Georgia Mae Roark Adams, religious author, songwriter
Georgia Mae Roark Adams, 74, of Florence, a religious author and songwriter, died Saturday at her home.
She was a retired medical clerk at St. Elizabeth Medical Centers and at Radiology Associates.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Gathering Place Church in Florence and the author of two books, "Moments With the Master" and "More Like the Master."
She also wrote numerous church hymns.
"Moments with the Master" was an introduction to Christian life and "More Like the Master" was devoted to Christian guide lines and inspirations.
Mrs. Adams' writing career began with notations in church bulle tins.
"Mother wanted everybody to know the joy of life and she felt that when you're close to the mas ter, you can't help but have joy," said Mrs. Adams' daughter, Bonnie Bolen of Independence.
"She was a joy for everybody. She was an inspiration and mentor to a lot of people. She brought out the best in you. She believed in love and she was caring and giv ing."
Mrs. Bolen said her mother was devoted to Gathering Place Church, a non-denominational church that she described as "just like being in heaven."
Mrs. Adams' husband, Charles Walter "Bud" Adams, died in 1994.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy Harris of Florence; a son, Rod Adams of War saw, sisters, Louetta Geraci of Las Vegas, Dorothy Robbins of Colum bus, Ohio, and Scioto Lipscomb of Walton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Gathering Place Church, 10310 Dixie Highway, Florence, Ky. 41042.
Billie Douglas Adkins, 49, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a shipping clerk with Kahn's Meats, Cincinnati.
Survivors include a brother, Edsel Kannady of Dry Ridge; and sisters, Rita Warren of Norcross, Ga., Shiela Smith of Dry Ridge, Debbie Teaford of Highland Heights and Linda Smith of Bromley.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Grant County.
Wilma H. Baltenberger, 88, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired cafeteria manager with Ruth Moyer Elementary School, Fort Thomas. Her husband, Jarvis Baltenberger, died in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Sue Short of Fort Thomas; and a son, Jerome Short of Fort Thomas.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242. Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Glynn Elizabeth Malone, 91, of Maysville, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. She was a homemaker and a member of Germantown Christian Church. Her husband, John Malone, preceded her in death.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home, Germantown. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Germantown. Memorials are suggested to Germantown Christian Church, 81 Bridgeville Road, Germantown, Ky. 41044.
Katherine Elizabeth Stephens Mason, 79, of Latonia, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Henry Mason; sons, Ralph R. Mason of Walton and Larry E. Mason of Covington; a sister, Helen Hutchins of Brunswick, Ga.; three grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Emmitt Earl McConnell Sr., 80, of Mount Olivet, died Saturday at Robertson County Health Care Center in Mount Olivet. He was a retired farmer and Ladish Co. employee. He was a member of Kentontown Christian Church, where he was a former song minister, and was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Betty Reed McConnell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Emmitt Earl McConnell Jr. and Ronnie Lavell McConnell, both of Robertson County; brothers, Lannie Marion McConnell and Ivan H. McConnell, both of Robertson County, and Lyle McConnell of Albany, Ga.; a sister, Edith McConnell Manley of Maysville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kentontown Christian Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Robertson County Funeral Home, Mount Olivet, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Marie H. McGovern, 83, of Cold Spring, died Friday at her home. She was a baker with Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights, and a member of Kersten O'Day VFW Post No. 2899 Ladies Auxiliary, Dayton, and Newport Elks. Her husband, William L. McGovern, died in 1996.
Survivors include a son, Steve McGovern of Cold Spring; a daughter, Patricia Parker of Florence; a sister, Lorraine Skinner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Arthur O'Brien, 80, of Independence, died Saturday at his home.

Elmer Randall, 74, of Latonia, died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired aircraft maintenance worker with Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, an usher with Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, and a member of the Young at Heart Club. He was a World War II veteran. His wife, Ruby Martin Randall, died in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Eva Lynn Scott of Piner; brothers, Henry Robert Randall Jr. of Independence, Clifford Earl Randall of Cincinnati, and Floyd Ervin Randall of Fort Mitchell; a sister, Betty Elsie Elliott of Florence; and two grandchildren.

Charles Rapp Sr., 84, of Florence, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a retired mill operator with the Kroger Co., a member of the Legionnaire Society and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Rapp; sons, John Rapp of Fort Wright, Dan Rapp of Orlando, Fla., Charles Rapp Jr. of Bellevue, Tony Rapp of Fort Thomas and Gary Rapp of Erlanger; daughters, Mary J. Smith of Bellevue, Julie Murphy of Fort Thomas, Margie Alford of Alexandria, Betsy Baumann of Collinsville, Ill., and Cindy Vogt of Erlanger; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Anthony George Reinhart, 78, of Taylor Mill, died at 2:08 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired supervisor with Kroger Distribution Center in Cincinnati, and a member of St. Anthony Church, Taylor Mill. He was a former fire chief with the Winston Park Fire Department, where he organized the first life squad in the city, and was a member of St. Anthony Fun Club, American Legion Post No. 203 and Disabled American Veterans Post No. 19. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine J. Roth Reinhart; daughters, Mary Carol Heidrich of Taylor Mill, Barbara Butler and Theresa Ludwig, both of Latonia; sons, William A. Reinhart of Wilder, Richard G. Reinhart of Erlanger and David P. Reinhart of Taylor Mill; a sister, Viola Wegesser of Flagstaff, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Church, Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Earl W. Schneider, 80, of Fort Wright, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired shoe store manager with Shoe Corp. of America and a member of St. Augustine Holy Name Society, Leisure Timers, Fort Wright Civic Club and the Fort Wright Volunteer Fire Department. His first wife, Margaret Halpin, died in 1977. His second wife, Evelyn Teipel, died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, James Schneider of Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Carolyn Houston of Springfield, Ill., and Elizabeth Salazar of Cincinnati; a brother, Lee Schneider of Alexandria; a sister, Mildred Dullaghan of Dayton; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 8 tonight at St. Augustine Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 tonight at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Virginia Lee Tackett, 59, of Newport, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda General Baptist Church, Cold Spring.
Survivors include sons, John P. Tackett of Highland Heights, Henry E. Tackett of Covington, Melvin L. Tackett and William Tackett, both of Newport; daughters Angela Tackett and Michelle Carroll, both of Newport; brothers, Jim Ormes and Lee Ormes, both of Pendleton County, and Edward Ormes of Cold Spring; sisters, Velma K. Sexton and Nancy Thomas, both of Newport, Elizabeth Burkhart of Highland Heights, and Kay McGovney of Cold Spring; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John Louis Vaughn, 72, of Augusta, died Friday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was a construction worker and farmer. His wife, Dorothy Mae Vaughn, died Feb. 15.
Survivors include daughters, Debbie Lynn White of Brooksville, Tina Jane Applegate of Tollesboro and Lana Teegarden of Augusta; sons, Louis William Vaughn of Ripley, Ohio, and Harry Lee Vaughn of Augusta; sisters, Nettie Quinlin of Ripley, Rea George of Georgetown, and Fanny Bell Littlelon of Whichita, Texas; brothers, Charles Vaughn and Ray Vaughn, both of Georgetown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
