Marsala 'Sally' Brownfield For Marsala "Sally" Brownfield, just about every day was a celebration of life.
Ms. Brownfield, 69, of Fort Thomas, was a retired data transcriber with the Internal Revenue Service in Covington. She also worked at the Drawbridge Estates in Fort Mitchell as a telephone operator.
Her passion in life, though, involved her family, and she enjoyed throwing parties on any occasion, said a daughter, Cheryl L. Wood of Covington.
"She used to throw us birthday parties every year, and it was with balloons, cake and presents. She was so festive and family-oriented, " Ms. Wood said. "I was very proud of my mother."
Ms. Brownfield died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a member of the Fort Mitchell Baptist Church.
Ms. Brownfield, a Northern Kentucky native, enjoyed gardening and attending church. She insisted that her children clean house and attend church before allowing them to leave for social events, Ms. Wood said. Ms. Brownfield also was a hard worker who received several awards from the IRS, Ms. Wood said.
Other survivors include a son, Jack Wood of New York; and another daughter, Linda McFarland, both of Covington; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Jean L. Abdon Arnold, 56, of Alpharetta, Ga., formerly of Fort Mitchell, died at 10:29 p.m. Monday at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, Ga. She was a homemaker and a volunteer with the Children's Miracle Network. Her husband, Charles H. Arnold, died in 1999.
Survivors include sons, Charles H. Arnold of Alpharetta and Shannon A. Arnold of Orlando, Fla.; daughters, Christina L. Burke of Stuart, Fla., and Kimberly J. Moorman of Alpharetta; her mother, Clara Rolf Abdon of Fort Mitchell; a sister, Janice Peeno of Fort Mitchell; and six grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. John L. Collins, 79, of LaFollette, Tenn., died Friday in Fairfield, Ohio. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Thelma Mae Roberts Collins, and daughters, Portia Ludwick and Andrea Cassday, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, John Collins of Florence and Charles Collins of Covington; a daughter, Brenda Davis of Hamilton, Ohio; brothers, Alonzo Collins of Conn, Texas, Charles Collins of Wylie, Texas, and Lawton Collins of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Elk Valley, LaFollette.
William E. Combs II, 30, of Glencoe, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence, after an extended illness.
Survivors include a son, William Edward Combs III of Latonia; a daughter, Billi Jean Combs of Latonia; brothers, Christopher Combs of Cincinnati and James Douglas Combs of Warsaw; and grandfather, William Hutchinson of Warsaw.

McKinley Russ Crawford, 83, of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana. He was a former employee of Blake & Johnson Co., and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He was a pianist with the church youth group and a member of the Methodist Men's Chorus. A son, Robert Russell Crawford, and a daughter, Beverly Carol Crawford, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Spears Crawford; a son, Maxim Crawford of Cynthiana; daughters, Peggy Ann Crawford and Connie Withers, both of Cynthiana; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Opal Crockett Dodge, 87, of Mays Lick, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a member of Mays Lick Presbyterian Church, where she was the church organist and a Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of the Mays Lick Junior Homemakers and the old Mays Lick Improvement League, and was a 4H leader. Her husband, John D. Dodge, died in 1974.
Survivors include a son, John Larry Dodge of Mays Lick; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Louise Sayers Gibson, 85, of Highland Heights, died Tuesday at Highland Crossing, Fort Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of Asbury Methodist Church of Highland Heights.
Survivors include a son, Michael Sayers of Alexandria; a sister, Dorothy Reese of Charleston, W.Va.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gianni Arnez Jackson, 2 months, of Covington, died Sunday at his home.

Clifford Key, 89, of Burlington, died at 6:15 a.m. at Village Care Center, Erlanger.
He was a retired foreman with George Littleford Brothers, Cincinnati. His wife, Drama Bryant Key, died in 1995. A son, John Wesley Key, preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Key of Waco, Irvin Key of Cincinnati, William Key of Columbus, Ohio, and James Key of Burlington; daughters, Mildred J. Kuhnheim of New Trenton, Ind., and Joyce Adams of Moores Hill, Ind., and Marilyn Schuster of Union; 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Judy A. Lynch, 57, of Florence, died Saturday at her home. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Rondal Lynch, died in 1998.

Esther R. Mairose, 73, of Florence, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a head teller with First Federal Bank and a member of St. Paul Church, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbert "Bill" F. Mairose; a daughter, Mary Alice Mairose of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister, Marion Kloentrup of Edgewood.

John Middendorf, 61, of Park Hills, died Tuesday at his home. Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
J. R. Painter, 86, of Carthage, died at 11:19 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired school administrator, a former director of pupil personnel for Campbell County Schools, and a principal and assistant superintendent with the Newport City School District. He was a retired secretary of the Campbell County Home Insurance Co., and a member of its board of directors. He was a member of the Carthage United Methodist Church, and was dedicated to the Carthage Camp Meeting. His wife, Vernice Lee Moore Painter, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Myrna Kay Beck of Alexandria and Janis Sue Curry of Carthage; half-brothers, Paul Painter of Alexandria, Earl Painter of California and Kenneth Painter of Independence; a half-sister, Gertrude Painter Carmack of Alexandria; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Piercy Greenup Parrish, 88, of Owenton, died Monday at Owenton Manor. She was a homemaker and a member of Hesler Assembly of God Church, Owen County. Her husband, Willis Parrish, and an infant daughter, Dewey Ann Parrish, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelia Miller of Owenton; and sisters, Flossie Wainscott and Stella Stewart, both of Owenton, and Vina Ruth of Georgetown.

Katherine H. Workman, 90, of Ripley, Ohio, formerly of Robertson County, died Monday at Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley. She was a homemaker and a member of Powersville Christian Church. Her husband, Cecil G. Workman, died in 1993.
Survivors include daughters, Martha Kay Hause and Glenn Bess, both of Brooksville; and four grandsons.
