Arthur Arlinghaus, 82, worked for others
Arthur Leo Arlinghaus always gave of himself.
For four years in the 1960s, he worked in Appalachia with Father Ralph Beiting. More recently, he helped rebuild houses in worn-torn Bosnia.
Mr. Arlinghaus, 82, of Fort Mitchell, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington.
"Art was a very, very caring person, " said his wife of 55 years, Rita Arlinghaus. "He was always willing to help people out. He didn't want any recognition."
In 1967, Mr. Arlinghaus started Art's Rental Equipment in Newport, which eventually expanded to nine locations in Greater Cincinnati. All six of his sons work for the family business.
Upon retirement, Mr. Arlinghaus and his brother, Carl, began making annual trips to Bosnia to help rebuild houses. They took winter clothing and supplies to orphaned children there for Christmas.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell, and a World War II veteran of the Army.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Jean Klein of Villa Hills; sons, Kenneth Arlinghaus of Fort Mitchell, Mark Arlinghaus of Edgewood and Ronald Arlinghaus, Terence Arlinghaus, Dale Arlinghaus and David Arlinghaus, all of Villa Hills; a sister, Mae Schroder of Fort Mitchell; brothers, John Arlinghaus of Fort Thomas, Tom Arlinghaus of Belleview, Carl Arlinghaus of Fort Mitchell and Lou Arlinghaus of Covington; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

James William Cathey, 92, of Cincinnati, and formerly of Covington, died at 6 a.m. Thursday at Ivy Woods Health Care Center, Cincinnati.
He was a former sports writer for several newspapers in Mississippi.
Survivors include a great-nephew, Richard Darr of Cincinnati.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Alexandria Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Beaulah Day, 74, of Athens, Ala., died Friday at Athens Limestone Hospital.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Lynn Ashley of Athens; sons, Ralph Day of Winchester, Larry Day of Burlington, Terry Day of Arab, Ala., Paul Wayne Day of Clay City and Danny Ray Day of Crittenden; sister, Lillian Bellamy of Athens; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
Henry C. Drew Jr., 77, of Villa Hills, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a retired owner of a wholesale distributorship in Covington and an Army veteran of Wor ld War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Justice Drew of Villa Hills; sons, Henry C. Drew III of Covington, Dennis P. Drew of Edgewood, Gary S. Drew of Shelbyville and Donal D. Drew of Monfort Heights, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the outdoor chapel in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.

Carmella Siciliano Hartman, 79, of Bellevue, died Wednesday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home.
She was a homemaker, a former retail worker in Cincinnati and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. Her husband, Herbert Hartman, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sisters, Elena Auciello and Lucia Reynolds, both of Cincinnati; and brothers, Albert Siciliano and Angelo Siciliano Jr., both of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Karen M. Helvey, 58, of Verona, died at 1 p.m. Thursday at her home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Verona Full Gospel Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Helvey of Verona; sons, Robin Helvey of Glencoe and Jonathan Helvey of Verona; daughter, Cindy Judd of Verona; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Linda Jett, 54, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington.

Pat W. Love, 76, of Ludlow, died Thursday at Community Multi-Care Center, Fairfield, Ohio .
He was a retired postal clerk for Southern Railway System and a member of Disabled American Veterans. A daughter, Michelle Love, died in 1954.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Love of Fort Mitchell; brother, Harold Chauncey Love of Danville; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A graveside service and burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Somerset Cemetery.
Mary Ann Lohstroh Munz, 76, of Seminole, Fla., formerly of Newport, died Sept. 15 at Loving Hearts Assisted Living, Largo, Fla.
She was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. Her husband, John T. Munz, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her stepson, Ted Wallace of Cold Spring.
A memorial mass will be at St, Joseph Church, Cold Spring, at the convenience of the family. Burial was to be in Memorial Park Chapel, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Charles Piercefield, 69, of Covington, died Thursday at his home.

Earl J. Ryan, 60, of Burlington, died Friday at his home.
He was a machinist for R.A. Jones & Co., Crescent Springs, a member of Ralph Fulton VFW, Elsmere, and First Church of Christ, Burlington.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Rust Ryan of Burlington; daughters, Kimberly Ann Bahr of Morning View and Saundra McCarty and Ramona C. Policano, both of Florence; sons, Timothy Earl Ry an of Elsmere, Anthony Wayne Ryan of Morning View and C. Christopher Haynes of League City, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
