BENJAMIN J. REULAND
A wake is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15 in Westland for Benjamin J. Reuland, 50, of Northville who died suddenly June 8 while working in Wayne.
Mr. Reuland, a former employee at the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers, was a 1969 graduate of Stevenson High School in Livonia. He received two degrees from Schoolcraft College. He also attended Eastern Michigan University. He worked in the mailroom at the O&E for 21 years from 1974 to 1995.
He was born July 12, 1951 in Aurora, Ill. to Karl and Mary Reuland. The family moved from Kansas to Livonia in 1969.
Mr. Reuland was described by friends and family as a loving father, friend and writer.
"Throughout his life, he wrote poems and essays, often about nature. From wood, feather and other bits he collected on his frequent hikes or while fishing, he created sculptures featured at Toledo Botanical Gardens.'' said longtime friend Annette Taylor, a journalism professor at the University of Dayton.
"He loved Michigan State University basketball, books, and music, and had a vast eclectic album collection. He had a poet's heart and sweet, mischievous smile.
"He said his greats gifts were his children -- Aaron, 26, of Ypsilanti; Erik, 24 of Detroit and Rebecca, 19, of Livonia and a student at Columbia College in Chicago. He adored his new daughter-in law, Connie, Erik's wife,'' said Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary.
In addition to his sons, and daughter, other survivors include father, Karl of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Karla Matweychek of Westland and Martha Price of Fullerton, Calif.; brother, John of Spokane, Wash.; nephews Scott Boze of Westland, Seth Boze of Taylor and Shawn Boze of Taylor, "Little'' Ben Reuland of Spokane and nieces Noel Reuland of Spokane, Sabrina Price and Elizabeth Price of .Fullerton.
No funeral was held. Mr. Reuland was cremated on June 11.

MARIE E. KRUG
Services for Marie Krug, 76, of Canton were held June 7 at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church with the Rev. Eli Salomon officiating. Burial was at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.
Mrs. Krug was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Perigueux, France and died June 5 in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband, Clifford L. Krug of Canton; sons, William (Patricia) Krug of Canton, Gregory (Nieve) Krug of Paris, France, Kenneth Krug of Ann Arbor, Alain Krug of Ann Arbor; sisters, Rosie Coffee of Westland and Emily Jestin of Lyon, France; and four grandchildren.

SOPHIA ANN WILSON
Services for Sophia Wilson, 88, of Northville were held June 10 at St. Kenneth Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Mallia officiating. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mrs. Wilson was born March 26, 1914 in Cleveland and died June 7 in Northville. She was an inspector at GM for many years, retiring in the 1960s. She came to the Northville community in 1987 from Detroit. She was a member of the U.A.W. and Firefighter's Wives Association (her late husband, was the Captain of the Detroit Fire Department). She loved to collect coins and stamps. She loved flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilson.
Survivors include son, Ronald (Janet) Brodzik, of Northville (formerly of Plymouth); grandchildren, Ronald (Becky) Brodzik, Jr. of Plymouth, Linda (Randy) Dickinson of Northville, Randy (Laura) Brodzik of Northville, Laura Brodzik of Plymouth, Gerald (Becky) Brodzik of Canton, Steven (late wife Judy) Brodzik of Plymouth, and Julie (Brad) Emmett of Plymouth; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Krymski of Detroit.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Angela Hospice in Livonia.

NORA BAUER
Services for Nora Bauer, 44, of Lincoln Park were held June 10 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with the Rabbi Joshua Bennett officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Superior Township.
Nora was born Dec. 24, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio and died June 7 in Lincoln Park. She was a supervisor for a halfway house in Lincoln Park. She came to Lincoln Park in 2000 from Plymouth. She is survived by many friends. She was very outgoing and a leader. She was a loving daughter, sister, step-sister, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bauer; step-father, Marion Colvin; and step-father, Walter Kozachenko.
Survivors include mother, Bette Kozachenko of Canton; sisters, Lisa (Thomas) Lewandowski of Canton, and Kimberly Kozachenko of Westland; brother, Frederic Bauer of Farmington Hills; step-sister, Kathleen Kozachenko of Pittsburgh, Pa.; step-brother, Keith Kozachenko of Ind.; niece, Alexis Bauer; and nephew, Justin Kozachenko.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.

LORENE C. BUSSE
Services for Lorene Busse, 85, of Canton were held June 10 at McCabe Funeral Home Canton Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Yarnell and the Rev. Drex Morton, both from St. Michael Lutheran Church in Canton.
Mrs. Busse was born Jan. 1, 1917 in Farina, Ill. and died June 6 in Livonia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Busse.
Survivors include sons, Gene (Laure) Busse, and Floyd (Dolores) Busse; one brother; two sisters; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Angela Hospice.

EDWARD KERSTENS
Services for Edward Kerstens, 79, of Plymouth will be held June 15 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Canton.
Mr. Kerstens was born April 14, 1923 in Amsterdam, Holland and died June 10 in Ann Arbor. He was retired from Ford Motor Company Livonia Transmission Plant. He came to the Plymouth community in 1960 from Detroit. He was a life member of the Plymouth Lions Club and a very active member of the Plymouth Historical Society. He was also involved with the Plymouth Boy Scouts and the Yankee Air Force Museum. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp and was a member of the Hell Hawks Fighter Squadron. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include wife, Helen of Plymouth; daughter, Adrianna (Thomas) Hunt of Plymouth; sons, Garrett (Elizabeth) Kerstens of Plymouth and Martin (Elizabeth) Kerstens of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jacob (Mary Jane) Kerstens of Arizona; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends in the Plymouth community.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Penrickton Center for the Blind or the Plytmouth Historical Museum.

IRENE L. CIESLA
Services for Irene Ciesla, 78, of Webster Township were held June 12 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with the Rev. George Charnley officiating. Burial was at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mrs. Ciesla was born March 7, 1924 in Detroit and died June 9 at Arbor Hospice. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ciesla.
Survivors include son, James D. (Pamela) Ciesla; daughter, Michelle Stabb of Ann Arbor; sister, Stella (Paul) Prybylski of Detroit; sister, Florence Jakubiec of Dearborn; grandchildren, Eric and Erin Stabb and Jamie and David Ciesla.
