Mildred Biddle, 95, never strayed far from roots
Northern Kentucky has changed a lot over the last century, and Mildred Biddle saw it all.
"She was born in the horse and buggy days, and she saw so much over her years. She could tell some stories, " said her daughter, Laura Wagner of Burlington.
Mrs. Biddle, 95, died Monday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a former file clerk with R. L. Polk Co., and a member of Burlington Baptist Church and Burlington Senior Citizens.
Born on a Boone County farm in 1905, Mrs. Biddle never strayed very far from her Burlington roots - she even delivered all 13 of her children in her own home.
Mrs. Biddle continued to crochet and quilt even after she lost her eyesight to diabetes several years ago, Mrs. Wagner said. "She could keep doing the same stitch over and over and she could enjoy doing that."
She also loved flowers and continued to "toddle around the yard" even over the last 10 years, when she could only get around with the help of a walker.
Her husband, Frank T. Biddle, died in 1973. A son, Joseph A. Biddle, died in 1981.
Other survivors include daughters, Betty Jones of Walton, Mary Lou Jackson of Stockton, Calif ., Helen Smoot and Evelyn Beach, both of Burlington; sons, Paul E. Biddle, Russell "Buster" Biddle, Galen C. Biddle, Carl E. Biddle and Ernie Biddle, all of Burlington, Robert F. Biddle of Florence, and Kenny Biddle of Warsaw; 34 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Belleview Cemetery.

Eldon Beucler, 59, of Highland Heights, died at 9:04 p.m. Thursday at Lakeside Health Car e Center, Highland Heights. He was disabled.
There are no immediate survivors.
Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Health Care Center Chapel, Highland Heights.

Jeff Bishop, 44, of Owenton, died Monday at University Medical Center, Lexington.
He was disabled and a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church, Owenton.
Survivors include a daughter, Jodi Bishop of Owenton; and a brother, Howard Bishop Jr. of Owenton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton.

Stanley Lee Cannon, 85, of Foster, died Sunday at Augusta Health Care Center.
He was a machinist with cemetery Chapel Christian Church. His wife, Carrie Mabel Cooper Canno n, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Paul Leroy Cannon of Foster; a daughter, Joy Ann Cannon of Cincinnati; sisters, Ruth Arrasmith and Bernice Recher, both of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, Paul Cannon of Foster.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Johnsville Cemetery.

Donald Lee Colston, 61, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday in Williamstown.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Berry of Waynesboro, Pa.; a stepson, Rick Chowning of Williamstown; brothers, Arva J. Colston Jr. of Davenport, Fla., and Edmond Gene Colston of McLou d, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Corinth Cemetery.

Robert Elliott, 68, of Cold Spring, died Sunday at at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired driver for Coca-Cola, Cincinnati, a member of Campbell County Firefighters Educational Association and a volunteer for the Dayton Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Mayes Elliott of Cold Spring; sons, John Mayes of West Chester, Ohio, Kenneth Elliott of Bellevue and Jeff Riley of Grants Lick; daughters, Sandy Foulk s of Cold Spring and Kathy DeBruler of Grants Lick; brother, Ralph Elliott of Mississippi; sisters, Linda Amann and Diana Clark, both of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick.
Esther I. Swing Fisk, 94, of Independence, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia.
She was a retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service, Covington. Her husband, Edward Fisk, died in 1986.
Survivors include daughters, Hazel Lee Draud-Smelka of Fort Thomas and Ruth Gene Stevens of Latonia; seven grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Verna Kay Coots Melvin, 61, of Carrollton, died Saturday at University Hospital, Louisville.
She was a former election commission worker for the Republican Party and a member of Carrollton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Christi Robbins of Milton; a son, David Reenan of Carrollton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Donnie Bruce Moore, 67, of Glencoe, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence, after an extended illness.
He was a former Gallatin County jailer and a member of the Good Guys Club, Warsaw.
Survivors include his wife, Vesta Clemmons Moore; sons, Jeffrey Moore of Warsaw and Darrell Moore of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Karen Mullins of Warsaw; a sister, Mary Hillard of Mount Vernon; brothers, Bill Moore and Robert Moore, both of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jean E. Bauer Morgan, 75, of Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Sunday at Lebanon Country Manor.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Grant Morgan Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Gregg Morgan of Centerville, Ohio, Kevin Morgan of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, and Tom Morgan of Lebanon, Ohio; sisters, Dorothy Cowan of Mason, Ohio, and Jane Richter of Wilder; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Erlanger. Her husband, Frank W. "Bill" Moss, died in 1980.
Survivors include sons, James W. Moss of Erlanger and Thomas L. Moss of Covington; a daughter, Holly L. Moss of Erlanger; a brother, Gayle Duncan of Walton; a sister, Sandra Bickers of Astors, Fla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Judith Fern Owens, 71, of Falmouth, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Bernard "Bo" Owens, and daughter, Marita Fern Owens-Booth, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Claudia Fryman of Cynthiana and Beverly Askin of Falmouth; sons, Danny "Buck" Owens and Bernard "Snip" Owens, both of Falmouth, and Duran "Paul" Owens of Williamstown; sisters, Christine Owens and Lena Bishop, both of Falmouth, Nancy Seedle of Columbus, Ohio, and Brenda Tackett of Berea; brothers, Jimmy Bishop of Falmouth and Billy Bishop of West Liberty, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
