Mrs. Matthews was born June 22, 1914, in Buford, Ga., and died Aug. 10, 2002, in Wayne.
She was a homemaker. During World War II she worked in a factory. She also owned a small neighborhood store in Detroit for a time. S
Mrs. Matthews lived Detroit 50 years and was a Wayne resident 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working around her home, and arts and crafts.
Surviving are her son, Don (Sharon) Matthews of Westland; daughters, Nancy (Kenneth) Privett of Morrisville, N.C. and Jean Alcala of Livonia; three grandchildren, Donna, Guy and Kathleen; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Matthews.
Lucille Bertha Kalusniak
Services for Lucille Kalusniak, 82, of Ann Arbor were Aug. 10 in Harry J. Will Funeral Home, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Luther A. Werth.
Mrs. Kalusniak was born Jan. 25, 1920, in Detroit, and died Aug. 7, 2002, in Ann Arbor. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, Douglas (Lynn) Kalusniak of St.Peters, Mo., and John (Kay) Kalusniak of Jonesville, Mich.; daughters, Lucille (Donald) Lussenden of Livonia and Sharon (John) Osborne of Dearborn Heights; brothers, George Cooper and Leonard Cooper; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Matthew A. Bruscato
Private services for Matthew A. Bruscato, 22, of Canton were held Tuesday, Aug. 13 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Internment was at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
Matthew was born June 3, 1980 in St. Clair, Mich., and died Aug. 8, 2002 in Canton. He was a student.
Matthew was the beloved son of Anthony and Sharon; grandson of Angela and the late Anthony Bruscato, Lottie Depugh, and William and Kayti Depugh; brother of Sarah and Andrew; and uncle of Charlotte.

Francis A. Trader
Services for Francis Trader of Westland were July 30 in Prayer Baptist Church with burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Bartlett.
Mr. Trader was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Detroit, and died July 26, 2002, in Westland. He was a repairman and a member of Prayer Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; children, Patricia (Bud) Davis of Westland, Gary (Debbie) Trader of Canton, Denise (Fred) Skellenger of Weberville and Theresa (Jay) Diadiun of Milford; siblings, Jeannie Buel of Marine City, Don Trader of Livonia, Joyce Enders of Port Huron, Walter Trader of Marine City and Alice Trader of Marine City; half-sisters, Mildred Ross of Livonia and Myrtle Lozen of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Trader also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Edith Blanche Graham
Services for Edith Graham, 81, of Livonia were Aug. 3 in Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington. Officiating was the Rev. Jennifer Saad.
Mrs. Graham was born July 26, 1926, in Detroit, and died July 31, 2002, in Garden City. She was a homemaker and a longtime Livonia resident.
Surviving are her sons, Jim (Janet) Graham of The Villages, Fla. and David (Estella) Graham of Duluth, Minn.; brothers, William Richards of Troy and Perry Richards of Inkster; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and granddaughter, Dawn Borregard of Livonia.
Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, and daughter, Nancy Gagnon.

Michael Robert Marshall
A funeral Mass for Michael Marshall, 21, of Livonia was Aug. 5 in St. Michael Catholic Church in Livonia, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
Michael was born March 15, 1981, in Southfield, and died Aug. 1, 2002, at his home in Livonia. He attended St. Michael Grade School, Livonia Franklin High School and received an Associates Degree from Schoolcraft College. He was currently a full-time student at Eastern Michigan. He was employed as a cook for Applebees Restaurant in Northville where he was honored as Employee of the Year.
Michael was a Boy Scout 12 years and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a former Carrier of the Month for the Livonia Observer. He was a former member of the Michigan Scottish Pipes and Drums. Music, video games and the outdoors were his favorite pastimes.
Surviving are his parents, Derek and Therese Marshall; brother, Bryan; sisters, Kerstin and Laura; grandparents, Eric and Jeanne Haapala, and Hector and Agnes Marshall; and several aunts and uncles.

Steven Thomas Parnin
Services for Steven Parnin, 23, of Westland were Aug. 7 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Howard Vogan.
Mr. Parnin was born June 21, 1979, in Livonia, and died Aug. 2, 2002, in Detroit. He died in a motorcycle accident. He was a Detroit Police Officer. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Redford.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Parnin of Livonia; brother, Christopher Parnin; sisters, Lisa Parnin, Marie Parnin and Michelle Parnin; grandparents, James and Maryan Parnin; and in-laws, Charles and Barbara Ronayne.

Helen Patricia Malfroid

Mrs. Malfroid was born March 22, 1924, in Detroit, and died Aug. 2, 2002, in Livonia. She was an administrator for an insurance company.
Surviving are her brother, Timothy (Gloria) Jarvis; sister, Leonora; nephew, Douglas (Michele) Jarvis; nieces, Nancy (Luke) Jordon and Susan Falbo; seven great-nieces and nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
