Linda Jett, bar owner, loved to travel
In a neighborhood bar in Covington well-stocked with regulars, Linda Adams Jett was among the most familiar of faces.
The co-owner of Hegge's Cafe, 933 Main St., Ms. Jett, 54, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington.
Ms. Jett was diagnosed with lung cancer about eight weeks ago, said her husband, Tim Jett.
The Jetts bought Hegge's in 1993, he said. A former cashier who rang up sales for others for many years, Ms. Jett found a lot more satisfaction in working the cash register as an owner, her husband said.
"She loved every bit of the bar and got involved with everything, " he said. "It's a hard job, but she loved every minute of it."
True to her name, Mrs. Jett loved to travel and visited Hawaii, Mexico, the Bahamas and Florida, her husband said. She also enjoyed shopping and sight-seeing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Diane Britton and Stacy Baughn, both of Covington; sons, Tom Britton and Frank Britton, both of Erlanger, Chris Jett of Crescent Springs and Sean Jett of Florence; a sister, Connie McConnel of Newport; and 20 grandchildren. A sister, Diane Ewing, of Florence, died last year.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit.
Joseph Boesch, 76, of Alexandria, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at University Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was a retired employee of the Campbell County Water District in Cold Spring and an associate of Alexandria Funeral Home.
He was a member of St. Mary Seniors, Alexandria Kings and Queens, and St. Mary Church in Alexandria.
Survivors include his wife, Melba J. Boesch; a son, Rick Boesch of California; daughters, Karen Kramer of California and Patty Stieby of Cold Spring; a brother, Henry Boesch of California; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Garland Breeden Sr., 72, of Worthville, died Saturday at his home.
He was a retired employee of the Swifty Oil Co. and a member of Worthville Pentecostal Church .
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Breeden; daughters, Pamela Nicely of Meaker, Okla., Rennee Casto of Oklahoma, Denise Sharp of Missouri and Vicky Broughton of Fredricksburg, Ind.; sons, Clarence Breeden of Bedford, Darrell Breeden of Falmouth, Roy Breeden of English, Ind., and Garland Breeden Jr. of Worthville; sisters, Verna King and Mary Della Miller, both of Carrollton; brothers, Elmore Breeden of Lexington, Ind., and Wesley Breeden of Ghent; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Worthville Pentecostal Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at t he church. Burial will be in Squiresville Cemetery, Owen County.
Virginia Elizabeth Christen, 84, of Covington, died Friday at Batavia Nursing Home in Batavia, Ohio.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mother of God Church, Covington.
Survivors include a sister, Albertine Kratzmeier of Alexandria; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Maurice F. Conners, 89, of Cold Spring, died Thursday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.
He was a retired self-employed real estate broker. His wife, Catherine Conners, died in 1993.
Survivors include daughters, Maureen Conners of West Palm Beach, Fla., Linda Goldsmith of Edinboro, Pa., Carol Dekker of Santa Margarita, Calif., Nadine Underwood of Central City and Marilyn Gros of Tustin, Calif.; sons, Jerry Conners of Fort Thomas and Thomas Conners of Vail, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Alma Delores Creekmore, 82, of Ludlow, died at 1:42 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Ludlow. Her husband, Jasper "Jay " Creekmore, died on Sept. 7.
Survivors include daughters, Jerlene Smith of Cincinnati and Dorothy Dee Thomas of Ludlow; a son, Roger J. Creekmore of Walton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Esther Fisk, 94, formerly of Independence, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia.

Eva Schuler Goeke, 93, of Edgewood, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday at her daughter's home i n Edgewood.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. She was a past president of the Golden Age Senior Citizens and a member of Fort Wright Civic Club and Southern Hills Rescue Squad. Her husband, John E. Goeke, died in 1980.
Survivors include sons, Father John Goeke of California and Dr. Thomas F. Goeke of Edgewood; daughters, Mary Ann Behrle of Cincinnati and Virginia Strunk of Edgewood; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Church. Visitation will b e from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A reception in the church's Milligan Hall will follow services. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Charles F. Piercefield, 69, of Covington, died Thursday at his home.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of AMVETS.
Survivors include brothers, Emmanuel E. Piercefield and Harold Mullins, both of Independence.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery.

John D. "Jack" Youger, 94, of Florence, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at Florence Park Ca re Center.
He was an electronic technician with Cincinnati Bell, a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell and a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Mary Louise Klefken Youger, died in 1996.
Survivors include sons, Thomas Youger of Cincinnati and John D. Youger of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Ethel Cable of Carmichaels, Pa.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
