Verona Marie Davies, age 78 of Sun Prairie, formerly of Eldorado and Eagle River, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2002 at Waunakee Manor Nursing Home in Waunakee, Wisconsin. She was born on January 26, 1924 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Jesse and Laura (Draves) Tabbert. She married
Quentin John Davies on October 23, 1943 in Eldorado. Verona had attended and graduated from the Winnebago Lutheran Academy (W.L.A.) and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church (WELS) in Sun Prairie and was a previous twenty year member of Christ Lutheran Church in Eagle River. Verona was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved being around people, especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Quentin, of Sun Prairie; a son, Lyle (Katherine) Davies of Eldorado; a daughter, Doris (Larry) Schauff of Sun Prairie; four grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Davies, Kimberly Davies, Tara and Todd Schauff. She is further survived by a brother, Lyle (Eunice) Tabbert of Eldorado and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman.
Funeral services for Verona will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Family and friends may call at the funeral chapel from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
Verona’s family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Waunakee Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support while Verona resided there.

Leone Helen Haynes, age of Oshkosh, passed away on June 10, 2002 at Ripon Medical Center. She was born on July 31, 1921 in Racine to James and Katherine (Weinstock) Boden. Dolly married
Lester C. Haynes on September 1, 1945 in South Milwaukee and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1986. Dolly was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons: Donald (Traci) Haynes of Oshkosh; Gregory (Kim) Haynes of Fond du Lac; one daughter: Cynthia (Peter) Froehlich of Oshkosh; five grandchildren: Brian Haynes, Laura Haynes, Stephanie Haynes, Matthew Haynes, and April Froehlich; one sister: Dolores (Frank) Roberts of Sun City, Arizona; a very good friend: Barbara Froehlich of Oshkosh; and nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her many friends at Simeanna I and her long time neighborhood friends.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and an infant daughter: Gloria Haynes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the chapel. A memorial in Dolly’s memory is being established by her family.
Our mother was a woman of integrity, love, and devotion. May the Lord bless her and hold her near.

Cleo V. Paffenroth, age 78, of Oshkosh, died Friday afternoon June 14, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on October 23, 1923 in Oshkosh to Clarence and Fern (Payton) Vogt. Cleo married
Richard J. Paffenroth on December 29, 1954 in Illinois and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1977.
Cleo was employed as a salesclerk at Mueller-Potter Drug Store and was a security officer at Wittman Airport for several years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Cleo enjoyed musical functions and taking care of her yard.
Survivors include two sons: Richard Paffenroth Jr. and Russell Paffenroth both of Oshkosh; one brother-in-law: Alvin Pfaffenroth of Oshkosh; a special companion: her dog-Sugar.
A memorial service was held on Monday, June 17, 2002 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, with Reverend Clyde Friedman officiating. Inurnment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Oshkosh Humane Society in Cleo’s memory.
Bessie Helen Kromm

Bessie H. Kromm, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Thursday evening, June 13, 2002 at Bethel Home. She was born on January 8, 1910 in Wyatt, Missouri to Henry and Eva May (Crow) Vowels. Bessie married
Henry Kromm on August 14, 1937 in Oshkosh and he proceeded in death on August 15, 1984.
Bessie was employed by Sexton Can Company as an inspector prior to her retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Women of Zion. Traveling, reading, and crossword puzzles were favorite hobbies of Bessie’s.
Survivors include two daughters: Gloria Jean (Leon) Klatt of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Wilma (Eugene) Wilson of Oshkosh; two sons: Henry Kromm Jr. of Oshkosh and Floyd (Rose) Kromm of Oshkosh; five grandchildren: Donald (Jayne) Wilson of Tacoma, Washington, Patti Wilson of Oshkosh, Jeffrey (Maureen) Klatt of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Kromm of Oshkosh and Deborah (Todd) Schmick of Omro; five great grandchildren: Sarah Bess (Darrin) Anderson, Brandon Stahmann, Elizabeth Klatt, Stephen Klatt, and Mathew Kromm; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant son: Richard John Kromm, a granddaughter: Cheryl Ann Pochkowski, two brothers: Clarence and Joseph Vowels, and two sisters: Della Fredrick and Mayme Bringman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2002 at 11:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church, 400 North Sawyer Street, with Reverends Gerald Nerenhausen and Clyde Friedman officiating. Interment will follow services at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund may be made in Bessie’s memory.

Virginia R. Olson, age 82, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Bethel Home. She was born on June 6, 1920 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Melvin and Madge (Flanigan) LaPoint. Virginia married
Roland Victor Olson on May 11, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. Roland preceded her in death on February 11, 1988. Virginia will be sadly missed and remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole (Robert) Kujawa of Des Plaines, Illinois; four sons, Robin (Theresa) Olson of Milwaukee, Randy Olson of Chicago, Michael (Mary) Olson of Darien, Illinois, Ronald (Sandy) Olson of Schaumburg, Illinois. She is further survived by fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Eder of Oshkosh and a brother, Donald (Lucille) LaPoint of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by a son, Joey Olson.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Chapel, 300 North Eagle Street, with the Reverend Calvin Reyburn officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in the Town of Poygan.
