Tony W. Frederick Jr., liked bingo, cars, fishing
Spending time with family and friends was important to Tony W. Frederick Jr.
Most Friday and Saturday nights, Mr. Frederick could be found in Crittenden playing bingo with his wife of 23 years.
"He liked the scratch-off Bankers (game), and he won a lot, " said Kim Frederick, "but he also loved playing bingo."
Mr. Frederick, 46, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center from complications of a heart attack.
Buying, rebuilding and racing cars in the demolition derby with his son, Anthony J. "Bubby" Frederick, and his friends from work also took up a good deal of Mr. Frederick's free time. According to his wife, he won a trophy for making it to the finals in the first derby ever held at the Boone County Fairgrounds at Burlington.
At least once a year, he would gather the whole family, including his parents, siblings, wife and children, and head to Kincaid Lake.
"He never really caught a lot of fish, " said Mrs. Frederick, "he just liked being near the water."
His children remember him as a kind-hearted man who never worried about himself.
"He was the best father, and he'd do anything for anyone, " said his daughter, Carrie Frederick of Florence.
Mr. Frederick worked as a machine operator with ZF Lemforder Corp., Hebron, and was a former waste management worker with Bavarian Trucking Co., Walton, and CSI in Latonia. He also drove a freight truck.
Other survivors include another daughter, Angela N. Frederick of Florence; his parents, Tony W. and Barbara M. Frederick Sr. of Burlington; brothers, Rick Frederick of Falmouth, Johnny Frederick of Florence, Bobby Frederick and Shane Frederick, both of Burlington; a sister, Kimberly Mahoney of Carrollton; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Diana Lynch Bellows, 43, of Newport, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Tashina Bellows, Justina Bellows and Kristina Bellows, all of Newport; sisters, Brenda McGee of Covington, Sharon Jackson and Jeannie Lynch, both of Phoenix, Shela Lillie of Ripley, Ohio, and Pamela Wilson of Mount Orab, Ohio; and brothers, Al Lynch of Anderson, Ind., Roy Lynch of Lynchburg, Ohio, Bobby Lynch of Milford, and Mike Lynch of Cincinnati.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.
Robert Dickerson, 79, of Sanders, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a farmer and a member of Drury Chapel Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau Board, and a former member of the Carroll County Water District Board. A son, Malcolm Dickerson, died in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Ida "Sis" Dickerson; a daughter, Peggy Jones of Warsaw; a brother, Harold Dickerson of Warsaw; sisters, Betty Samuels of Sparta and Elaine Sale of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.
Sherlin Wilson Gill, 57, of Maysville, died at 2:35 a.m. Monday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was a retired Army veteran and a member of Hill Avenue Glorious Church of God, Maysville.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Gill; a son, Albert James Tant Wilson Gill; daughters, Angela Machelle Davis of Fitchburg, Mass., Janette Alane DiMarcantonio of Dry Ridge; stepsons, Joseph Sams Morgan of Butler and Jonathan Wayne Morgan of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter, Amanda Kaye Morgan of Cincinnati; brothers, William Thomas Gill of Georgetown, Ohio, and James Vernon Gill of Flemingsburg; a sister, Verdena Irene Mitchell of Dover; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brell Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. today. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Maysville. After graveside services Thursday, there will be a reception from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the Orangeburg Community Center.
Sharon Jean Herald, 39, of Erlanger, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Survivors include her parents, Mitchel and Cindy Herald of Erlanger; sisters, Mima Herald and Amber Asche, both of Erlanger, and Irene Turner of Walton; and brothers, Mitchel Herald Jr. of Fort Mitchell and Joseph Asche of Jackson.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Buck Herald Cemetery, Breathitt County.
Skylar Ann Hildebrand, 13 days, daughter of Bobby Hildebrand and Amanda Baker of Covington, died Monday at her home.
Other survivors include a brother, Rain Coyle of Covington; and grandparents, Chester and Joy Baker of Covington, Deborah and Larry Boggs of Covington, and Robert and Donna Hildebrand of Covington.
Services will be at noon Thursday at TLC Cremation Co., Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Drew Mullins, child of Jason Scott Mullins and Amy Lower Mullins of Berry, was stillborn at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
Other survivors include a sister, Sarah Mullins, at home; grandparents, Jerry and Pat Lower of Dry Ridge, James E. "Red" and Judy Mullins of Berry; and great-grandparents, Billy Frank and Ella Simpson of Williamstown, Lora Lower of Dry Ridge and Aileen Mullins of Dry Ridge.
Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at Broad Ridge Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Katherine Murrell, 51, of Butler, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Arno Adams Rose, 83, of Crescent Springs, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Crescent Springs Church of God. Her husband, Charles S. Rose, died in 2001. A stepdaughter, Edith Rose Lipps, died in 1970.
Survivors include a daughter, Janna Vee Sowers of Hebron; a stepson, Edward Rose of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Ruby Adams of Science Hill, Pauline Mofield and Lucy Thompson, both of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 tonight at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Arlington Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Lester Sebastian Sr., 79, of Newport, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired shipping department worker with Fischer Body Co., Cincinnati, a member of the United Auto Workers and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Sebastian; daughters, Janis Turner and Deborah Sue Turner, both of Newport; a son, Lester Sebastian Jr. of Cincinnati; brothers, Granville Sebastian and Johnnie Sebastian, both of Florence; a sister, Bessie Turner of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick.
Ernest Lee Smith, 101, of Cincinnati, died Sunday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired mechanic with Metro bus system. His wife, Sallie Mae Hampton Smith, a son, Robert Smith, and a daughter, Pauline Smith, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include a nephew, Charles Hampton of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Covington. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mary Smith Cemetery, Elsmere. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Geneva Turner, 79, of Ludlow, died Monday at St. Charles Care Center, Fort Wright. She was a former production line worker with Nutone, Inc. Her husband, George Turner, died in 1990.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Cogswell of Park Hills and Brenda Janning of Southlake, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
