Thomas Kitch, 'friend' to everyone
Thomas E. Kitch was a fullback on the Holmes High School Bulldogs football team when it won regional and state championships in the early and mid-1940s.
Mr. Kitch, 72, of Florence, mug, r Thomas Kitch el, 4died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He had cancer.
He was a retired sprinkler-fitter for 50 years for Local Union No. 669, which serves Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
"Everybody that ever met him liked him, " said his son, Jerry Kitch, of Florence. "Nobody ever had a cross word, nobody ever disliked him, and anybody he ever met became his friend."
After graduating from Holmes, Mr. Kitch served in the Navy in Seoul, South Korea, from 1946 to 1948. Returning to the states, he married
his high school sweetheart, Gloria Robinette, in 1948.
He was a member of the Sixth Ward Social Club in Covington.
Mr. Kitch also was an avid fisherman and bowler, his son said. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 52 years and his son, survivors include a brother, Jerome Kitch of Crittenden, and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Judy Borchers, 58, of Walton, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday at her home. She was a customer service representative with Staples Direct and a member of Rosebud Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 39.
Survivors include a daughter, Nichole Borchers of Covington; her father, Keith Rodgers of Taylor Mill; a brother, Jack Rodgers of Nichollsville; and a sister, Linda Melhorn of Cincinnati.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Catchen Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation begins there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Harold E. Beach, 83, of Bellevue, died Monday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home.
He was owner of Plastic Printing and a veteran of the Merchant Marine. He was a member of Newport Elks and the Dayton Yacht Club and won metals in swimming and diving in the Senior Olympics. His first wife, Jean Beach, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Beach; a son, David Cox of Bellevue; stepdaughters, Delores Budastour of Kuwait and Kathy Greed of Cincinnati; a stepson, Dennis Cox of Berlin, N.H.; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with an Elks service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Robert P. Drifmeyer, 63, of Warsaw, died Monday at his home. He was a disabled grocery store clerk.
Survivors include sons, Jeffry Drifmeyer and Lonnie Drifmeyer, both of Erlanger, and Derek Drifmeyer of Warsaw; brothers, Martin "Butch" Drifmeyer and Danny Drifmeyer, both of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ten Mile Baptist Church, Carrollton. Mr. Drifmeyer bequeathed his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Gregory Allen Fields, 34, of Maysville, was found dead Friday at his home.
He was a nursing home worker and a member of the Navy and Army reserve.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma Louise Fields of Maysville; a brother, James Y. Fields Jr. of Aberdeen, Ohio; and a sister, Alicia Fields of Maysville.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brell Funeral Home, Maysville. Burial will be in Washington Baptist Cemetery.
Roger "Bud" Harrison, 83, of Butler, died Tuesday at his home. Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Rev. W. G. Logan, 73, of Warsaw, died Tuesday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton.
He was a minister at First Apostolic Church, Warsaw, and a member of United Pentecostal Church in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Breeden Logan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Nick "Luke" Lucarelli, 76, of Park Hills, died Monday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was owner of Luke's Sewing Co. and a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright.
Survivors include sons, Nick A. Lucarelli of Edgewood, Peter D. Lucarelli of Independence and Dino M. Lucarelli of Villa Hills; daughters, Rosemary G. Lucarelli of Crescent Springs and Tina M. Scott of Georgetown; sisters, Julie Adams and Jeannie Schultz, both of Pittsburgh; and 11 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Entombment will be in St. Mary Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses.
Sidney Virgil McElfresh, 80, of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at his home.
He was a retired employee of Gray Iron Co. and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include Loraine Porter McElfresh of Cynthiana; sons, Timothy Harris of Dayton, Ohio, and Jeffery McElfresh, Shawn McElfresh and Randy Harris, all of Cynthiana; daughters, Brenda Harris of Rockford, Ill., and Karan Russell and Sandra Proutey, both of Cynthiana; sister, Frannie Mae Jones of Indiana; 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at noon Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, Paris. There will be no visitation.

Rita K. Oliver, 75, of Elsmere, died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Her husband, Jay C. Oliver, died in 1987.
Survivors include her son, Jay T. Oliver of Roseville, Calif.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:55 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Mary C. Price, 93, of Florence, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

Ralph Simpson, 73, of Falmouth, died Tuesday at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Earl Howard Stevenson, 77, of Highland Heights, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired maintenance worker at Northern Kentucky University, a member of First Baptist Church of Cold Spring and American Legion Post No. 203 in Latonia, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his brother, Harold Eugene Stevenson of Dayton.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Mr. Stevenson bequeathed his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Ralph C. Trutschel, 83, of Alexandria, died at 7:07 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired master scheduler with Dixie Ohio Express, Cincinnati, and was an Army veteran of World War II. A daughter, Carolyn Thiel, died in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis G. Trutschel; a daughter, Marilyn E. Kenter of Alexandria; a brother, Carl Trutschel of Highland Heights; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
