Charles Moore, 20 years on Bellevue City Council
Charles T. Moore loved his adopted hometown.
Mr. Moore was born in Toledo, Ohio, but moved to Bellevue in 1927.
Mr. Moore served on Bellevue's City Council from about 1960 to 1980. He believed in providing basic city services and recreation for children, said a son, Donald Moore of Alexandria.
"He never missed a council meeting. He was either present or would watch on television, " Donald Moore said. "He has received several honors from the city of Bellevue."
Charles Moore, 99, of Bellevue, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
Mr. Moore was a founding member of the Campbell County Game and Fish Club, a member of the Old Timers Club and was a former secretary of the Bellevue Eagles. He was a Civil Defense coordinator during World War II and was involved with starting the Youth Canteen in Bellevue.
He was a supervisor with Cincinnati Union Terminal and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue.
He also was a member of Bishop Mulloy Knights of Columbus Council in Cold Spring and Bishop Haget Assembly, Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus in Northern Kentucky.
Mr. Moore believed in speaking his peace but was also kind and gentle, his son said.
"He was very protective of my mother, " Donald Moore said. "And if there was anything any of us wanted, he was always there for us."
Besides his son, Mr. Moore is also survived by his wife, Dorothy Bonham Moore; a daughter, Dorothy McDonald of Cincinnati; another son, Charles W. Moore of Decatur, Ala.; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Virginia M. Bischoff, 82, of Fort Thomas, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a retired commercial teacher with Dayton High School, and a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, C. John Bischoff.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Church United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Ruth Ann Burkart, 88, of Alexandria, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Eugene E. Burnett, of Dry Ridge, died Sunday at Veterans Hospital, Lexington. He was a retired auto body repair technician and a captain with the Pulaski County Rescue Squad. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. His mother, Luticia Burnett, died March 17.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Sears Burnett; sons, Rick Burnett of Nicholasville, Jeff Burnett of Dry Ridge and Stephen Craig Burnett of Somerset; a daughter, Pamela Burnett Schneider of Taylor Mill; brothers, Leland Burnett of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Herbert Burnett of Somerset; sisters, Eva Mae Jenkins of New Albany, Ind., and Josephine Sutton of Science Hill; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Audrey Evelyn Crowder, 78, of Burlington, died Monday at Villa Spring Health Care Center, Erlanger. She was a retired central service technician with hospitals in Los Angeles. Her husband, Jack Crowder, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Joe Crowder of Burlington; a son, Jack Crowder of Yuma, Ariz.; a brother, Esco Ogden of San Diego; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Burlington Cemetery. Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington, is handling arrangements.
Cora Lee Irvin Fannin, 84, of Melvindale, Mich., formerly of Maysville, died Sunday at Tendercare Manor, Southgate, Mich. She was a farm laborer and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Maysville.
Survivors include sons, Roy Elwood Irvin of Spring Hill, Fla., and John Elmer Irvin of Melvindale, Mich.; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sutton of Mount Sterling; sisters, Zona Collins of Lexington and Carrie Durham of Ohio; a brother, Roy Durham of Vanceburg; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brell Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery.
Darryle Wayne Gray, 36, of Edgewood, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at Golden Towers, Covington.
Survivors include his mother, Pat Wright of Florence; a sister, Kim Wright of Erlanger; and brothers, Donald Reilly of Edgewood and Carlos Helton of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Catchen Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Loyall.
Brack Herald Sr., 59, of Wilder, died at 7:48 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired teacher with Covington Independent Schools and a trustee with Highland Avenue Baptist Tabernacle, Fort Thomas. He was a member of the Wilder Zoning and Planning Board, Kentucky and National education associations, the Retired Teachers Association, and Robert Burns Lodge No. 163, Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Stamper Herald; a daughter, Theresa Lynn Herald of Taylor Mill; a son, Brack Herald Jr. of Cold Spring; a grandson.

Mary E. Jaco, 94, of Covington, died Friday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. She was a waitress and a member of Florence Baptist Temple. Her husbands, James Hodges and Hubert Jaco, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd C. Hodges of Cincinnati; and a grandson.

Frances Steffen Keller, 93, of Cold Spring, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. She was a retired proprietor of the Beacon Inn, Wilder, and a member of the St. Mary Altar Society at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Her husband, Aloysius J. Keller, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Neltner of Melbourne; sons, Al Keller Jr. of Cold Spring and Jack Keller of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Amelia Jenner of Highland Heights; four stepchildren, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Elaine Knight, 80, of Covington, died Sunday at her home. She was a retired receptionist and attended Miami Heights Baptist Church, Cincinnati. Her husband, George Knight, died in 1954. Sons, David E. Knight and Jon F. Knight, died in 2000 and 1990, respectively.
Survivors include a son, James A. Knight of Park Hills; four grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Harry Joseph Konen, 86, of Houston, formerly of Newport, died Saturday in Houston. He was an animal nutrition consultant, chairman of the American Feed Industry Council and a president of the American Society of Agricultural Consultants. He was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a lector with St. Vincent DePaul Church, Houston. His wife, Sara Konen, and a son, Jeffrey Alan Konen, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Harry Paul Konen of Huntsville, Texas, James Thomas Konen and Michael Joseph Konen, both of Houston, Glenn William Konen of Fort Colins, Colo., and Robert Christopher Konen of Trinity, Texas; a sister, Rosemary Trauth of Highland Heights; a brother, Robert Konen of Altus, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane "Janie" Maltaner Martin, 41, of Taylor Mill, died at 7:47 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a server with Cracker Barrel Restaurant, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Martin; stepsons, Brandon Martin of Taylor Mill and Shawn Martin of Florence; her stepfather, Charles Dobbs of Daytona Beach, Fla.; sisters, Monica Hollis of Florence, Donna Maltaner of Highland Heights and Nancy Longhauser of Daytona Beach; and brothers, Mark Maltaner of Newport, Greg Maltaner of Highland Heights and Pat Maltaner of Latonia.

Mary Louise "Lou" Summey, 75, of Cincinnati, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died March 13 at Bethesda Montgomery Care Center in Cincinnati. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Shoe Corp., Cincinnati.

Lucille F. Ward, 92, of Bellevue, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Daughters of America Covington Chapter and First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Her husband, Charlie Ward, and a son, Charles E. Ward, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Charlene Dixius of Cincinnati and Peggy Parker of Louisville; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
