James P. Graves
Services for James "Jim" Graves, 38, formerly of Farmington, will be held at 10 a..m. Monday, Oct. 7 at St. Margaret Mary Church, in Naperville, Ill.
Mr. Graves was born June 1, 1964 in Royal Oak and died Oct. 1, 2002 in Hayward, Wisc. He grew up in Farmington and moved to Naperville, Ill. in 1979. He earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from Loyola University and taught at Naperville North High School from 1992-1997. He moved to Hayward, Wisc. in 1997 and worked at the Market Place Supermarket. He enjoyed reading, writing and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy; brothers, William (Ann Marie) and Thomas (Sarah); and nieces, Katie and Maggie. He is preceded in death by his father, William.

Jill H. McNeilly
Services for Jill Helene McNeilly, 48, of Livonia, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Oct. 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Mrs. McNeilly was born May 25, 1954 in Detroit and died Sept. 30, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Eric; daughters, Sarah, Shannon and Heather; father, Vern Bradach; sister, Toni Toth; brother, Kirk Bradach; and mother and father-in-law, Jim and Eileen McNeilly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Edna.

Willa J. Schmidt
Services for Willa Jeanette Schmidt, 81, of Farmington Hills, were held Oct. 2 at Redford Baptist Church in Redford with the Rev. Danny Langley officiating. Burial took place at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
Ms. Schmidt was born July 3, 1921 in Detroit and died Sept. 30, 2002 at Providence Hospital in Southfield. She worked as a statistical typist in the computer industry.
She is survived by her sister, Vada Lipple; nephew, Steven (Cathleen) Lipple; niece, Jean (Terry) Crossley; and three great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert Lipple.

Frances S. Lyday
Services for Frances Sophia Lyday, 93, of Farmington, were held Oct. 2 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Gerald McEnhill officiating. Burial took place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Mrs. Lyday was born June 30, 1909 in Detroit and died Sept. 29, 2002 at Marywood Nursing Center in Livonia.
She is survived by her daughters, June (Donald) Summers and Rose Marie Docherty; brother, Frank; grandsons, Tom and Steve; granddaughters, Donna, Nancy and Heather; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mark; brothers Joseph, Steve, Alex and Stanley; and son-in-law, Howard.

James E. Taylor
Services for James E. Taylor, 90, of Canton, were held Sept. 30 at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Jerry Yarnell and the Rev. Drex Morton officiating. Burial took place at United Memorial Gardens in Superior Township.
Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 9, 1912 in Akron, Ohio and died Sept. 25, 2002 in Canton. He was a World War II Army veteran and worked as a security officer for the city of Detroit. He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Canton.
He is survived by his son, Dana Gorzelski; step-son, Gordon (Patricia) Eddy; grandchildren, Michael Eddy, Nancy Eddy, Scott (Sandy) Eddy, Brook Eddy and Lola (David) Youngman; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene.
Charles L. Fenner
Services for Charles Lewellyn Fenner, 68, of Novi, were held Sept. 30 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. James Britt officiating. Burial took place at Oakwood Cemetery in Farmington.
Mr. Fenner was born Oct. 27, 1933 and died Sept. 26, 2002 at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He worked for the Wayne County Road Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Terry, James (Frances), Joseph (Kristen), Charles, Gregory and Steven; grandchildren, Angela, Chelsea, Jonathon, Joey, Nicholas, Rebecca, Lindsey, Tera and Neil; sisters, Grace Garris, Lucille (Bill) Taplin and Mae (Walt) Durgin. He is preceded in death by his brother Ross.
John J. Mifsud
Services for John Joseph Mifsud, 73, will be held at 9 a.m. today, Oct. 3 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Detroit with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mr. Mifsud was born Feb. 7, 1929 and died Sept. 29, 2002 in Plymouth. He owned Maxie's Deli in Detroit and the MI Industrial Fork Lift, formerly Miffie of Detroit. He was a charter member of the board of directors of the Pope John House since 1980 and was the founder of the Holiday Basket Program which feeds over 700 families in the Corktown area. He was a real estate agent and owned real estate in the Detroit area.
He is survived by his children, Denise (Mark) Helminiak, Joseph (Nancy) Mifsud, Linda (Larry) Mallia, John Jr., Mary (Robert) Hafner, and Yvonne (Scott) Ducolon; sister, Francis (Carlo) Barrera; and 11 grandchildren.

Michael J. Pingilley
Michael James Pingilley, 52, of Farmington Hills, died Oct. 1, 2002.
He was a member of the Livonia Elks and the Livonia Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna; children, Stacey (Mark) Warren and Linnea Nilsson; father, James (Vera); sister, Sandy (Greg) Cowan; two grandsons; and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary.

Ernest N. Yarbrough
Services for Ernest Nevel Yarbrough, 92, of Farmington Hills, were held Sept. 16 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Dr. Joe Wade officiating. Burial took place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
Mr. Yarbrough was born May 28, 1910 in Kentucky and died Sept. 11, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. He worked as a tool and die maker for the auto supply industry.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; son, Norris (Betty); sister, Evelyn Gillison; and granddaughters, Patti Sivyer, Barbara Yerke, Carol Sivyer and Joyce Young.
Esther Zerbo
Services for Esther Zerbo, 82, formerly of Farmington Hills, were held Sept. 16 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Msgr. Walter Hurley officiating. Burial took place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
Mrs. Zerbo was born May 19, 1920 in Butte, Mont. and died Sept. 12, 2002 at Bloomfield Orchard Villa in West Bloomfield. She was a member of Club Venetian.
She is survived by her sons, Angelo, Richard (Deborah) and John (Leslie); and grandchildren, Kimberly, Nina, Kevin, Jenna, Andrew, Alex, and Christopher. She is preceded in death by her husband, August.
