HENRY JAY BURR
Services for Henry Burr, 73, of Westland were May 17 in Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, Farmington with burial at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi. Officiating was the Rev. James B. Wright.
Mr. Burr was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Detroit, and died May 15, 2002, in Westland. He was a construction worker.
Surviving are his sons, Joseph Burr of Westland and Mark Burr of Westland; daughters, Elizabeth Burr of Farmington Hills, Susan Lundgreen of North Carolina and Laura Burr of Ohio; brother, Robert (Patricia) Burr of California; and two grandchildren, Troy Lundgreen and Natassia Lundgreen.
Mr. Burr was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (June 29, 1998).
Memorial tributes may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute.

MARION D. COLVIN
Services for Marion Colvin, 76, of Canton will be 11 a.m. Friday, in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mr. Colvin was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, and died May 14, 2002, in Canton Township. He came to the Plymouth community in the 1960's from Kalamazoo. Mr. Colvin was district manager for the Social Security Administration, retiring after 35 years of service. After his retirement he worked for General Filters in Novi.
Mr. Colvin served in the armed services during World War II and was a life-member of the V.F.W. in Northville.
Surviving are: his wife, Bette; children Jeffrey (Suzanne) of White Lake, Frederic Bauer of Farmington, Lori (Brian) Bucalo of White Lake, Nora Bauer of Lincoln Park, Lisa (Thomas) Lewandowski of Canton and Kimberly Kozachenko of Westland; sister, Mary (James) Craven of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial tributes may be made to Arbor Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

RALPH A. DESJARDINS
Services for former Garden City resident Ralph DesJardins, 83, of Canton were May 14 in John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home with burial at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Donald Gregory from Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. DesJardins was born Jan. 21, 1919, in Detroit, and died May 10 in Farmington Hills. He was a truck driver. He was a Garden City resident 40 years before moving to Canton.
Surviving are his daughters, Ruth (Benjamin) Sanders of Arizona, Carol (Gary) Sewell of Canton, Alice (Donald) Bell of Westland and Linda (Jack) Chenault of Westland; brothers, Kenneth, Russell and Wilbur; sisters, Ruth and Grace; five grandchildren, Amy, Holly, Heidi, Melissa and Sarah; and two great-grandchildren.

FRANCES IRMA KIELTY
Services for Frances Kielty, 80, of Westland were May 11 in Vermeulen Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Officiating was the Rev. Leonard Partensky.
Miss Kielty was born May 6, 1922, in Detroit, and died May 8, in Livonia. She lived in Westland for many years. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. She was a senior clerk 38 years for Ford Motor Company.
Miss Kielty was a 1941 graduate of Saint Gregory High School. She was a reading tutor for Michigan Literacy Program. Miss Kielty received a merit award in honor of the many volunteer hours she donated at St. Mary Hospital.

ANNABELLE ELLER
Services for Annabelle Eller, 69, of Westland will be 10 a.m. Friday, in Uht Funeral Home with burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
A homemaker, Mrs. Eller was born May 26, 1932, and died May 14, 2002, in Garden City.
Surviving are her children, Erma (Patrick) Shark, William (Delores), Robert (Rebecca) and Deborah Backhaus; brother, Melvin Stevens; sister, Betty Spink; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and companion of 28 years, Paul Barber.

CRISSTIE M. GWIZDAK
A funeral Mass for Crisstie Gwizdak of Westland was May 13 in St. Mary Catholic Church of Wayne.
Miss Gwizdak died May 8, 2002.
Surviving are her parents, John and Beatrice; siblings, Jeannine (Bud) Giegler, Jeanette (Kevin) Clark, Michelle (Chuck) Borg, Carlette, Michael, Kimberly (Gordon) Prater, Chadd, Maria (Martin) Sigarto, Jamie, Jason, Rachel and Todd; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Harry J. Will Funeral Home.

WILLIAM EDGAR LUDWIG
Services for William Ludwig, 56, of Westland were April 23 in Uht Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Bob McDonald.
A mechanic, Mr. Ludwig was born Dec. 15, 1945, and died April 18, 2002, in Wayne.
Surviving are his sons, Billy (Sheryl) and Jason (Wendy); stepsons, Roger Eller and Jesse Backhaus; stepdaughter, Yvonne Chomos; brothers, Mike (Peggy) and Fred (Merry); sisters, Pat Burns and Sandra Ludwig; 14 grandchildren; and companion Deborah Backhaus.

JAMES WILLIAM BLAIR JR.
Services for former Westland resident James Blair Jr., 77, of Canton will be 11 a.m. Saturday, in Vermeulen Funeral Home, 980 N. Newburgh Road, Westland. Officiating will be the Rev. Neil Swanger.
Mr. Blair was born March 13, 1926, in Detroit, and died May 8, 2002, in Farmington Hills. Employed by Ford Motor Company for 23 years, he was also a restaurant owner 1968-1983. A graduate of Fordson High School, Mr. Blair earned a bachelors degree in traffic management.
Mr. Blair was a member of Newburgh Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Dearborn and Mt. Olivet Methodist Church.
Mr. Blair served in the Navy during World War II. His rank was Water Tender 3rd Class. He received Victory medals and a good conduct award.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Emily;children Thomas of Canton, Pamela Witte and Leslie, both of Westland; sister, May Prisby of Canton; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

JOHN THOMAS MCCONNELL
A memorial service for John McConnell, 77, of Westland was today, (Thursday) at First Methodist Church of Wayne.
Mr. McConnell was born July 15, 1924, in McDonald, Ohio, and died May 12, 2002, in Garden City. He was a salesman for Kosin Clothes and a World War II veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; children, Barbara (Robert) Burke, John, Kathleen (Richard) Phillips, Terrence (Susan), Randy (Andrew) Williams, Jeffrey (Barbara), Margaret Hope and Pennie Russ; one brother; two sisters; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. McConnell is also survived by his friend, Ed.
Arrangements were made by L.J. Griffin Funeral Home.

WILLIAM H. HICKEY
Services for William H. Hickey, 84, of Wayne, were Tuesday, May 7, from Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Willet J. Harrington II officiating.
Mr. Hickey was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Fall River, Mass. and died May 2 in Westland. He was an iron worker and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. in World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Jack (Jan) Hickey of Florida and Patrick (Sandy) Hickey of Stockbridge; daughter Jill Currie of Wayne; sisters Elizabeth Pierce of Plymouth, Helen Medeiros of Westland and Ann Boik of Webberville, and brother Walter Hickey of Florida.
Preceding in death were his parents, John and Johanna Hickey. Cremation rites were accorded.
