Arnold Johnson, vice chairman of Ohio National Life Insurance
Arnold A. Johnson's peers said the retired vice chairman of the Ohio National Life Insurance Co. was someone to emulate - both for his career accomplishments and his community service.
Mr. Johnson, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Friday at Marjorie P. Lee Nursing Home in Cincinnati. He was 91 years old.
"Admired by his peers for his skill as an institutional investor, Mr. Johnson wielded a major influence over the development and implementation of Ohio National's investment policy for over 30 years - a policy which has kept the company in the vanguard of investment performance within the industry throughout that span of time, " stated a resolution adopted by the board of directors when Mr. Johnson retired in 1975.
"Success in the investment world demands the extension of one's interests into many arenas beyond the company, " the board continued, pointing out that Mr. Johnson's community involvement included stints in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s as a member and president of both the St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas and the Fort Thomas Board of Education.
