Robert 'Jay' Vogel Jr., 45, graphic artist
Robert "Jay" James Vogel Jr., a graphic artist from Highland Heights, died Thursday at University Hospital in Cincinnati following a heart attack.
He was 45.
Mr. Vogel had been a graphic artist for Kenner Toys in Cincinnati and helped set up the prototype displays for the National Toy Fair in New York City.
He enjoyed building model automobiles and won several ribbons for his models, said his mother, Patricia L. Vogel of Highland Heights.
He also was a woodworker and painter.
"He was interested in Indian folk lore and would make dream catchers, " his mother said. "When his nieces and nephews were going through bad dreams, he made them dream catchers to hang in their windows. He was was a loving and very talented man."
Mr. Vogel, who was divorced, "dearly loved his son, " his mother said.
Survivors include his parents, Robert J. and Patricia L. Vogel of Highland Heights; a son, Robert Scott Vogel of Fort Thomas; and brothers, Christopher John Vogel of Fort Thomas and Richard Jeffrey Vogel of Amelia, Ohio.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m Monday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.

Kenneth R. Beach, 53, of Corinth, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Beach of Corinth; sons, Lewis Wayne Beach and Kenneth Ray Beach, both of Carrollton; daughters, Linda Ann Beach and Kelly Jo Beach, both of Carrollton; stepsons, Lloyd Roberts of Falmouth, Lonnie Roberts of Mount Vernon and Gary Roberts, Donald Roberts and Wilburn Roberts, all of Corinth; stepdaughters, Pauline Abner and Wanda Wainscott, both of Corinth; a sister, Alma Proctor of Warsaw; brothers, Clifford Beach of Campbellsburg, Johnny Beach of Vevay, Ind., and Teddie Beach, Bill Beach and Lewis Beach, all of Carrollton; and 12 step grandchildren.
Services will be at 5 p.m. today at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.
Sue Bolotta-Miller, 46, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a factory worker.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Miller of Covington; a daughter, Chastity Bolotta of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter, Lora Avery of Newark, Ohio; and a stepson, Bryon Miller of Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Cremation will be at South West Ohio Crematory, Milford, Ohio. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington, is handling the arrangements.
Margie C. Collins, 67, of Alexandria, died at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Collins of Alexandria; sons, Terry M. Collins of Middletown, Ohio, and Jeffery A. Collins of Sidney, Ohio; a daughter, Karen Collins Chinetti of Florence; a brother, Burley Caudill of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Ida Mae Caudill of Dayton, Ohio, Georgia Spicer of Middletown, Ohio, and Bobbie Stiver of Germantown, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Kathleen Cecelia Noonan Marlin, 93, of Carrollton, died Friday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker and member of St. John Catholic Church, Carrollton, and Carroll County Senior Citizens Group. Her husband, George Frederick Neal Marlin, died in 1969. A son, Peter Neal Marlin, died in 1960.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Marlin of Midland, Mich.; three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Catho lic Church. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church.
Bobbie H. Myers, 93, of Allentown, Pa., formerly of Florence, died Thursday at her daughter's home in Allentown. She was a homemaker and member of Newport First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include sons, Ralph "Bud" Myers of Fayetteville, Ohio, and Don Myers of Erlanger; a daughter, Charlotte Moore of Allentown; nine grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family .

Benjamin Franklin Slayback Jr., 77, of Florence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was an employee of Wiedemann Brewery and a member of St. Paul Church, Florence. His wife, Edith T. Slayback, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence Joseph Slayback of Florence; a daughter, Linda Anne Thompson of Florence; a brother, William L. Slayback of Petersburg; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Church . Entombment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Alyssa Renee Thompson, 5 months, of Fort Thomas, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include her parents, Amanda L. and Stephen W. Thompson of Florence; a sister, Kaylynn Luster of Florence; a brother, Stephen Thompson of Florence; paternal grandmother, Nina Luster of Florence; and maternal grandparents, Teresa and Elman Thompson of Alexandria.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Ella Mae Vietor, 82, of Erlanger, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Henry Church, Elsmere, and Prime Time Seniors. Her husband, Leo Vietor, died in 1993.
Survivors include daughters, Verna Fugazzi of Fort Mitchell, Sherry Gibb of Richmond, Va., and Debby Dutle of Newport; a son, Thomas Vietor of Taylor Mill; a brother, Bill Pieper of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Laverne Sterling and Mary Lee Mertin, both of Fort Mitchell; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Henry Church. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Nolan Welch, 88, of Burlington, died Thursday at his home.
He was a retired steel worker for Youngstown Sheet and Steel Co. His wife, Bessie Welch, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Lou Connelly of Newman, Ga., Maria Wade of Florence and Pearlee Bloodsaw and Denise Wilson, both of Burlington; sons, Myron Welch of Owenton, Samuel Welch of Burlington and Nolan Allen Welch, Robert J. Welch and David Welch, all of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Smeater Welch of Gary, Ind., and Elmo Welch of Detroit, Mich.; 26 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Elsmere. Visitation begins at noon Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
