Brittany Webster, 12, seventh-grade student
Brittany Lynn Webster was a good student who also had a sense of adventure.
The seventh-grader was a member of the academic team at Sharp Middle School in Butler, where she also was in the advanced art class.
She made good grades in school, had numerous friends, a beautiful singing voice and a love of God that helped make her a three-time state Bible drill champion, said her father, John Webster of Williamstown.
She also loved horses and had her own all-terrain vehicle, which she rode regularly on country trails, her father said.
"She was a kid who was going to make it, " said her father, John E. Webster Sr. of Williamstown.
Brittany, 12, who lived with her father, mother and two siblings in Williamstown, died Saturday when the all-terrain vehicle she was riding flipped on top of her. She died at the scene of massive head injuries, said Kentucky State Police at the Dry Ridge Post.
She was riding as a passenger with her cousin on Saturday because her vehicle had broken down, her father said. Seven other friends and family members were riding all terrain vehicles in a wooded area off Hogg Ridge Road in Williamstown
"She was on the back, and they run up on a bush, " said her father. "He (her cousin) jumped, and she couldn't.
"She's had two or three accidents, " said her father. "She even had one that knocked her out. . . . This was just a freak accident. If they hadn't been doubled up, she probably would have been all right."
She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Williamstown.
