Ann 'Sis' Roetker, florist
Ann "Sis" Roetker loved playing a part in creating happy moments in others' lives.
She and her husband, Edward, owned Roetker's Florist in Latonia.
"Her husband and brother-in-law started the business, and she loved flowers, " said Mrs. Roetker's sister, Sarah Foltz of Independence. "It made sense that she worked with them. They had a lot of good years there."
Mrs. Roetker, 90, of Covington, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell.
Though she and Mr. Roetker sold the business before retiring, it still exists as Leaf and Petal Florist in Latonia.
According to Mrs. Foltz, Mrs. Roetker looked after others. The second of five daughters, she paid special attention to her younger sisters growing up. It was a habit that soon led outside the family. She was happy to help anyone who needed it, her sister said.
Survivors include sisters, Henrietta Roetker of Fort Wright, Betty Ryan of Walton and Sarah Foltz. Her husband, Edward Roetker, died in 1961.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Care Center. Visitation will begin there at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to St. Charles Care Center, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington, Ky. 41011. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.
William Edward Cason, 73, of Erlanger, died at 8:43 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired inspector with Ford Motor Co., Cincinnati, a member of Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda F. Cason; sons, Jim Clayton of Erlanger and Zane Clayton of Florence; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Roanoke Cemetery, Pendleton County. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
James T. "Tom" Caudill, 61, of Avon, Ind., formerly of Taylor Mill, died Wednesday at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
Birdie Conover, 89, of Fort Thomas, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home.
Survivors include sisters, Anita Mascari of Cincinnati, Lois Clore of Louisville, Lotta Cash of Melbourne, Fla., and Hallie Moore of Fort Thomas; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
R. Eric Garvey, 30, of Louisville, formerly of Covington, died Monday in Louisville. He was a minister with Bashford Manor Baptist Church, Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Garvey; a son, Benjamin Richard Garvey; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Garvey; his parents, Ronald Lee and Diana Kay Garvey; a sister, Robin Howard; and grandparents, Kline and Beatrice Garvey and Kathryn "Mimmie" Thomas.
Services were Thursday at Bashford Manor Baptist Church. Burial was in Owenton Cemetery. Dorothy Mangeot Green, 89, of Edgewood, died at 6 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.
She was a homemaker. Her first husband, Henry R. Mangeot, died in 1960. Her second husband, Charles M. Green, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Michael Mangeot of Edgewood; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to the Point, 104 Pike St., Covington, Ky. 41011.
Billy Deane Lipscomb, 66, of Crittenden, died Wednesday at his home. He was a delivery man with Railway Express, and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include a sister, Sheryl Reynolds of Florence.

Judy Elizabeth Lloyd, 79, of Carrollton, died Thursday at King's Daughters Hospital in Madison, Ind. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Turner Lloyd; daughters, Patty Williams, Mary Atkins and Lynn Sablehaus, all of Crittenden; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
Wilma June Spence Mays, of Batavia, Ohio, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Wednesday at Batavia Nursing and Convalescent Home. She was a retired employee of Hyde Park Clothing Store.
Survivors include sons, Charles Mays of Alexandria; a daughter, Velma Jean Bramson of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Harry P. Marksberry, 70, of Williamstown died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington following a long illness.

Louis J. Otten, 88, of Surprise, Ariz., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Nov. 23 in Arizona. He was a retired sales representative with Knobloch Motors of Newport, and Kelly Buick, Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Otten; a daughter, Marlene B. Bader; a sister, Bernadette Koury; a brother, Hubert Otten; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 30 in Arizona. Best Funeral Services, Peoria, Ariz., handled arrangements.
Beulah L. Ramsey, 86, of Dry Ridge died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County in Williamstown. She retired from Lucas Drug Store in Williamstown. She was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include nephews, Harry L. Elliott of Austin, Tex as and Larry G. Jones of Williamstown.

Esther Lee Groh Spencer, 57, of Independence, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert "Ray" Spencer; daughters, Charla Watts of Paducah, Cindy Reckers of Covington, Crystal Sturgill of Demossville, Tanya Spencer of Independence and Brandi Spencer of Taylor Mill; sons, Charles Cain Jr. of Florence and Eric Spencer of Taylor Mill; a sister, Mary Dixon of Erlanger; a brother, Thomas Groh of Weems, Va.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John K. Threlkeld, 74, of Covington, died at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include sons, James Threlkeld of Independence, John Threlkeld of Butler, Mike Threlkeld of Erlanger, David Threlkeld of Owenton and Edward Threlkeld of Indiana; daughters, Janis Snyder of Sparta, Terri Sterling of Burlington and Michele Threlkeld of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Henry Threlkeld of Silver Creek, N.Y.; sisters, Agnes Raper, Thelma Roberts and Janet Wolf, all of Covington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles Mason Wright, 79, of Owenton, died Thursday at Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton. He was a carpenter and farmer, and a member of Richland Baptist Church. He was a Sunday school teacher at the church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Breen Wright; sons, Danny M. Wright of Frankfort and Harvey Dale Wright of Lexington, Tenn.; daughters, Linda Young of Carrollton and Brenda Hymer of Frankfort; brothers, Harold Wright of Georgetown and Gayle Wright of Louisville; sisters, Pearl Devers of Patriot, Ind., Alice Wright of Frankfort, Lillian Carew of Somerset and Geneva Wright of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
