Janada Ryan, loved family, music
Janada Gay Troutman Ryan had a wonderful life filled with friends, a loving family and music. Loyal to neighbors long moved away, Mrs. Ryan was also a devoted mother and grandmother. She was active in her church, and when St. Patrick's Day came around, she could be found sitting at the piano playing Irish songs for family and friends.
Mrs. Ryan, 75, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker, and a member of All Saints Church in Walton. She was a member of the church Grandmother's Club and Altar Society, and was a former parish council member.
In her younger days, Mrs. Ryan was very active. She and her husband, Dick, hosted friends for card games at night and she loved to dance. She loved playing the piano, a hobby which she entertained herself with as a child.
She also was involved in the church, serving on committees and volunteering at the annual festival. She took particular joy in working as a teacher's aide with Catholic school children. It was a relationship that paid dividends both ways, said her daughter, Pam Rettig of Erlanger.
"She felt like she learned a lot from the children, " said Mrs. Rettig. "It was something she loved doing. She felt like they were helping kids grow up the right way."
