Rosalyn Rigg Wills, retired tax examiner
Rosalyn Rigg Wills was a patient, kind person who believed in supporting her family and helping the community.
Mrs. Wills, a retired tax examiner with the Internal Revenue Service, was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church in Latonia. She was also a member of the Latonia Lions Club, Holy Cross 50 Plus Club, Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469 and Calvary Baptist Church Young at Heart group in Latonia.
"She was a very giving person, and she was funny. She had a good sense of humor, " said a daughter, Robin Wills of Latonia.
Mrs. Wills, 72, of Latonia, died Wednesday at her home. Her husband, John Robert Wills, died in 1989.
Mrs. Wills grew up in the Mason County-Bracken County area and was very proud of her children, her daughter said. One of Mrs. Wills' sons is Covington Police Capt. Steve Wills.
"She was proud of everybody, " Miss Wills said of her mother.
Another daughter, Reba Wheatley of Burlington, said her mother enjoyed being in church and going on trips.
Besides her son and daughters, Mrs. Wills is also survived by another son, Charles Wills of New Albany, Ind.; another daughter, Glenda Hunzicker of Latonia; sisters, Faye Orth of Portsmouth, Ohio, Sue Thackston of Washington, KY and Avalou Holford of Maysville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mays Lick Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Rosedale Baptist Church, 45th and Glenn Avenue, Covington, Ky. 41015.
Zelma Marie Sowder Black, 81, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, John W. Black, died in 1979.
Survivors include sons, Gene Monell of Florence and Clyde Reynolds of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Burns Institute, 202 Goodman St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
Elvis Charles Dorsey, 44, of Greensburg, Ind., formerly of Covington, died Saturday at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was a gas operator with Cinergy.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Dorsey; his father, Charles William Dorsey of Walton; and sisters, Judy DeCrescenzo, at home, and Donna Jacobs of Newport.
Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Cincinnati.
Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Fifth-Third Bank, in care of Cassidy Charlie Jude Dorsey.
Mae T. Engles, 88, of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at Edgemont Manor Nursing Home in Cynthiana.
She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. A daughter, Carolyn Allen, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Henry of Cynthiana; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Harrison County.
Catherine Ruth Freeman, 38, of Florence, died Tuesday at her home.
She was a former nurse's assistant for the St. John's Nursing Home, Covington and a member of Morning View Methodist Church.
Survivors include husband, Kenneth Freeman of Florence; daughters, Rebecca Rae Freeman and Tiffany Renae Freeman, both of Florence; sister, Jessica Faye Allen of Covington; brothers, Johnny Allen of West Liberty and David Allen of Covington; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Burlington.
Dorothy Hamiln Kelly, 90, of Villa Hills, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a retired office manager with Newberry's Department Store, Cincinnati, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia K. Nadicksbernd of Villa Hills; a sister, Helen Mussman of Crestview Hills; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Carl Moeller, 86, of Fort Wright, died Wednesday at Community Hospital East, Indianapolis. He was a retired production auditor with Andrew Jurgens Co., Cincinnati, and a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. He was a member of the board of directors of Hidden Valley Lake in Lawrenceburg, Ind. A park there is named in his honor. His first wife, Mabel Moeller, died in 1992. His second wife, Phyllis Moeller, died in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Carl Moeller of Indianapolis; daughters, Carol Cole of Tyler, Texas, Judith Honkomp of Loveland, Margaret Kohl of Cincinnati and Barbara Kollath or Anderson, Ind.; sisters, Rose Mathes and Alice Thornton, both of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.
Burial will be in Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Mary Elizabeth Sandhas, 88, of Newport, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Eugene Sandhas, died in 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Petroze of Newport; and a sister, Margaret Lohmeyer of Crestview Hills.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Stephen cemetery Chapel, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
