JANNIE LEE BALOG
Services for Jannie Lee Balog, 70, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Garden City, will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Nie Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, with burial following at Michigan Memorial Park.
Mrs. Balog was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Kentucky to parents John R. and Minnie Virginia (Collinsworth) Shelby and died Wednesday, May 1, in Ann Arbor. She was a 32-year resident of Garden City before moving to Ann Arbor a year ago.
Survivors include sons, Roger Balog of Ann Arbor and Ricky (Christine) Balog of Mio, Mich.; sister, Ruby Miller of LaFollette, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Preceding in death were her parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 17117 W. Nine Mile, Southfield, MI 48075.
CHARLES A. PHILLIPS
Services for Charles A. Phillips, 77, of Garden City were Thursday, May 2, from John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home in Garden City with Jeanne Sartor of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital officiating.
Mr. Phillips was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Detroit and died April 29 in Superior Township. He was a quality control engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Phillips; son, Ronald (Barbara) of Livonia; daughters, Janice Bailey of Redford and Lori (Steven) McGuire of Garden City; sisters Stella Smith, Betty Campbell and Shirley Scrimger; brother Ron Phillips; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Cremation rites were accorded. Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
ZACHARY SCOTT TAYLOR
Services for Zachary Scott Taylor, 40, of Garden City were Monday, April 29, at the Uht Funeral Home in Westland. The Rev. Jack Baker officiated.
Mr. Taylor died April 25.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his parents, Thomas and Phyllis Taylor of Westland; daughter, Samantha; siblings, Raymond Peterson, Cynthia McBride, Thomas Taylor Jr., Leslie John Taylor and Tamara Matsui; and companion, Linda Starks.
ROBERT M. PALMER
Services for Robert M. Palmer, 72, of Garden City were Tuesday, April 30, at Santeiu Chapel. The Rev. Jerome K. Smith of First United Methodist Church officiated.
Mr. Palmer was born March 13, 1930, in Elizabethtown, Ill., and died April 28 in Garden City. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Garden City Department of Public Services for 28 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Palmer; son, Robert (Laura) Palmer; daughters, Barbara (Donald) Anderson and Karen (Keith) Buschbacher; and grandchildren, Ryan, Shannon, Lindsey, Drew, Alex, Austin, Lauren, Robert and Leanne.
Private cremation followed services. Arrangements were by John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home in Garden City.
ADOLPH F. KARWAN
Services for Adolph F. Karwan, 72, of Garden City were Wednesday, April 24, from St. Raphael Church.
Mr. Karwan was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Detroit and died April 21 in Southfield. He was employed in manufacturing for an electric company.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons, Bruce (Sharla), Brian and Ken (Stacy); daughters, Judi, Jill Queen, Karen (John) Esparza and Marie; brothers, Walter Karwan and John, Dick and Jerry Wludyka; and grandchildren, Carly, Benjamin, Nicholas, Jordan and Dominic.
Interment (cremation) was private committal.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Shrine and missions in Thailand.

RUTH M. LUCAS
Services for Ruth M. Lucas, 80, of Garden City were Tuesday, April 23, from L.J. Griffin Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Kaiser of Sacred Heart Church of Dearborn officiated.
Mrs. Lucas was born June 10, 1921, in Grand Blanc, Mich., and died April 20. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony H.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy A. (Robert L.) Oliver; son, Anthony E. (Avis); three sisters; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment was at White Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements were by L.J. Griffin Funeral Home.
ADDIE DIMPLE WELLINGTON
Services for Addie Dimple Wellington, 80, of Garden City were Saturday, April 20, at Santeiu Chapel. The Rev. Ray Lucasinsky of Marianhill Mission Society officiated. Special American Legion services were also held.
Mrs. Wellington was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Piney Flats, Tenn., and died April 17 in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Norman) Smith; granddaughters, Robin (Rick) Martinez, Rosanne (Mel) Koslowski, Rebecca (John) Willis, Risa (Mark) Thompson; grandson, Kevin; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ellen Leonard and Evelyn Leonard.
Burial was at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, Livonia.

WILLIAM DURHAM
Services for William Durham, 75, of Garden City will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, at First Baptist Church of Garden City, 30268 Marquette. The Rev. Luther Stanley will officiate. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. today, Sunday, April 21, at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster, between Ford and Cherry Hill in Garden City.
Mr. Durham was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Detroit and died April 18 in Trenton. He was employed as a tool crib attendant.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Durham; sons, William (B.J.) and David (Debbie); daughters, Denise (Terry) Angevine and Julie (Charles) Holupka; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Hensley; and brother, Duane. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Hoffman.
Burial was at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Garden City.

YVONNE M. BARNICK
Services for Yvonne M. Barnick, 84, of Wayne were Wednesday, April 10, at Santeiu Chapel. The Rev. Bernard Pilarski, Garden City Hospital chaplain, officiated.
Mrs. Barnick was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Detroit and died April 6 in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barnick, and daughter, Theresa Trosin. Surviving are grandchildren, Richard Zanavich, Cheryl Crowe of Garden City and Lisa Quinn; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Hales.
Memorials are suggested to Beaumont cancer research.
Private cremation followed services.
