Billy Joe Dean, 54, Scott teacher, coach
Billy Joe Dean, 54, of Latonia, a former Scott High School teacher and baseball coach, died Wednesday at Lakeside Health Care Center in Highland Heights.

Mr. Dean had suffered a massive stroke Oct. 21.
He taught school 27 years, specializing in psychology and sociology. He also served as Scott's baseball coach for many years.
Mr. Dean graduated from Holmes High School and attended Cumberland College on a cross country scholarship.
However, his education was interrupted by the war in Vietnam, where he served in the U.S. Army.
Returning home in 1971, Mr. Dean continued college at Northern Kentucky University, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees.
"He was a very gregarious person, with lots of friends, " said Mr. Dean's wife of nearly 30 years, Nora L. Hitch Dean. "He had a great sense of humor.
"He devoted most of his life to education. He also enjoyed traveling, taking a lot of day trips."
Other survivors include brothers, Basil Dean of Phoenix and Johnny Dean of Indianapolis; and sisters, Fran Broome of Florence, Helen Graydon of Palm Coast, Fla., Ann Dunavent of Indianapolis and Pat Shook of Dry Ridge.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home in Latonia.
Visitation will begin there at noon Saturday.

Mildred "Graw-Graw" Young Cleek, 88, of Walton, died Wednesday at her granddaughter's home.
She was a retired postmaster for the Walton Post Office and a member of Walton Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Coreta Rice Cheesman of Walton; a brother, Virgil "Bud" Young of Walton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Walton Christian Church, 50 S. Main St., Walton, Ky. 41094.
Shirley Louise Combs, 63, of Glencoe, died Thursday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church, Warsaw. Her husband, Melbert Ray "Duke" Combs, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Hiles of Glencoe; sons, Ronald Downing of Woodlawn, Tenn., and David Combs of Glencoe; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Virginia Johnson, 90, of Erlanger, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Springs Nursing Home, Erlanger.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Johnson of Georgetown, Ind., and Jack Wilson of Union; four grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wolfes Cemetery, Georgetown, Ind. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home, Georgetown. Glenn Roy Meyers, 82, of Florence, died Thursday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. He was a retired self-employed salesman, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Covington and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Meyers; a son, Glenn D. Meyers of Erlanger; brothers, Billy Meyers, Paul Meyers and Ron Meyers, all of Portsmouth, Carl Meyers of Sarasota, Fla., Ralph Meyers of Severn, Md., Dick Meyers of Careyville, Tenn., and Raymond Meyers of Greenville, Ohio; sisters, Loretta Nolan of Lakeworth, Fla., Alvata Long of Portsmouth, Barbara Lewis of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Hazeldine Meyers of Bradenton, Fla.; and one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
William Lindsay Osborne, 45, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a heating and cooling technician and electrician with Airtron Heating and Air Co., Erlanger, and a member of Carroll County Ambulance Service and Ghent Fire Protection District. He was an emergency medical technician with Carroll County and a CPR instructor.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Osborne; a daughter, Ashley Osborne of Carrollton; a stepdaughter, Stacey Mathis of Covington; stepsons, Fred Mathis and David Mathis, both of Covington; his parents, Charles Osborne of Carrollton and Minnie Gammon of Miamiville, Ohio; three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at noon Saturday. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. Anne Orem Parker, 72, of Maysville, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. She was owner of Parker Travel Agency and Where in the World Gift Shop, both in Maysville, and a founding member and past president of Maysville Players. She was a member of Kentucky Humanities Council, Maysville Tourism Commission, the Underground Railroad Museum, American Society of Travel Agents and Hayswood Hospital Auxiliary Board. She was a past president of the Downtown Association of Maysille and was a volunteer with Mason Manor and Red Cross blood drives.
Survivors include her husband, Sanford Roff Parker; daughters, Sallie Parker Lotz of Cold Spring, M. Margaret "Peggy" Parker of Mays Lick and Ellen Parker Smith of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; sons, William Preston "Kip" Parker of Athens, Ohio, and James Orem Parker of Taylor Mill; and 11 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was this morning at St. Rose of Lima Church, Mays Lick. Burial was in Mays Lick Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Maysville Players, 116 W. Second St., Maysville, Ky. 41056. Knox and Brothers Funeral Home, Maysville, is handling arrangements.
Constance Walden, 46, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Walden; daughters, Brittani Walden and Lacey Walden, both of Covington; brothers, Wayne Hensley and Jack Payne, both of Verona; and a sister, Bettie Walker of Cincinnati.

Michelle Crail Watson, 22, of Dayton, died Tuesday at her home. She was a waitress for Frisch's.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Watson of Alexandria; a daughter, Hannah Watson of Alexandria; her father and stepmother, Michael and Rebecca Crail of Melbourne; her mother, Sherry Kincaid of Dayton; sisters, Heather Ayers of Warrensburg, Mich., and Jennifer Crail of Alexandria; a stepsister, Elisha Edwards of Burlington; and grandparents, Carol and Henry Eggie of Melbourne, and Mary Tischner of Melbourne.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Camp Springs.
Robert Wenstrup, 76, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Fort Thomas, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a vice president of Perry and Derrick Co. and a member of the Audubon Society, Highland Country Club, Leland, Mich., Country Club, Leelanau Conservancy and the Leland Yacht Club. He was a member of the board of directors of Perry and Derrick Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wenstrup; sons, James Wenstrup of Cold Spring, Larry Wenstrup, Michael Wenstrup and Mark Wenstrup, all of Fort Thomas; and nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
