Wanda Louise House, city clerk assistant
Wanda Louise House was not afraid to speak her mind, a trait that stood her in good stead as an assistant in the Falmouth City Clerk's Office for 16 years -- and as a mother.
"She was very direct. She would tell you just how it was, and not sugar-coat anything, " said a daughter, JoAnn Sowder of Hamilton, Ohio.
Equally clear was her mother's concern for others, Mrs. Sowder said. "She was loved by all."
Mrs. House died Wednesday at the Mason Health Care Center in Mason, Ohio. She was 77.
Mrs. House was born and reared in Pendleton County.
She and her husband, Frank Alexander House, had been married
14 years when he died in 1956.
Mrs. House worked for the Falmouth City Clerk's Office from 1969 to 1986.
"She liked to sew and cook and garden, " said Linda L. Cole of West Chester, Ohio, another of Mrs. House's daughters.
"She liked to go fishing. She especially liked to take the grandchildren fishing with her."
Mrs. House was a member of Franklin Christian Church in Carlisle, Ohio.
Besides Mrs. Sowder and Mrs. Cole, Mrs. House is survived by a daughter, Janice L. Moore of Hamilton, Ohio; a brother, K. W. Ramsey of Hamilton, Ohio; sisters, Vivian Hampton of Florence a nd Vernetta Little of Carlisle, Ohio; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Amy Allegretti, 62, of Covington, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday at her home. She was a self-employed dog trainer and groomer.
There are no immediate survivors.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Catchen Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Danny Capps, 56, of Williamstown, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a farmer worker.
Survivors include brothers, Larry Capps of Williamstown and Roy Capps of Princeton, Texas; and sisters, Carol Ware of Atlanta and Betty J. Martin of Walton.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitatio n will begin there at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Grant County. Raymond Michael Cracraft, 42, of Germantown, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday at his home.
Survivors include his stepfather, Thomas A. Hall of Germantown; and sisters, Carole Little and Linda Pope, both of Georgetown, and Susan Doyle of Germantown.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home, Germantown. Visitation will begi n there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Germantown. Memorials are suggested to Highland Christian Church School, 4037 Ky. Highway 10, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
David Denney, 48, of Newport, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was an army veteran and a hotel bartender in Tampa, Fla.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Denney of Cincinnati; brothers, James Denney of Cincinnati, Roy Denney of Deer Park, Ohio, and J.B. Denney of Newport; and three grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Cooper Funeral Home in Grants Lick. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is in The National cemetery in Dayton.
Edna Phipps Elam, 89, of Verona, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a homemaker and a member of Verona First Full Gospel Church of God. Her husband, Robe rt Mearl Elam, died in 1979.
Survivors include sons, David Elam of Louisville and Bobby K. Elam and Donald Elam, both of Verona; daughters, Wilma Darlene Higgins of Warsaw, Norma Jean Rollins and Viola Morris, both of Verona; sisters, Virgie Crase of Lexington and Charlene McConathy of Nicholasville; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
Emil Raymond Huck, 83, of Newport, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired laborer with Thompson Publishing, Cincinnati, and a member of Lawler-Hanlon VFW Post No. 5662, Newport. His wife, Elsie Huck, died in 1980.
Survivors include a sister, Lorraine Dunbar of Cold Spring, and a brother, James Huck of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Geneva Middendorf Huesing, 78, of Highland Heights, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired seamstress with Hyde Park Clothes, Newport, and a volunteer with St. Luke Hospital. She was a member of St. John Auxiliary at Mother of God Church in Covington, and the St. Mary Society of St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Her husband, John Huesing, died in 1977.
Survivors include sisters, Betty Scherder of Latonia, Marian Leisz of Alexandria, Ruth Huff o f Covington and Patricia Brossart of Highland Heights.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, with prayers following. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Geneva Merrill, 84, of Falmouth, died Wednesday at her home after an extended illness. Sh e was a retired employee of the Falmouth Sewing, Heptner Sewing and Crown Sewing factories, and Dr . Scholl's, all of Falmouth, and was a member of Blanket Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton County. Her husband, Arthur Merrill, died in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Williams of Falmouth; a son, John Merrill of Falmouth; sisters, Ethel Green of Middletown, Ohio, Lena Wells and Jean Lach, both of Falmouth, Edna Chain of Florence and Mary Yelton of Erlanger; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Marion E. Reed, 44, of Fort Mitchell, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a bricklayer with Spille Construction Co., Covington.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Reed of Fort Wright; a stepson, Aaron Jones of Fort Mitchell; a daughter, Roberta Brandenburg of Covington; his mother, Artie Reed of Crescent Springs; sisters, Wanda Sucher of Crescent Springs, Linda Roehe of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Deborah Rich of Covington; brothers, James Reed Jr. of Cummings, Ga., and Wayne Reed of Verona; and five grandchildren.

Walter G. Ripperger, 81, of Spring Branch, Texas, formerly of Independence, died Tuesday at North Central Baptist Hospital, San Antonio. He was a retired electrician and millwright with Kenner Toys, Cincinnati, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Della Hale Ripperger; daughters, Yvonne Langdon of San Antonio and Sharon Grigson of Florence; a brother, Richard Ripperger of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Robert Thomas, 53, of Ludlow, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

Marcella E. Bergfeld Warther, 89, of Park Hills, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at Village Care Center, Erlanger. She was a homemaker and a member of Leisure Timers Club, Fort Wright, and St. John Church, Covington. Her husband, Gerhard William Warther, died in 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn C. Wolking of Park Hills; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

LeAnn White, 44, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Miracle Temple Church, Covington.
Survivors include her husband, Leon White Jr.; daughters, Naushiya Harris and LaTeika Harris, both of Covington; and a brother, Michael Harris of Cincinnati.

Annarita "Judy" Yurak, 58, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Yurak of Florence; a daughter, Trisha J. Yurak of Glasboro, N.J.; her mother, Rita Hibbard of Brook Park, Ohio; and sisters, Jackie Nook of Cleveland and Patsy Fisher of Millersburg, Ohio.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at Southwest Ohi o Crematory, Cincinnati. Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington, is handling arrangements.
