Donna Jean Kling, 49, led active life despite obstacles
Donna Jean Kling didn't let Down's Syndrome stop her from leading an active life.
She was a greeter at Mother of God Church for years and recently marked 25 years as an employee at BAWAC, which provides jobs and skills training for disabled adults.
Miss Kling died at 12:38 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. She was 49.
She had heart problems and other medical problems, said her brother, Franklin S. Kling Jr. of Villa Hills.
"But she never complained, " he said. "No matter how she felt, she always had a smile. She enjoyed the small things in life that other people take for granted."
She lived with her parents, first in Covington and then in Fort Mitchell, before recently joining her mother at the Madonna Manor retirement center in Villa Hills.
Miss Kling rode the bus to BAWAC, where she worked on assembly and packaging jobs.
"She took pride in every accomplishment, " her brother said.
She traveled with family members, visiting Disney World and delighting in a snowball fight in Aspen on the Fourth of July.
"She had a real appreciation of everything, " her brother said. "That's something I learned from her."
Other survivors include her mother, Dorothy Nieman Kling of Villa Hills; sisters, Sister Madonna Marie CDP of Kenton Hills and Cynthia Burke of Louisville; and another brother, Walter Kling of Georgetown.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Everett E. Antrobus, 74, of Alexandria, died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired truck driver; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Valley Chapel Church, Melbourne, and Robert Burns Lodge No. 163 F&AM, Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Antrobus of Alexandria; daughter, Tammy Jenkins of Alexandria; stepsons, Larry Kamerer of Melbourne and Kenneth Kamerer of Milford, Ohio; stepdaughters, Kathleen Firth of Edgewood, Karen Long of Cincinnati and Janet Weaver of Silver Grove; brothers, Howard Antrobus of Covington and Emerson Antrobus of Union; sisters, Evaleen Epperson of Union and Wanda Turner of Covington; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Bertha Jane Bailey, 59, of Butler, formerly of Harrison County, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a retired farmer and had worked for Hardee's and McDonald's, both in Cynthiana.
She was a member of Berry Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Roger Newman of Falmouth; brothers, Bobby Adams and Joe Adams, both of Cynthiana; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Frank D. Baker, 86, of Cynthiana, formerly of Sunrise, died Friday at Grand Haven Nursing Home, Cynthiana.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Sunrise Christian Church. His wife, Annie Moore Baker, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Eugene Baker of Cynthiana and Frankie Baker of Carlisle; daughters, Dorothy Neace, Betty Jo Arnold, Geneva Bartlett and Ruby Baker, all of Cynthiana; sister, Belle Baker of Brooksville; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery.
Sherry Ann Morgan, 36, of Norwood, Ohio, formerly of Newport, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, after a sudden illness. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell R. Morgan; a son, Darrell Morgan Jr., at home; daughters, April Morgan and Cheryl Morgan, both at home; her mother, Golden Fultz of Newport; a sister, Stella Baughn of Newport; and brothers, James Fultz of Falmouth, W.B. Fultz of Crescent Springs, Ronnie Fultz of Newport and Daryl Fultz of Bellevue.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Naegele, Kleb & Ihlendorf Funeral Home, Norwood.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Landmark Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati.
Betty G. Ruppel, 73, of Florence, died Thursday at Village Care Center, Erlanger.
She was a bookkeeper/accountant for several area companies.
Survivors include her husband, Fred L. Ruppel of Florence; son, Tracy Lee Ruppel of Florence; sisters, Mary Milton of Erlanger and Joan Walker of Florida; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Malcolm Lee Williams, 76, of Cynthiana, died Friday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.
He was a retired truck driver, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Tighe Cameron Williams of Harrison County; daughters, Tamara Banfield and Tawna Jenkins, both of Cynthiana; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
