Sister Mary Noelita, teacher for 62 years
Notre Dame Sister Mary Noelita was an educator for 62 years who loved nothing better in her old age than telling stories to wide-eyed 4- and 5-year-olds at the Julie Learning Center.
"She was a great storyteller for children. That was her main thrust, " said Sister Mary Rose Paula, another Notre Dame nun.
"She was an excellent teacher because of her great love for children."
Sister Mary Noelita died Wednesday at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial House in Park Hills. She was 87.
Sister Mary Noelita, formerly Rose Mary Schneider, was born and reared in Newport.
She took her first vows in 1939.
She was an elementary school teacher, principal, consultant and community service worker with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and the dioceses of Covington and Lexington.
Her teaching career included a 16-year stint at St. Agnes Elementary School in Bond Hill.
For three years, she was a library consultant for the Diocese of Covington. "She was friendly, sweet and pleasant very courteous, " said Sister Mary Rose Paula.
"She was a loving person and always willing to pitch in even when she was sick."
Sister Mary Noelita is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Provincial House Chapel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Provincial House.
Burial will be in the convent cemetery.

Ilene W. Campbell, 75, of Cold Spring, died at 8:06 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Pentecostal Church, Newport. Her husband, Cecil Campbell, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, John Campbell of Newport; daughters, Donna Cole of Cold Spring and Sherry Stockton of Highland Heights; a brother, Delbert Durham of Florence; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Jacque E. Dault, 78, of Covington, died Sunday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. He was a system analyst with Palm Beach Co. and U.S. Shoe Corp., Cincinnati, a member of Mother of God Church in Covington and a secretary for the Knights of Columbus. He was a World War II veteran. His wife, Thelma Mary Dault, preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Richard Allen Dault of Latonia and James Lyle Dault of Elsmere; a daughter, Carolyn M. Fite of Union Township, Ohio; brothers, Paul Marvin Dault of Fort Mitchell and Robert Lyle Dault of Edgewood; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington. William R. "Bud" Fightmaster Sr., 85, of Florence, died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere. He was a service technician with Service Repair Co., Latonia, and a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Garnetta M. Stewart Fightmaster, died in 1995. A daughter, Pamela J. Baker, died in 1992.
Survivors include sons, William R. Fightmaster Jr. of Tigard, Ore., H. Kenneth Fightmaster of West Chester, Ohio, and Gary L. Fightmaster of Florence; daughters, Billie Sue Beiting of Fort Thomas and Patti L. Kessler of Florence; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ella Marie Casey Fuehner, 88, of Fort Mitchell, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Ladies Society, Villa Madonna Benedictine Guild, Fort Mitchell Senior Citizens and Blessed Sacrament Senior Citizens. Her husband, Norbert Fuehner, died in 2000.
Survivors include sons, Theodore W. Fuehner of Edgewood, James G. Fuehner of Independence and Donald N. Fuehner of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; a daughter, Susan Helmer of Florence; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Frank M. Gibson, 69, of Owenton, died Friday at his home. He was a farmer and a member of Beechgrove Baptist Church. His first wife, Missy Stewart, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jones Gibson; a stepson, John Stanley Jr. of Bedford; a stepdaughter, Janice Stanley of Campbellsburg; brothers, Charlie Gibson and Buddy Gibson, both of Owenton; sisters, Florence Ogden and Mavis Jones, both of Owenton; and three grandchildren.

Raymond P. Griffith, 86, of Maysville, died Tuesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. He was a farmer. His first wife, Helen Moran Griffith, died in 1986. A daughter, Janice Rae Griffith, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Douglas Griffith; a stepson, Marshall Carpenter of Vienna, Va.; and brothers, Roy B. Griffith of Winchester, Ohio, and Eugene Griffith of Maysville.

Carole L. Grob, 63, of Florence, died Tuesday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a registered nurse with St. Elizabeth Hospitals.

Grob of Anchorage, Alaska, and Daniel L. Bertha Winkle Harper, 84, of Cincinnati and formerly of Pendleton County, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday at Hospice of Cincinnati.

Rebecca Gulick Heyob, 35, of Ludlow, died Tuesday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was a senior accountant with Parking Company of America, Cincinnati, and a member of First Baptist Church, Ludlow, the Ludlow Elementary PTA and the Ludlow/Bromley Swim Club.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Heyob; sons, Matthew Heyob and James Gulick and Nathan Heyob, all of Ludlow; a daughter, Camille Gulick of Ludlow; brothers, Geoff Neville of Lewisburg, N.C., and Jack Gulick of Concord, N.H.; her parents, Edward and Shirley Neville of Park Hills; and grandparents, Edwin and Mathel Crawford of Fort Wright.

Evelyn Kalb, 74, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.
She was a former Florence mayor, a former Florence city councilwoman, an organizer of the annual Florence Y'all Festival and chairwoman of the Aviation Noise Abatement committee. Her husband, Karl Kalb, died in 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Moore of Florence; a granddaughter and one great-grandchild.

James L. Marsh, 54, of Florence, was found dead Wednesday at his home.

Clara Agnes Mayer, 87, of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. She was a registered nurse supervisor with Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights, Speers, Booth and Veterans Administration hospitals. She was a member of First Christian Church, Fort Thomas. Her husband, Andrew F. Mayer, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, John Mayer of Fort Thomas; a daughter, Patricia Vogel of Highland Heights; brothers, Burnice Huehls, Harold Huehls and Lloyd Huehls, all of Indianapolis; sisters, Ethel Keeling of Sandusky, Ohio, Lillian Van Horn of Fort Thomas and Faye Yaunt of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lillian Brooks Meeker, 102, of Newport, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husbands, Bill Strumpler and Ora Meeker, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include three brothers and two sisters.

Maxine Raleigh, 45, of Newport, died Tuesday at her home. She was a secretary with CJV Reporting Co., Newport.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Raleigh; a son, Robert Jason Raleigh of Newport; brothers, Dewey Henson and Kernie Henson, both of Breathitt County; and sisters, Ruby White and Martha Frances, both of Breathitt County, Gora Watts of Mason, Ohio, and Eliza Frances of Dayton, Ohio.

June M. Creamer Smith, 68, of Alexandria, died at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.

Martha Rose Trent, 69, of Evansville, Ind., died of cancer Tuesday at her home. She was a retired instructor with Shane Manufacturing Co., and was a member of the Owls and VFW Auxiliary in Wadesville, Ind., and Widows of Widowers. Her husband, Harry Trent, died in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie G. Wilson; sons, Curnie Wilson of Glencoe, Russell Wilson of Science Hill and Kenneth Wilson of Florence; a daughter, Barbara Lewis of Dry Ridge; a half-brother, James Brewer of Long Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
