Edward Pendery, park was 'proudest accompishment'
Edward S. Pendery's best-known legacy to Campbell County is the one he was proudest of: the 72-acre Campbell County park near Melbourne that bears his name.
"My father was so proud of his family, his business and all his years of service to the county, but it was the park that was his proudest accomplishment, " said Michael Pendery of Kenton Vale.
"It was quite a bit of work and it took several years. He was so proud and so surprised when they named it after him, " Michael Pendery said. "He didn't see that coming at all."
Nancy Burck Pendery, his wife of 43 years, said her husband was involved in every facet of the park, from the idea to the final placement of equipment.
