Phyllis Ann Trentman, artist
Phyllis Ann Trentman wanted to share all the gifts and good things that came her way. That included her time, boundless energy and artistic talents.
"She did a lot of painting on wood and floral arrangements, and she was very good at tole painting, " said her husband, Joe Trentman, of some of the crafts featured in his wife's former Fort Thomas shop, A Touch of Craft.
"She'd learn how to do something herself and then pass it on to her friends and neighbors."
Mrs. Trentman, 60, of Cold Spring, died early Saturday at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood, Ohio.
Mrs. Trentman was, according to her husband, as creative as she was loving and energetic.
Some of that creativity she put to good use at A Touch of Craft and her other craft business, Wild Hare Handmade Crafts.
"At the Touch of Craft most of their things were handmade crafts and they made most of them themselves. It was a beautiful shop, " said Mr. Trentman. "The Wild Hare was something she ran out of the house here and she would consign her things to different shops. She was well known in crafts circles."
Mrs. Trentman had also worked at the former Pogue's Department Store in downtown Cincinnati and Florence for about 10 years. Her husband said she worked in both the bridal and sportswear departments.
Mrs. Trentman was also an avid gardener and loved interior decorating.
