Margaret Reis, helped disabled war veterans
Margaret Lucille Hardman Reis, 89, of Dayton, who volunteered to help disabled war veterans, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
She was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Nursing Home in Fort Thomas and a former president of the Kersten O'Day Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2899 Women's Auxiliary in Dayton.
She was a former kitchen worker at Speers Hospital in Dayton and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue.
"Her brother served in World War II and lost his hand and she was always concerned about the veterans, " said Mrs. Reis' daugh ter, Jane Hebel of Dayton.
"She liked crafts and crocheted American flags and almost all the kids in the neighborhood had one. She also made Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls."
Mrs. Reis had a dozen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
"She loved going to her grandchildren's weddings and had a spe cial dress she wore to the weddings, " noted Mrs. Hebel. "She will be buried in that dress."
Mrs. Reis' husband, Walter W. Reis, died in 1979.
Other survivors include daughters, Joyce Ackerson of Newport, Nancy Ellis of California and Norma Penick of Fort Mitchell, and sisters, Viola Groeschen of Brooksville and Lulu Wiley of Bellevue.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home in Bellevue. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Erlanger.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Pauline Benton, 96, of New Richmond, Ohio, formerly of California, died Tuesday at Dobbin's Nursing Home in New Richmond.
Arrangements are pending at Alexandria Funeral Home.
Frank Nicholas Clem, 34, of Independence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Survivors include daughters, Samantha Clem and Sarah Clem, both of Erlanger; his parents, William D. and Catherine Clem of Independence; sisters, Marie Maines of Butler, Evelyn Piepmeier of Fort Wright and Catherine Douglas of Villa Hills; and brothers, John Campbell of Gainesville, Fla., and Steve Clem of Villa Hills.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, is handling arrangements.
Hattie Virginia Creekmore, 82, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a retired seamstress with Mack Shirt Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include cousins.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Dayton, is handling arrangements.
Barbara Faye Maybrier Durr, 55, of Dry Ridge, died Monday at her home.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Durr of Crittenden; a daughter, Holly Eickhoff of Newport; a half- sister, Michael Middendorf of Independence; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Mike Heidrich, 33, of Fort Mitchell, died of natural causes Sunday at parents' home in Erlanger.
He was a stock clerk with Remke's grocery stores and a former member of the Erlanger Fire Department. He was a volunteer with Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Mitchell.
Survivors include his parents, Gil Heidrich and Marge Heidrich, both of Erlanger; brothers, Steve Heidrich of Taylor Mill, Greg Heidrich of Indianapolis and Kevin Heidrich of Edgewood; and sisters, Peggy Armstrong of Edgewood, Linda Wilkin of Crescent Springs, Judy DeMuro of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Ann Maniaci of Burlington.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Thursday at St. Barbara Church, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Cremation will be at Southwest Ohio Crematory, Milford, Ohio. Harold Howard, 69, of Cynthiana, died early today. Arrangements are pending at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry.
Ginger Lee Martz, 47, of Edgewood, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was an owner of Martz Fine Jewelry, Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, Randall Martz; sons, Kevin Martz and Justin Martz, both of Edgewood; brothers, James Mays of Grove City, Ohio, Randy Mays of Corinth, Terry Mays and Paul Mays, both of New port; and sisters, Debbie Ollberding of Dayton, Joan Fryman of Taylor Mill and Paula Ackerson of Alexandria.

Eva Ruth Mockbee, 76, of Walton, died Tuesday at Villa Springs of Erlanger. She was a retired envelope machine operator with Gibson Greeting Card Co.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Mary Evelyn Sizemore, of Walton, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a retired owner of Sizemore Manufacturing Co., Boone County, and a member of Walton First Baptist Church, Eastern Star of Florence and Walton Lions Club Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Sizemore.

John W. Spicer, 59, of Covington, died at 8:17 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retail salesman with Dick's Sporting Goods and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Hitter Spicer; a son, Jason Spicer of Richwood; and a sister, Sharon Hiles of Kenton County.
