John William Fox Sr.
A funeral Mass for John Fox Sr., 62, of Livonia was today, Thursday, Jan. 16, in St. Aidan Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mr. Fox died Jan. 13, 2003.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle (nee Ziemba); children, Danielle and John Fox Jr.; siblings, Thomas Fox Jr., Elizabeth (Richard) Hull, James (Marie) Fox, Kathleen (Gary) Pinkley, Jeanette (Peter) Boss, Alfred (Joann) Fox, Margaret (Richard) Vitale, Daniel Fox (O.F.M. Capuchin), William Fox, Robert (Anita) Fox and Ellen Fox; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Marsh and Ann Fox (George) McGrath.

Mr. Tausney was born May 6, 1925, in Scotland, and died Jan. 5, 2003, in Garden City. He was an electrician for the automotive industry.
Surviving are his wife, Winifred; sons, Colin and Brian (Jennifer); daughter, Maureen (James) McCracken; and grandchildren, Alison, Patrick, Christa and Ian.

Rita Louise D'Agostino

Mrs. D'Agostino was born June 27, 1934, in Detroit, and died Jan. 4, 2003.

Mrs. D'Agostino was preceded in death by her husband, Dano.

Services for Janet Simmons, 82, of Livonia were Jan. 7 in St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville.
Mrs. Simmons died Jan. 3, 2003. She was a secretary at Livonia public schools and a member of St. Maurice Parish of Livonia.
Surviving are her children, Carol Simmons, Brian Simmons and Jim Simmons; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson; sister, Eileen Judd; and brothers, Bernard Mulvaney and James Mulvaney.

Mr. Martoia was born March 24, 1929, and died Jan. 6, 2003, in Dearborn Heights. He was a manager.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne; children, Dennis (Barbara), Alan (Sue), Chuck (Carol), Yvonne (Tom) Hughes, Sandy (Bruce) Henderson, Robert (Lynn) and Jeff (Karen); siblings, Jean Patterson, Ron Martoia, Bernetta Ratcliffe and Joseph Martoia; and 18 grandchildren.

Donald Allen Mercer
Services for former Redford resident Donald Mercer, 76, of Farmington Hills were Feb. 5 in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home.
Mr. Mercer was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Detroit, and died Feb. 2, 2003, in Royal Oak. He lived in Redford 36 years before moving to Farmington Hills 13 years ago.
Mr. Mercer was a truck driver for Kroger 36 years, retiring in 1993. He was a former driver for Jefferson Trucking company & Excello Corp. He was a Union Steward for Teamsters Local No. 337. Mr. Mercer was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Marines.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Doris; sons, Robert of Farmington Hills, Dean (Sandra) Mercer of Florida and Kenneth Mercer of Livonia; daughters, Cynthia (Tony) Grech of Livonia and Carol Mercer of Brighton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Fred Delaney

Mr. Delaney was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Arabia, Ky., and died Jan. 22, 2003, in Farmington Hills. He did underground cable work for Detroit Edison over 40 years. He lived in Redford Township since 1951. He was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church over 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; brother, Al (Carole) Delaney; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Delaney was preceded in death by his sons, Andrew and Richard, and one grandson.

Edith M. Kemp
A memorial service for Edith Kemp, 97, of Redford was Jan. 28 in Calvin East Presbyterian Church, Detroit. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Austin.
Mrs. Kemp was born April 22, 1905, and died Jan. 25, 2003, in Farmington Hills. She was a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools. She worked for the Red Cross 30 years after her retirement. Mrs. Kemp taught classes at Presbyterian Village where she lived, and was an active member of Calvin East Presbyterian Church since 1946.
Surviving are her daughter, Joy Salter; grandchildren, Sandra (Brian) McQuarrie, Maureen Rogan and Dean (Grace) Salter; and great-grandchildren, Krista, Kevin, Joshua, Cody, Michael and Angel Grace.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Warren; son, Warren (Denise) Myers Jr. of Clarkston; daughter, Judy (Douglas) Collins; brother, Albert Griest; sisters, Virginia, Marian, Louise, Ardyth, Naoni and Gertrude; and granddaughters, Lisa (Eric) Williamson and Lindsay Myers.

Mrs. McDonald was born April 23, 1920, in Detroit, and died Jan. 19, 2003, in Spring Hill, Fla. She was a homemaker and was also involved in the family real estate business, ReMax of Higgins Lake. She was a member of Markey Community Baptist Church and Redford Suburban League. Mrs. McDonald and her husband, J. Wesley, moved to Higgins Lake from Redford Township in 1972.
Surviving are her sons, Doug (Sue) McDonald of Ann Arbor, Dennis (JoAnn) McDonald of Higgins Lake and Dale (Libbie) McDonald of Higgins Lake; brother, David (Anita) Campbell of Flint; grandchildren, Sandy (Kevin) Lewis of Higgins Lake, Aimee McDonald of Ann Arbor, Krista McDonald (fiancé Scott Katelenich) of Higgins Lake, and Eric McDonald of Higgins Lake; and great-grandchildren, Leah and Sarah Lewis, both of Higgins Lake.

Tillie C. Pilszak

Mrs. Pilszak was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Great Barrington, Mass., and died Jan. 15, 2003, in Dearborn Heights, after a long battle with cancer.
She worked for 60 years as a beautician in her own shop "The Classic Beauty Shop" in the David Scott Building in Detroit. She retired at age 77. She never drove, but used the city buses. She was commended by the Detroit City Council at age 67 for 50 years of working in the city.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph; sisters, Jean Wozniacki and Christine Bykowski; granddaughters, Melanie (Ken) Graham and Linda (Paul) Klebba of Garden City; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Pilszak was preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia Morosky.
