THELMA NEWSTEAD
Services for former Livonia resident Thelma Newstead, 95, were May 18 in Harry J. Will Funeral Home, with burial at Roseland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Newstead died May 14, 2002. Surviving are her four grandchildren, Rhonda Burden, Russ Good, William Newstead and Paul Newstead; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Newstead was preceded in death by her husband, William, who was a Livonia police officer, Badge No. 1. She was also preceded in death by her son, William Newstead, Jr., and daughter, Shirley Good.
KATHERINE M. LLOYD-STELTER
Memorial services for Katherine M. Lloyd-Stelter, 50, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Livonia, were Friday, April 26, at Ward Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Quigley and the Rev. Kelly Voigt officiating.
Mrs. Lloyd-Stelter was born March 9, 1952 in San Diego, Calif. and died April 20 at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor.
She was a 1970 graduate of Franklin High School, and later attended Schoolcraft College and became a registered nurse. She enjoyed gardening, painting, stenciling and quilting. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and bible study. She was a previous resident of Tucson, Ariz. and Menominee, Wis.
Survivors include her husband, Steven; children, Kristin and Scott; parents, William R. Sr. and Mollie Lloyd of Livonia; siblings, William R. Jr. (Sheila), Douglas (Taraynn) and Susan Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.

KENNETH R. UTTER
Services for Kenneth R. Utter, 89, of Livonia were Sunday, May 5, at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edmund S. Borycz officiating. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Mr. Utter was born Aug. 9, 1912 in Grand Rapids and died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Four Chaplains Nursing Home.
He worked as a training specialist and was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Kelly and Marel Anne (John) Thomas; sons, Bruce (Kathy) Utter and Lawrence (Carolyn) Utter; special friend Betty Tipton; and eight grandchildren.
DONALD KERWIN OTTO
Services for Donald Kerwin Otto, 46, of Livonia will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Vermeulen Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Trail in Plymouth.
Visitation is planned from 2-9 p.m. Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7, at the funeral home.
Mr. Otto was born May 18, 1955 in Detroit and died Thursday, May 2, in home hospice care. He was known as "Uncle Don" to many and operated a heating and cooling and appliance repair business out of Plymouth for 10 years.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Otto; father John Anderson; sisters, Barb Mullin, Marion (Patrick) Wilken, Brenda (Eric) Bouton and Karla (Phil) Ceglia; brothers, Doyle (Bonnie) Otto Jr.; Mark (Jan) Otto and James (Angie) Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death were his brother Frederick Otto and father Doyle Otto Sr.

RUTH WILLIAMSON
Services for Ruth Margaret Schwocho Williams, 93, of Plymouth, formerly of Livonia will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 6 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia with burial following at Glen Eden Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams was born April 13, 1909 on a farm on Ann Arbor Trail just west of Wayne Road in Livonia Township and died Thursday, May 2 in Livonia. She graduated from Detroit Teacher's College in 1927 and earned her degree in the late 1950s. She taught 10 years at Estabrooke and more than 15 years at Mayberry Elementary School. She also substituted and took short term assignments at several other schools during her teaching tenure. She enjoyed traveling the country and was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Dearborn Heights and of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church after moving to Plymouth 17 years ago. She was active in senior groups and bible study classes.
Survivors include son James L. of Livonia and four grandchildren.
Preceding in death were her husband, Paul D. in 1961 and daughter Martha Ruth Hebert in 1974.
Memorials may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church or to a charity of choice.

BERNARD BRUCK
Services for Bernard Joseph Bruck, 58, of Livonia will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 6 at St. Clements Orthodox Church, 19600 Ford Road in Dearborn with entombment following at Glen Eden Cemetery.
Mr. Bruck was born Dec. 9, 1943 and died Thursday, May 2 in Livonia. He was a 1962 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central and a Cleary College graduate. He received his master's degree from Indiana Northern in 1968. He formerly owned a Flat Rock insurance agency.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne and children Arron and Jeffrey.
Memorials may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute of Huron Valley or to St. Clements Orthodox Church.

ELIZABETH DALY
Services for Elizabeth Daly, 103 of Livonia were May 1 at St. Sabina Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights, with the Rev. Joseph L. Romano officiating and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Mrs. Daly was born July 25, 1898 in Scotland and died Sunday, April 28 in Livonia. She worked in assembly and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Survivors include daughters June Goralski and Elizabeth White, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Maher and her son, Hugh.

CHARLES FRANKLIN LITTLE
Services and intermenty for Charles Little, 93, of Livonia, formerly of Redford were Wednesday, May 1, at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Thomas Eggebeen officiating.
Mr. Little was born Aug. 10, 1908, in St. Thomas, Ontario and died April 29 in Commerce Township.
He was the manager of fine paper products at Beecher, Peck and Lewis, where he had worked for nearly 48 years.
Survivors include a sister, Marion Little of Livonia, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Beatrice in 1998.
MARY "MITZI" DOLENCE
Services for Mary "Mitzi" Dolence, 87 of Novi, formerly of Madison Heights, Beverly Hills and Livonia, were Wednesday, May 1, from Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leonard Partensky officiating.
Mrs. Dolence was born May 30, 1914 in Pittsburg, Kan. and died April 30 in Novi.
She worked for Awrey Bakeries for 28 years as a supervisor and was a member of the Slovenian National Benefit Society. She graduated from high school in Yale, Kan.
Survivors include nephew, Michael (Muriel) Adamic of Milford and nieces, Patricia (William) Smith of Farmington and Rose Marie (Donald) Fritz of Traverse City.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, John Dolence and Andrew Werholtz.
