Audrey Cochran, 'always hard-working'
Audrey Cochran grew up in poverty and never received more than an eighth grade education. Yet before she retired, she had managed a successful business, raised a family and inspired the admiration of many around her.
"She was always hard-working. She was the type of woman who could take a rock and grow a boulder, " said her daughter, Donna Bowling. "For someone who had no education, she had a very good intellect....
"And even though she grew up in a very, very poor family, she was always determined to do more than live in poverty."
Audrey Cochran, 81, of Dry Ridge, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

"She was definitely the business person, " said Ms. Bowling. "It was a challenge. She was determined to make it into a thriving business from fledgling business. So he had the talent to build (truck campers) and she had the talent to sell them."
