Minister 'Butch' Gillespie had 'big heart'
Robert Houston "Butch" Gillespie Sr. of Covington was always helping someone. If he saw a person stranded on the side of the road, he would get out and try to help them.
"Once he brought a man into our home, fed him, fixed his hair and let him spend the night, " said his wife, Charlene Gillespie. "I asked him, 'Who is that'? He said, 'I don't know, but he didn't have a place to stay.' That's how he was. Butch had a big heart."
