Robert C. Cull, 77, builder, developer and avid boater
Robert C. Cull launched his building career by renovating and selling his own home. From that humble beginning he fashioned a career as a builder and developer.
Mr. Cull, 77, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Fla.
Mr. Cull developed condominiums on Seven-mile Beach in Grand Cayman Island, Longboat Key in Florida and on Lake Glenville in North Carolina.
"When he started, he would buy a house, renovate it, sell it and move to another house that he would renovate, " said his daughter-in-law, Traci Cull of Fort Thomas.
Mr. Cull went into partnership and later developed his own company, R.C. Lands.
"He loved his work, and he enjoyed being with friends and family, " Mrs. Cull said. "He traveled a lot and enjoyed being in beautiful places."
Mr. Cull built in locales in which he would like to live, she said. Often, those places were on the water.
"He always had a boat, " Mrs. Cull said. "He liked to open his homes to his friends and would always take them out on a boat."
Several Fort Thomas friends and neighbors bought his condos in Longboat Key as winter homes.
Mr. Cull was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and a member of the Fort Thomas Lions Club, Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge No. 808, and the Homebuilders Association of Northern Kentucky.
His first wife, Joan P. Cull, died in 1989. After her death, Mr. Cull moved to his condo in Longboat Key and maintained a second home at Lake Glenville, N.C.
He married
Sue Ann Cull on New Year's Eve 2000. They were living in Longboat Key when he had a heart attack.
Other survivors include sons, Dennis Cull of Ashland, Michael Cull of Milan, Italy, Steven Cull of Grants Lick and Bradley Cull and Douglas Cull, both of Fort Thomas; daughter, Kimberly Hickman of Delaware, Ohio; stepdaughters, Julie Hassler of Clarksburg, Tenn., and Susie McEachern and Kim Meloncon, both of Bradenton, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.
Edna V. Benedict, 94, of Newport and formerly of Alexandria, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Clifford Benedict, died in 1944. A daughter, Betty J. Rinehard, died in 1995.
Survivors include daughters, Leola M. Powell of Cold Spring, JoAnn Orth of Melbourne and Janice Funaro of Burlington; sons, James Benedict of Augusta and Bobbie Benedict of Melbourne; 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery, California. Marion Bess, 86, of Maysville, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. He was a grocer at Bess' Grocery, Maysville, and a member of First Christian Church, Maysville. His first wife, Helen Taylor King Bess, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Meyers Bess; daughter, Lynda Monahan of Maysville; stepdaughters, Lisa Roark of Northern Kentucky and Karen Stevenson and Joyce Vize, both of Aberdeen, Ohio; stepson, Mike Vize of Aberdeen; brother, Omer "Jack" Bess of Germantown; a grandchild, three step grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Palmer Funeral Home, Germantown. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Germantown.
Dolores Elizabeth Brenner, 78, of Fort Mitchell, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a salesperson for the former Pogue's Department Store.
Survivors include sisters, Stella Geiger of Las Vegas, Nev., Joan Miller of Crescent Springs and Mary Storer of Covington.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Florence Greenhow Brodt, 96, of Florence and formerly of Fort Mitchell, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday at Florence Park Care Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Covington, and the Baker-Hunt Foundation. Her husband, Ernest Brodt, died in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Allen Brodt of Green Township, Ohio; brothers, Ross Greenhow of San Antonio, Texas, and Harry F. Greenhow of Fort Worth, Texas; a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Patricia Ann Egan, 37, of Bellevue, died Thursday at Marriott Brighton Gardens, Edgewood. She was an assembly worker with New Perceptions and was a special education student at Woodfill School, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Jean Egan of Bellevue; brothers, Jerry J. Egan and Robert M. Egan, both of Villa Hills; and sisters, Jeanne Rassell and Barbara A. Schmidt, both of Edgewood.

Thelma I. Ferrara, 90, of Cincinnati and formerly of Newport, died Thursday at Salem Parke Care Center, Cincinnati. She was a sales clerk for Kresge's. Her husband, Albert Ferrara Sr., died in 1988. A daughter, Michellena Ramey, died in 1996. A son, Albert Ferrara, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include 10 grandchildren.

Virginia M. "Ginny" Frohn, 83, of Fort Wright, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday at her home.
She was a retired salesperson for the former Shillito's Department Store and a member of St. John Church, Covington, and Fort Wright Civic Club and Leisure Timers. Her husband, Norbert H. Frohn, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons, Robert A. Frohn of Crestview Hills and Joseph C. Frohn of Edgewood; daughter, Marianne Wall of Fort Wright; sisters, Anna Marie Carl of Fort Wright and Ruth Mayfield of Fort Mitchell; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Anthony G. Gallichio, 56, of Crescent Springs, died Wednesday at his home. He was a communications operator and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Gallichio; sons, Mark Gallichio, Chris Gallichio and Nick Gallichio, all of Southgate; daughter, Tammie Gallichio of Southgate; and a grandchild.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Ivan Jesse Knight, 82, of Dry Ridge, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Grant County. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Dry Ridge.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Knight of Redondo Beach, Calif., Richard Knight of Williamstown and Gary Knight and Michael Knight, both of Dry Ridge; daughter, Brenda Nantz of Dry Ridge; sisters, Leona Dunn of Covington, Geraldine Holt of Hebron, Eleanor Cook of Dry Ridge and Wilma Colson of Corinth; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Lawson, 48, of Florence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a dietician.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Lawson; her parents, Russell and Juanita Biddle of Erlanger; sons, Chris Kirk of Dayton, Ohio, and Jessie Lawson of Florence; daughter, Jennifer Kirk of Erlanger; sisters, Beverly Bays of Sparta and Sherry Biddle of Erlanger; brothers, Michael Biddle of Demossville and Timothy Biddle of Morning View; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Edward Campbell Sampson, 60, of Dayton, died at 4:07 a.m. Friday at his home. He was a printer for Otto Printing and a Little League softball coach for Dayton Little League.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Ann Sampson; sons, David Sampson of Dayton and Scott Sampson of Alexandria; brothers, Elmer Sampson of Chicago, Ill., and Ronald Sampson of Newport; sister, Pauletta Sampson of Newport; and four grandchildren.

Jean Ann Stenger, 59, of Florence, died at 12:08 p.m. Monday in an auto accident in Bangor, Mich.
She was a medical secretary at the Urology Group, Edgewood, and a volunteer at the Aronoff Center, Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, Michael A. Stenger; and daughters, Pamela Jean Stenger of Fort Thomas and Jennifer Ann Donahue of Independence.
Services will be at 1 p.m.Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
