Andrew Cahill, surveyor, loved fishing and hunting
A love for the outdoors formed a thread that ran through Andrew J. Cahill's profession and his hob bies.
Mr. Cahill, 36, who died Saturday at his Independence home, spent his youth hunting and fishing with his father, said his brother, Stephen Cahill of Villa Hills.
Mr. Cahill continued that tradition with his own three sons. A member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, he had a favorite turkey hunting spot in Pendleton County, his brother said.
Love of the outdoors drew Mr. Cahill into surveying, which was his chosen profession.
He worked for his brother in the firm Abercrombie & Associates for 15 years and was a member of the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors.
"He was hard-working, diligent and dedicated," Stephen Cahill said. "He was an easy guy to have working for you."
Mr. Cahill coached Knothole baseball for his boys and supported Scott High School's efforts to build a new concession stand at its baseball field. His oldest son, Justin, plays for the Eagles.
"He was a very dedicated father," said his widow, Cami Morgan Cahill. "He lived his life for his kids."
