Georgiana R. Fredrick, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday morning, December 10, 2002 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on August 1, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa to Peter and Laura (Clawson) Canaris. Georgiana married
Arthur A. Fredrick on September 21, 1946 in Markesan, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1984.
Georgiana was a graduate of Jane Lamb School of Nursing in Iowa and was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son: Stephen A. (Kay) Fredrick of Vernon Hills, Illinois; two grandsons: Jeffrey J. Fredrick of Round Lake Beach, Illinois and Matthew A. Fredrick of New Berlin, Wisconsin; two brothers: Robert Hinkle and John Hinkle both of Iowa; and one sister: Carmen Barr of Iowa.
Georgiana was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers: Richard Canaris and Peter Hinkle; and one sister: Marcella Graber.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh. Family and friends may gather at the funeral chapel on Friday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interment will be on Saturday at Lake View Memorial Park.

Kathleen M. Messenger, age 55, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2002, at her home in Oshkosh. She was born in Los Angeles, California on March 19, 1947 to Geraldine and Thomas C. Bauman. Kathleen married
Richard A. Messenger on June 14, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve as the first female recruiter in Los Angeles.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Messenger; four children, Shannon, Kenneth, Mathew and Patrick; and three stepchildren, Richard, Douglas and Allison. She is also survived by her mother, Geraldine Reece, and brothers, Thomas and Stephen Bauman all of California.
Private family services have been arranged through Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Kathleen was a caring, compassionate woman who would take anyone under her wing and help as much as possible. She is dearly missed and remembered in our hearts.

Mary E. Wolff, age 83, of New Berlin formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at Linden Grove Care Center in New Berlin. She was born on April 22, 1919 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Alva and Clara Disch. Mary married
Arlie H. Wolff on August 2, 1941.
Survivors include a son, Arthur (Judy) Wolff of New Berlin and a daughter, Carol (Ollie) Wolff-Reinertson of Cathedral City, California; a brother, Ed (Elaine) Disch of Evanston, Il.; two granddaughters, Christa (Rob) Houle and Colleen (Nate) Loper both of Oshkosh; a great-granddaughter, Megan Mary Loper. A niece, Lisa Disch of Minneapolis, MN also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Margaret Simons.
A memorial service for Mary will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lake View Memorial Park cemetery Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh, with the Reverend Kevin Mundell officiating. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary’s family wishes a special thank you to staff at the Linden Grove Care Center in New Berlin, for the excellent care given to Mary while she resided there.

Roman F. Griep, age 86, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday, December 16, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born February 23, 1916 in Oshkosh, a son of the late John and Mary (Glaeser) Griep. Roman married
Lucile C. Wirtz on November 7, 1953 in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2001.
Surviving are his children, Carol (Robert) Boede of Winneconne, Michael (Marla) Griep of Glenview, Illinois and Jane Griep of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Andrew Roman Griep, Michael Taylor Griep and Jaime Wolfe; brother, Fredrick (Helen) Griep of Oshkosh; sisters, Elizabeth Griep of Oshkosh and Pauline Vilz of St. Paul, Minnesota; and several close friends.
Roman was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Eagles Club and Oshkosh Street Civic Association. He had worked for Binder Beverages for 58 years and was also a bartender at Shoreview Lanes.
A celebration of Roman’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, the Deacon Raymond Brandstein officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Seefeld Oregon Street Chapel on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
