Sister Mary Eugenio, served church 59 years
Sister Mary Eugenio, 80, of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Park Hills, died Thursday at the Sisters of Notre Dame convent.
Formerly Rita V. Chappie, she served the Catholic church 59 years, including 52 years in the Diocese of Covington and Archdiocese of Cincinnati as a teacher, administrator, organist and support coordinator for the sick and elderly.
"She was a very happy person, generous and very kind, " said Sister Mary Rose Paula, a friend of Sister Mary Eugenio. "She had a good sense of humor, enjoyed life very much and was a friend of everyone.
"She taught in elementary schools and was principal at some elementary schools. She also taught religion and music. She was an excellent organist and played for many services.
Sister Mary Eugenio spent her last 12 years at St. Charles Care Center in Covington, giving support to the elderly and sick. "She was a real 'people person' and the residents there loved her, " said Sister Mary Rose Paula.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Chappie of Covington; and sisters, Frances Putthoff and Verna Glindmeyer, both of Covington.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial House chapel. Visitation will be there from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a wake service at 5 p.m. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the convent cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Sis ters of Notre Dame, 1601 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, Ky. 41011. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Mary Frances Alcorn, 79, of Newport, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a leather specialist and a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church, Newport. Her husband, Otis Alcorn, daughters, Alma B. Lane and Hazel Whittamore, and a son, William Alcorn, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Wesley Alcorn of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Betty Eversole of Newport; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home, Georgetown. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. today. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Stamping Ground.
Jack Barth, 49, of Alexandria, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospice, Lexington. He was an exterminator with Snow Ball Pest Control and a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria and the Greater Cincinnati Beagle Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristi Pryor of Erlanger; a son, Jeremy Barth of Alexandria; sisters, Thelma Martin of Alexandria, Agnes Bradley of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Shirley Mayes of Butler and Margaret Sturdivent of Covington; brothers, David Barth and Bill Barth, both of Alexandria; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.
Robert Keith Dunn, 84, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a former driver with Greyhound Bus Co., and a member of Good Faith Lodge No. 95, Scottish Rite Temple in Covington, Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423 in Erlanger and American Legion Post No. 77, Walton. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Dunn of Southgate; a daughter, Regina Lundy of the state of California; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423, 4435 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Ky. 41018.
Joan A. Fluskey, 70, of Florence, died Wednesday at her home. She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Edward Fluskey Sr. of Florence; a son, Dr. Robert E. Fluskey Jr. of Olive Hill; daughters, Deborah Koreneff of Los Alamitos, Calif., and Dr. Lynda Newman of Burlington; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charlotte Fay Jenkins, 48, of Latonia, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
She was a directory assistance operator with Cincinnati Bell.
Survivors include her parents, Ray and Fay Maxine Dunn Jenkins of Latonia; and a sister, Patty M. Medley of Taylor Mill.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Mary Ellen Lillis, 82, of Cincinnati, formerly of Latonia, died Thursday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Western Hills Campus, Cincinnati.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Ada B. Lockhart, 95, of Park Hills, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a receptionist and bookkeeper with Danne Miller Electric Co., and a member of Florence Baptist Church and the Young Grandmothers Club. Her husband, Joseph E. Lockhart, died in 1953. A son, Joseph T. Lockhart, died in 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Jean Lockhart of Park Hills; a sister, Frankie Brothers of Lexington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Vivian Marie Alderson Ludwick, 61, of Elsmere, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a teacher with Northern Kentucky CAC-Head Start. A son, Todd S. Ludwick, died in 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Ludwick; sons, James Alderson of Florence, Anthony Ludwick and Tracy Ludwick, both of Elsmere; daughters, Roslyn Luke of Cincinnati, Theresa Ludwick and Mary Maury, both of Elsmere; brothers, Paul and Eugene Alderson, both of Elsmere; a sister, Lillie Mae Baker of Elsmere; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mary Smith Cemetery, Elsmere. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Robert Glenn Minger, 77, of Burlington, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired hospital and nursing home administrator at Allegheny Memorial Hospital in Covington, Va., Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg and Beverly Enterprises. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Minger; sons, Robert Michael Minger of Burlington, Brett Allan Minger of New Haven, Conn., and Timothy Paul Minger of Chicago; a daughter, Suzanne Marie Orndorff of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; a brother, Keith Minger of Milan, Ind.; sisters, Wilma Terry of Bedford, Ind., Ruth Havey of Greendale, Ind., and Norma Bardford of Burlington; and a grandson.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Burlington. Burial will be in Greendale, Ind., Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington, is handling arrangements.
Helen Moore, 81, of Florence, died Thursday at Florence Park Care Center.
Arrangements are pending with Stith Funeral Home, Florence.
Hazel Roaden, 74, of Cold Spring, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker. A daughter, Judy Wise, died in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Roaden; daughter, Teresa Wagner and Norma Roaden, both of Cold Spring, and Carol Kite of Alexandria; sons, Edward Roaden of Crestview and Kanzie Roaden of Silver Grove; sisters, Bobbie Jean Jordan of Dutch Valley, Tenn., and Louie Phillips of Lake City, Tenn.; brothers, Jimmy Phillips of Lake City and Jerry Phillips of Briceville, Tenn.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
