Marcella Grosardt, took care of others
Marcella K. Allgeier Grosardt was a quiet woman who knew how to care for others.
She tended her husband, William J. Grosardt, through a long illness and several strokes.
After he died in 1970, she worked at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Cleves, Ohio, for several years.
She was a native of Cold Spring and married
William Grosardt in 1937.
They lived on a farm on East Alexandria Pike until the 1960s, when they moved to Ohio, retiring in Cleves.
Mrs. Grosardt enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She remained in her house until April, when she had a stroke and moved to Lakeside Health Care Center in Highland Heights.
She died there Friday at age 86.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley L. Baldinger of Alexandria; brothers, Earl Allgeier of Cleves, Ohio, Ed Allgeier of Milan, Ind., and Howard Allgeier of Roswell, Ga.; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at noon Monday at Argo-Bolton and Lunsford Funeral Home, Cleves, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Gerald Botkin, 56, of Fort Wright, died at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a retired data systems analyst for Cincinnati Bell Information Systems.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Harris Botkin of Fort Wright; a son, Greg Botkin of Union; a daughter, Lori Botkin of Fort Wright; his mother, Lucille E. Lovelace Botkin of Latonia; and a brother, Tim Botkin of Covington.
Services will be at noon Monday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Julia A. "Duddie" Gladson, 70, of Southgate, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at her home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lawlor-Hanlon VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 5662, Newport.
Survivors include her husband, Hal Gladson of Southgate; sons, Hal Gladson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and John A. Gladson of Taylor Mill; daughters, Brenda J. Gladson of Southgate and Denise M. Gladson of Alexandria; sisters, Lavern Donlin of Highland Heights, Margaret Zieglar of Frankfort and Marie Welsh, Catherine Bonhaus, and Barbara Johnson, all of Fort Thomas; a brother, Frank Stadtmiller of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Elsa Richards Hamilton, 91, of Lexington and formerly of Cynthiana and Brooksville, died Friday at Pine Meadows Health Care, Lexington.
She was a retired teacher and a member of Faith Baptist Church, Cynthiana.
Her husband, Herman Stanton Hamilton, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Ann Workman Brown of Harrison County; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery.

Benjamin B.B. Jacks, 71, of Fort Mitchell, died Wednesday in Jamestown, Tenn.
He was a motor mechanic with Constance Marine Co.
His wife, Grace Jacks, died in 1972.
Survivors include brothers, Ronnie Jacks of Florence and Sherell Jacks of Ludlow.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Helen R. Lancaster, 86, of Florence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom's Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Florence.
Her husband, George W. Lancaster, died in 1965.
Survivors include daughters, Lona Ward of Florence and Patricia Cowan of Erlanger; sons, Thomas Lancaster of Florence and Paul A. Lancaster of Berry; brothers, Joseph Wren of Taylor Mill, Melvin Wren of Springboro, Ohio, and De Laney Wren of Valrico, Fla.; sisters, Norma Meyers of Forestville, Ohio, and Bessie Fleissner and Mary Reynolds, both of Ludlow; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Jewell Hiles Price, 79, of Falmouth, died Friday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.
She was a member of Oakland Christian Church, Falmouth.
Her husband, Cecil Thomas "Jack" Price, died in 1998.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Mitchell Price of Newark, Ohio, and Leonard Ray Price of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Regina Darlene Price Groninga of Clyde, Texas; sisters, Betty Colvin and Marjorie McNees, both of Falmouth; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Neave Cemetery, Bracken County.

Wilson Carl Rice, 88, of Demossville, died Thursday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. He was retired from Celotex Corporation.
His wife, Dora Begley Rice, died in 1979, and a son, Alvin Charles Rice, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Celia Rice of Butler, Sandi Ashworth of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sharon Kurtz of Burlington, Cindy LeMaster of Falmouth and Vonnie Heringer and Jeannie Hubbard, both of Demossville; sons, Leon Rice of Glendale, Ariz., Donald Rice and Gary Rice, both of Butler, and John Rice and Kenny Rice, both of Demossville; a sister, Demia Rice of Morning View; 40 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery.
Ellen Thompson, 86, of Florence, died at 5 a.m. Thursday at her home.
She was retired from First National Bank, Ludlow.
Her husband, Virgil Thompson, died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Virgil Thompson of Florence; brothers, Elmer Shipley of Georgetown and Oscar Shipley and Joseph Shipley, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; sisters, Mollie Harrison of Florence, Maxine Collin of Muncie, Ind., and Kathryn Spain of Louisville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the cemetery chapel.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
