Geraldine Kamp, worked for family flooring firm
Geraldine M. Wingler Kamp, 78, of Fort Thomas, who helped operate family-owned Kamp's Flooring in Newport, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
Mrs. Kamp worked at the store the day before she died and had not complained of being ill.
Family members said they did not know the cause of death.
"It was just all of a sudden and everybody was surprised, " said Mrs. Kamp's husband of 52 years, Arthur J. Kamp.
The Kamps worked in the floor covering business for 50 years.
"We enjoyed working together, " said Kamp.
"We couldn't have been at it that long if we didn't enjoy each other's company."
Mrs. Kamp "did everything at the store, from selling to keeping the books, " he said. "She devoted a lot of her time to the business. She was a hard working, good ol' girl.
"She was very friendly, outgoing and just a nice person. A delight."
Mrs. Kamp was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Fort Thomas.
Other survivors include two sons, Anthony Kamp of Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and James Kamp of Edgewood, and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas.
Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum in Fort Thomas.
Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses.
Raymond K. Brown, 79, of Cold Spring, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired salesman with Benjamin Hey Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Church of God International in Fort Thomas and Silver Grove Masonic Lodge No. 916.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services were at 12:30 p.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Sandra Lee Davis, 52, of Hebron, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil O. Davis; stepsons, Larry Davis of Independence, Michael Davis of Cincinnati, Douglas Davis of Winchester and Gregory Davis of Columbus, Ohio; stepdaughters, Donna Behymer of Lebanon, Ohio, and Linda Traud of Greenville, S.C.; brothers, Harold Powers of Hemet, Calif., James Powers of Ludlow, Bill Powers of Florence and Walter Powers of Independence; sisters, Alma Robinson of Taylor Mill, Joyce Henson and Ruth Bruen, both of Hebron, and Edith Deatherage of Erlanger; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
David Roy England, 38, of Independence, died Tuesday in Cincinnati. He was a computer programmer with Western Southern Life Insurance Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Independence Historical Society. He attended St. Cecilia Church, Independence.
Survivors include his mother, Joan M. England of Independence; a sister, Mary Catherine Egbring of Florence; and a brother, Daniel Wayne England of Rock Island, Ill.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.
Betty S. Green Fleming, 67, of Ludlow, died at 1:42 p.m. Tuesday at Norton Suburban Hospital, Louisville. She was a retired switchboard operator with Cincinnati Bell.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Peskin of Alexandria, Mary Barrett of Oxford, Ala., Bertha Taylor of Chilicothe, Ohio, and Carol Wine of Cincinnati; sons, Mark Lewis of Muskegon, Mich., and Jeff Zimpelman of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 tonight at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Ms. Fleming bequeathed her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
Martin T. Franks Sr., 71, of Elsmere, died Sunday at Drake Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was an employee of Kaiser Environmental Systems and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Stepsons, Jann Victor Genson and Edgar "Skip" Genson, died in 1971 and 1977, respectively.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Franks; a stepdaughter, Gail Genson of Elsmere; a son, Martin Franks Jr. of Burlington; stepsons, Dan Genson of Atlanta and Bill Genson of Chamblee, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Mary Eileen Henderson, 75, of Fort Mitchell, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Her husband, John Joseph Henderson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, John Henderson Jr. of Erlanger and Jim Henderson of Florence; daughters, Juliann McMillan of Dana, Joy Henderson and Jenny Henderson, both of Fort Mitchell; a sister, Joann Abbatello of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.

Thelma Hensley, 100, of Newport, died Wednesday at Maple Knoll Village, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a health care provider.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Jackson of Newport; and a son, Robert Slaughter of Mason, Ohio.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Elizabeth L. Houston, 78, of Latonia, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Robert L. Houston, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Bobbie Bohl and Sue Dowler, both of Cincinnati, Dixie Brownfield and Judy Houston, both of Latonia, and Nancy Springer of East Enterprise, Ind.; sons, Tom Houston of Houston, Jack Houston and Jimmy Houston, both of Taylor Mill; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Karl L. Keiser, 76, of Crestview Hills, died at 11:53 p.m. Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a locomotive engineer with Newport Steel and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Onita A. Barnett Keiser; a son, Ken Keiser of Florence; daughters, Sharon Kuriger of Miamisburg, Ohio, Anita Coots and Nancy Sexton, both of Covington; a sister, Theresa Slife of Troy, Ohio; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

June Lancaster McGraw, 68, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Falmouth, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso. She was a seamstress, a retired day care operator in Falmouth, a retired teachers aide with Pendleton Middle School and owner of Falmouth Florist.
Survivors include her husband, Carl McGraw; a son, Bobby McGraw of El Paso; a sister, Greta King of Falmouth; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Kidney Foundation of Central Kentucky, 2417-B Regency Road, Lexington, Ky. 40503.
Byron Cecil Pruiett, 74, of Newport, died Wednesday at Lakeside Health Care Center, Highland Heights. He was a retired employee of Seagram's.
Survivors include his wife, Ida M. Pruiett; sons, John Pruiett of Prarie Grove, Ark., Paul Pruiett of Newport, Gary Pruiett of West Chester, Ohio, and Byron Pruiett of Ellijay, Ga.; daughters, Judy Jones of Osgood, Ind., Pam Turner of Wilder and Shirley Spicer of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bettie Lee Roden, 81, of Taylor Mill, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a city clerk with the City of Covington and a former employee of Kaiser Steel Co. during World War II.
Survivors include son, Bob Roden of Taylor Mill.

Jean Sebastian, 66, of Covington, died Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a nursing assistant.
Survivors include daughters, Carmen Crews of Cincinnati, Phyllis Tyler of Elsmere, Tonda Graves, Melanie Sebastian, Natasha Sebastian and Pamela White, all of Covington; sons, Terrence Sebastian of Cincinnati, Kevin Sebastian, Keith Sebastian and Kim Sebastian, all of Covington; and a sister, Rita La Bordeaux.
Services were at noon today at Mother of God Church, Covington. Burial was in Mary Smith Memorial Cemetery, Elsmere. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
