Minnie Taylor, Baptist Mission Friends leader
Minnie Bell Taylor, 80, of California, former state director of the Mission Friends program of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, died Sunday.
From 1970 through 1975, Mrs. Taylor traveled across Kentucky and helped Baptist churches start Mission Friends programs that encouraged children to become "missionaries" in their communities by helping their parents and other children.
"She came from a religious family, and she was very dedicated to her church work, " said Mrs. Taylor's husband of 62 years, George Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church in California, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also was a Vacation Bible School teacher for many years.
She was a favorite of children in her community.
"It was not surprising for neighbor children to be at our breakfast table, " recalled her son, George Mosley of Alexandria, minister of music at Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church in Peace Grove.
"Everyone wanted Minnie Taylor to be their mom. Even adults called her 'Mom.' "
Other survivors include a son, William Mosley of Falmouth; daughters Bonnie Welch of Harrington, Del., Phyllis Rooney of Dayton, and Minnie Styer of California, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons Steven Mosley and Duane Mosley and daughter Judy Kennish.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at First Twelve Mile Baptist Church in California.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Viola Bennett, 96, of Florence, died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday at Florence Park Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Shinkle United Methodist Church in Covington. Her husband, Albert Bennett, died in 1986. Sons, Bert A. Bennett and Douglas A. Bennett, died in 1991 and 2001, respectively.
Survivors include six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Neediest Kids of All, P. O. Box 3426, Cincinnati, Ohio 45201-3426.
Gertrude Loos Dullaghan, 97, of Newport, died at 10:06 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Spirit Church in Newport, Lawler-Hanlon VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary in Newport, and Jolly Seniors of Campbell County.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Petroze of Covington; sisters, Jeanette Thorsen of Dayton and Florence Kraft of Highland Heights; a brother, Stanley Loos of Highland Heights; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Harold Dunaway, 46, of Bromley, died Monday at his home. He was a window installer with NuSash Window Co.
Survivors include his mother, Alma Roach Jarman of Ludlow; and brothers, Mitchell Dunaway and Ernie Dunaway, both of Carrollton.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Eleanor F. Kalicki Enstice, 80, of Fort Wright, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday at Florence Park Care Center. She was an educational secretary with Union Township Schools in New Jersey. Her husband, John F. Enstice, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Wayne E. Enstice of Burlington; a brother, Martin Kalicki of Toms River, N.J.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Maxine L. Friedhoff, 81, of Newport, died at 11:47 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Edward Friedhoff, died in 1990. A son, Gary Friedhoff, died in 1999.
Survivors include sons, Larry Friedhoff, Charley Friedhoff, Edward Friedhoff and Joe Friedhoff, all of Newport, and David Friedhoff of Covington; a daughter, Marty Hall of Newport; and nine grandchildren.

David W. Garrigues, 58, of Union, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a salesman with General Color Corp., Minerva, Ohio, and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Orzali Garrigues; daughters, Shannon Hancock of West Chester, Ohio, and Alice Garrigues of Erlanger; sons, Paul D. Garrigues of Grand Junction, Colo., and Joseph D. Garrigues of Union; his parents, Mary Ferner of Toledo and Jack Garrigues of Atco, N.J.; a brother, John Ferner of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Robin Raws of New Jersey; and a grandson.

Jeannette Wilson Golden, 85, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Aug. 23 at Mariner Health Care Center in St. Augustine.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Langston of St. Augustine and Joan Henderson of Deltona, Fla.; sons, Douglas Golden of St. Augustine, John Golden of Palatka, Fla., Grady Golden of Acworth, Ga., and Michael Golden of Covington; a brother, Phillip Wilson of Mapleton, Ga.; a sister, Louise Stewart of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Matthew Jonathan Mardis, 44, of Florence, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a machinist with International Tool and Die Co. and a member of the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Ann L. Pugh Mardis; a stepson, Jimmy Holt III of Latonia; stepdaughter, Beth Holt of Walton and Ashley Holt of Florence; his parents, Jerelene Hardy of Milford, Ohio, and Arthur J. Mardis of Edgewood; brothers, Michael Mardis of Erlanger, David Mardis of Dry Ridge and Jeff Mardis of Mount Orab, Ohio; a sister, Debbie McConnel of Grove City, Ohio; and one grandchild.

Ida Mar Hill Rees, 92, of Covington, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere. She was a retired tailor with Wasson's Department Store in Indianapolis and a member of First Evangelical Methodist Church, Latonia. Her husband, Ward Clifton Rees, died in 1999.
Survivors include a nephew, Lindo Foster of Taylor Mill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at noon today. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Alberta Faye Rice, 69, of Owenton, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, John Warren; sons, James Rice of Owenton and Phillip Rice of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Geraldine Roberts, 87, of Ludlow, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a secretary with Globe Tailoring Co., Cincinnati, and a member of First Baptist Church of Ludlow and Ludlow Senior Citizens. Her husband, Russell Roberts, died in 1991.
Survivors include a brother, Buck Houp of Erlanger; and sisters, Irene Gangloff of Covington.

Alice M. Sowle, 89, of Florence, died Tuesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home in Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Edgewood Homemakers, Immanuel United Methodist Church and Erlanger Lions Auxiliary. She was a Sunday school teacher with the church, a former PTA president with the 11th District School System and was worked with the Covington YMCA. Her husband, John C. Sowle Jr., and a daughter, Mary Emily Sowle, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra Kay Sweeney of West Chester, Ohio, and Deborah Dee Kaulig of Cincinnati; sisters, Audrey McBee of Clearwater, Fla., and Naomi Kobman of Cincinnati; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Carole Weiner, 67, of Wilder, died at 8:41 p.m. Monday at Lakeside Health Care Center, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker.
