Anna Littleton Depew, nurse and antique car enthusiast
Anna Littleton Depew, registered nurse and an antique car enthusiast, died at 1:58 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. She was 60.
Mrs. Depew, of Taylor Mill, had been a nurse for Concentra Managed Care in Cincinnati. She and her husband owned vintage autos and were members of the Ohio Valley Model A Club, BlueGrass Horseless Carriage Club and the NOKEN Model T Club.
"She planned trips for the club and organized events, " said her sister, Audrey Brennan of Cold Spring.
"She was a very outgoing person. Her greatest quality was the way she loved and cared for people, " she said.
Mrs. Depew had been a nurse at William Booth Memorial Hospital in Covington, and also was a head nurse of the Intensive Care ward at Booth Hospital in Florence, her sister said. She also was a diabetic educator at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence, and was active with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kentucky, Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research.
"She was very creative, " her sister said. "She loved gardening and she made beautiful dolls. She could take nothing and make it beautiful, " she said.
Nursing was a perfect career for her, her sister said. "She had a lot of strength and knowledge about life. she was very level-headed and an organizer. She knew how to get things done in every aspect of life, " she said.
"She was a teacher in everything she did. She was very well respected by her peers - nurses and doctors."
Mrs. Depew learned in November that she had breast cancer. Even as she fought the disease, she worked to educate others about it, her sister said.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Depew of Taylor Mill; a son, Scott Turner of Dayton; a daughter, Sheri R. Bennett of Independence; stepsons, Terry Scott Depew of Taylor Mill, and Jeff A. Depew of Erlanger; parents, Glen and Sabra Littleton of Brooksville; brothers, Larry Littleton of Wellsburg, and Ron Littleton of Cincinnati; a sister, Audrey Brennan of Cold Spring; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step- grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home in Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Oscar Elwood Adams, 71, of Florence, died Sunday at his residence. He was an electrician and machinist for D.C. Morrison in Covington. He also was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Norma (Proffitt) Adams of Florence; sons, Randy Adams of Erlanger, and Mike Adams of Williamstown; brothers, Glendale Adams of Mount Sterling, and Mitchel Adams of Frenchburg; a sis ter, Carolyn Sue Adams of Stanford; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Powell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Adams Cemetery, Salt Lick. Robert Lee Besecker, 59, of Cincinnati, died Saturday at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a retired teacher.
Survivors include his son, Geoffrey L. Besecker of Alexandria, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria. There will be no visitation.

Lillian I. Bzdyl, 85, of Florence, died Sunday.
Survivors include a son, Donald G. Bzdyl of Florence; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services and visitation will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Emblem cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill.

Paris Davis, 90, of Robertson County, died Sunday at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet. He was a member of the Kentontown Christian Church. He was a retired Sailor Orphanage employee. A daughter, Margaret Davis, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Marie McKeever Davis of Robertson County; sons, Bill Davis of Lebanon, Ohio, and Gary Davis of Ringgold, Ga.; daughters, Suzanne Leyes of Waynesville, Ohio, Carline Burken of Powell, Wyoming, and Mary Mitchell of Mount Olivet; a brother, Thornhill Davis of Kettering; a sister, Julia Thompson of Piketon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Robertson County Funeral Home in Mt. Olivet, and from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.
David M. Elam, 70, of Louisville, died Sunday, at Caritas Medical Center, Louisville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a maintenance employee at Carbon Graphite.
Survivors include a daughter, Melaney Stinson of Louisville; sisters, Wilma Darlene Higgins of Warsaw, Norma Jean Rollins and Viola Morris both of Verona; brothers Bobby and Donald Elam, both of Verona.
Services will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville and from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Bethel cemetery in Verona.
Ferne K. (Smith) Reinermann, 97, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Sunday at St. Margaret Hall in Cincinnati.
Her husband, Paul S. Reinermann, and a son Bill Reinermann, preceded her in death. She was a former member of St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Rita Smalley of Springfield, Ill.; and Joan Hess of San Ramon, Calif.; a son, Paul S. Reinermann, Jr. of Camp Springs; 18 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Wednesday at St. Thomas Church. Prayers will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. James Warren Sawyer, 60, of Lexington, formerly of Covington, died Wednesday at Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was a graduate of Covington Catholic High School and Xavier University. He was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired from IBM and was associated with Fouser Environmental in Versailles.
Survivors include a daughter, Erin Renee Banks of Lexington; and three grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held Sat. May 25, at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church. Memorials are suggested to the parish church or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, Ky. 40504.

Celeste S. (Wagner) Schneider, 94, of Fort Wright, died Sunday at her daughter's residence. Her husband, Ralph P. Schneider, and daughter, Mary Lou Schneider, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Carol R. Smith and Eileen J. Schneider, both of Fort Wright; a son, Thomas F. Schneider, also of Fort Wright; a brother, Kenneth J. Wagner of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Immaculata Church in Mount Adams. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:50 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery.

Howard B. Sipple, 77, of Villa Hills, died Sunday at his residence. He was a retired clerk with CSX Railroad. He was a member of Hilltop Church of Christ in Taylor Mill. He also was a member of the Covington Masonic Lodge No. 109 F&AM, American Legion Post 203, a member of the Buck Jones Rangers and the Fleet Tug Association. Sipple also was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Shell Sipple; a son, Bernie W. Sipple of Corbin; a brother, Jack Sipple of Covington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hilltop Church of Christ in Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, with masonic services at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, with graveside military honor guard services.
