John Dorsey, 61, investigator
John Dorsey spent most of his 30-year career as a criminal investigator with the United States Treasury Department traveling from post to post. But when it was time to retire, his choice was to live in Kentucky.
In his younger days, Mr. Dorsey parachuted from planes and was a scuba diver. After retirement, he became a homebody, according to Maureen "Marti" Dorsey, his wife of 19 years. "He loved to work in the yard and do gardening, " said Mrs. Dorsey.
On Thursday, Mr. Dorsey, 61, died at his home in Cold Spring.
"We came here because my family lived in Cincinnati, " said Marti Dorsey. "But we liked Kentucky better than Ohio. We built a new home and have a beautiful yard. . . . People used to come to him and ask advice about all types of yard and garden issues."
Mr. Dorsey also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. "He would take them shopping and to the zoo, he just liked playing with them, " his wife said.
"He was a good man, very honest. He'll be missed greatly."
Mr. Dorsey was an Army veteran of the 101st Airborne Division.
