"Stan' Wesselman, designer, landscaper
Leonard "Stan" Wesselman, 75, of Florence had an artistic flair - whether designing storefront window displays or putting landscaping in his yard.
He worked as a display man with the former Haroldes Department Store for 30 years, but his pride was his yard, his family said.
Mr. Wesselman died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
"Everybody loved him, " said his wife, Betty Wesselman. "He was a good guy with a good sense of humor."
He also had a deep faith.
"He was very strong, " said his daughter, Terri McHugh of Erlanger. "He gave so much inspiration. His faith never faltered. He always said he was in God's hands."
He was a member of St. Paul Church, Florence.
Other survivors include: daughters, Denise Arens of Holiday, Fla. and Diana Marksberry of Elsmere; sons, Brian Wesselman of Covington, James Wesselman of Cincinnati and John Wesselman of Florence; brothers, Paul Wesselman of Edgewood and Robert Wesselman of Villa Hills; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Anne Weathers, avid Democrat, reader, gardener
Anne Elizabeth Darke Weathers had an interest in politics that she nurtured over a lifetime of reading and public service.
Mrs. Weathers, of Lakeside Park and formerly of Elkton in western Kentucky, died Saturday at the Village Care Center in Erlanger.
She was 87.
"She took a lively interest in the public arena, " said her son, William M. Weathers Jr. of Lakeside Park, a former Post reporter and editor. "Politics was a constant family topic, and her father served as a representative in the Tennessee legislature."
A native of Todd County, Mrs. Weathers grew up in Tennessee and Georgia. She worked in a variety of public positions, including treasurer of Todd County, bookkeeper for the city of Elkton, and secretary of Todd County Central High School.
"She was as solid a Roosevelt Democrat as it was possible to be and once walked through a police barrier to hear FDR (in Bowling Green, Ky.), " Mr. Weathers said. "She was one of those wives who, when her husband was overseas, took heart from President Roosevelt's leadership."
Mrs. Weathers was active in her church, Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church in Elkton, for more than 60 years. Several years ago, she took part in a movement to restore Elkton's landmark Milliken Memorial Community House.
She was an avid reader and gardener. Her son said he inherited his mother's love of the written word.
"She was a dear and inspiring woman, " he said.
Other survivors include a sister, Helen Ruth Carneal of Springfield, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two nephews.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary Cathalene Adams, 70, of Worthville, died Sunday at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ, Dry Ridge.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Ray Adams of Sanders; a daughter, Nora E. Downey of Port Royal; sons, Robert Jones Jr. of Pleasureville and Donald Ray Jones of Carrollton; sisters, Sue Gail Braden of LaGrange, Rose Margaret Beach and Alma Joyce Snow, both of Sanders, Virginia Frances McElfresh of Indianapolis and Linda Charlene Hemingway of Madison, Ind.; a brother, Charles Chandler Brown of Pleasureville; half-sisters, Julian Brewer of Defoe and Hazel Woods of Pleasureville; half-brothers, Michael Brown of Eminence and Tony Brown of New Castle; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Port Royal Cemetery.
Lydia Aschenbach Bingham, 89, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Monday at Marjorie P. Lee Nursing Home, Cincinnati.
She was an office worker with the New York Central Railroad and a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas. Her husband, John H. "Jack" Bingham, preceded her in death.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Church United Church of Christ. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

William A. Block, 68, of Erlanger, died Monday at his home.
He was a retired salesman.
Survivors include daughters, Kelli Block and Tye Block, both of Orangeburg, S.C.; and a sister, Gail Terry of West Chester, Ohio.

Roy Brewer, 100, of Bellevue, died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired machinist with American Can Co., Cincinnati. His wife, Frieda M. Sipple Brewer, died in 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Lily Kaeff of Fort Thomas; four stepsons, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at noon. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Ruth June Dixon, 66, of Latonia, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a retired employee of Overhead Door Co., Latonia, and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Her husband, Ralph Dixon, preceded her in death. A daughter, Bobbie Jo Dixon, died in 1967.
Survivors include sons, Tommy Massie of Covington and Larry White of Atlanta; daughters, Meshell Davis of Latonia and Linda Iles of Covington; a brother, Leroy Gregory of Covington; a sister, Dolly Riesenbeck of Elsmere; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rose June Gough, 73, of Covington, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a member of St. Gertrude the Great Church, Sharonville, Ohio. Her husband, Robert Howard Gough, died in 2000.
Survivors include sons, Robert Gough of Florence, Richard Gough of Penfield, N.Y., James Gough of Atlanta, Michael Gough of Warren, Mich., and Gregory Gough of King George, Va.; daughters, Jeannine Anderson of Elsmere, Rose Marie Voegtle of Independence, Patricia Ronnebaum, Victoria Klette and Karen Martin, all of Covington, Judith Drifmeyer of Warsaw and Constance Chapman of Union; sisters, Esther Emerick and Kathleen Otte, both of Covington, and Ruth Reuscher of Fort Mitchell; 39 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Frances Gruelle, 79, of Union, died Monday at her home.
She was a sales clerk with Stuart's department store and a member of Big Bone Baptist Church, Union. Her husband, Gilbert "Sonny" Gruelle, died in 1961. A son, Rodney Gruelle, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Gruelle of Walton; a daughter, Saundra Riddell of Erlanger; and five grandchildren.

William Harris, 68, of Bethel, Ohio, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died at9:20 p.m. Sunday at Vista Care Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was a retired mechanic with Eastside Lincoln-Mercury, Cincinnati, and an Army veteran of the Korean William Harris War.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Perisutti Harris; a son, Greg Harris of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughters, Billie Joanne Harman and Jennifer Harris, both of Bethel; sisters, Mary Lou Sanders and Jewell Pettit, both of Covington, and Lula Heideman of Florence; and four grandchildren.

Alice Ann Peggie Parker, 69, of Glencoe, died Sunday at St. Rita Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
She was a retired hostess with LaRosa's restaurants, a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church, Owen County. Her husband, Michael Parker, died in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Donald Parker of Cincinnati; daughters, Michelle Preston of Cincinnati and Peggy Rampulla of Fryburg, Ohio; brothers, Russell "Poots" Poland of Cincinnati and Don Poland of Florida; a sister, Ester Lundy of Florence; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Christian Church, Williamstown, and a member of Daughters of America. Her husband, Ronald V. Popham, died in 1990. A son, Ronald Dale Popham, died in 1986.
Survivors include daughters, Myrtie Ellen Gordon of Lexington and Mary Alice Raisor of Florence; a son, Argust Nelson Popham of Williamstown; sisters, Edna McClanahan and Edith Doyle, both of Williamstown; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
