'Bounce' Moore, freight agent
Lloyd E. "Bounce" Moore, 66, of Union, who worked 40 years as a Delta Airlines freight agent, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood of heart problems and cancer.
Mr. Moore enjoyed farming and playing the guitar.
"Most people only knew him by his nickname of 'Bounce' and didn't even know his regular name, " said Mr. Moore's wife of 48 years, Barbara Moore. "He got the nickname when he was a baby and used to bounce up and down on his bed all the time. The nickname stuck all through his life."
Mrs. Moore said her husband had perfect attendance at work for many years and liked to spend much of his free time farming.
"He raised some cattle, chickens, ducks and sheep and liked being out on the farm, " she said. "He liked guitar music and enjoyed playing country songs at home and for friends."
Other survivors include sons, Dennis Moore of Latonia and Darryl Moore of Union; daughters, Diane Owens of Independence, Darlene Bandenberg of Nashville, Tenn., Donna Epperson of Erlanger, Debbie Sallee of Burlington and Dawn Moore of Union; a sister, Gloria Smith of Hebron; nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.
Rachael J. Belding, 87, of Union, died Wednesday at New Horizon Medical Center, Owen ton.
She was a retired surgical appliance fitter. Her husband, David K. Belding, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Bihl of Union; a sister, Nora Florence Brown of Rising Sun, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A wake will be Saturday at Donna Donna's Lounge, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati. McDonald Funeral Home, Owenton, is handling arrangements.
Katherine Woolums Courtney, 78, of Crittenden, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Willard Courtney, died in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Schadler of Dry Ridge; sons, James Courtney of Titusville, Fla., Bruce Courtney of Carrollton, Texas, Donald Courtney and Rickey Courtney, both of Crittenden; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.

Fred C. Hafer, 91, of Demossville, died Tuesday at his daughter's home in La Jolla, Calif.
His wife, Anna Morelle Stubblefield, died in 1933. A son, William Louis, died in 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Ann Hafer Fleming of La Jolla; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery.
Marsha Hartman, 42, of Walton, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence.
Mary Hudson, 81, of Covington, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a retired housekeeper with St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. A son, Arthur Hudson, died in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Steven Hudson of Frankfort.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Catchen Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Louise Banta Kidd, 84, of Carrollton, died Thursday at Green Valley Health Care in Carrollton.
She is a member of First Baptist Church, and a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Ralph Edward Kidd, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, James Banta of Carollton; a sister, Rebecca McGuire of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will at 2 p.m. Saturday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
John T. "Jack" McKiernan, 84, of Covington, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday at Woodcrest Manor Care Center, Florence.
He was a retired vice president of sales for Senco Products Inc., Cincinnati, and a former sales manager with Coca Cola Co., Cincinnati. His wife, Caroline Riblett McKiernan, died in 1992.
Survivors include sons, Jack McKiernan and Bill McKiernan, both of Chicago; a brother, Tom McKiernan of Cincinnati; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum, Fort Thomas.
Doris Ruth Neil, 65, of Milford, Ohio, formerly of Grant County, died Wednesday at Hospice of Cincinnati.
She was a property manager with Chetalou Properties, Cincinnati, and a former secretary for Kentucky State Police Post 6, Dry Ridge. She was a member of United Way and Crime Watch.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Lockwood of Milford; a son, John Cruey of Holbrook; her mother, Mary Stamper of West Chester, Ohio; and three grandsons.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Crittenden Cemetery.

Dalton Jesse Smith, 71, of Brooksville, died Wednesday at his home.
He was a drill press operator, a member of Wellsburg Christian Church and an Army veteran. A son, Terry Smith, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Mae Woods Smith; daughters, Bonnie Woods of Germantown, Libby Litzinger of Minerva, Dottie Woods of Alexandria, Darlene Staggs of Mount Olivet, Diane Smith of Cincinnati and Roseanne Smith of Newport; sons, Richard Smith of Brooksville, Malcolm Smith of Cincinnati and Danny Smith of Newport; a sister, Nina Eschmann of Newtonsville, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Brooksville.
Marie Cummins Williams, 80, of Cynthiana, died Wednesday at Edgemont Manor Nursing and Convalescent Home in Cynthiana.
She was a retired nurse's aide with Martin's Rest Home, Harrison County. Her husband, Tolbert Lee Williams Sr., and a daughter, Frances Katherine Custard, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Tolbert Lee Williams Jr. and Larry Thomas, both of Harrison County; daughters, Gloria Gross of Cynthiana and Freda Custard of Harrison County; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Joseph "Joey" Wood, 21, of Dry Ridge, died Thursday in Crittenden.
He was a dispatcher for the Grant County Sheriff.
Survivors include his father, Russell Wood, Sr. of King George, Va.; his mother, Debbie Sherrod of Dry Ridge; sister, Terri Sproles of Burlington; brother, Russell Wood Jr. of Dry Ridge; stepfather, Danny Sherrod of Dry Ridge; maternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Shannon of Dry Ridge; paternal grandfather, Gilbert Wood of Colonial Beach, Va.; step grandparents, Warner and Rita Baxter of Charlotte, N.C., and Charles and Anna Sherrod of Blanchester, Ohio.
