Rev. Irene Young, minister at Church of God Trinity Assembly
The Rev. E. Irene Young of Covington was an ordained minister for nearly 40 years.
She served at the Church of God Trinity Assembly in Covington the last 16 years assisting her brother, the Rev. Wendell A. Bell of Latonia, who is pastor.
Before that, Rev. Young worked at churches in Kentucky and Ohio with her husband, the Rev. Hampton Young, who died in 1984.
When the Youngs were a team, he served as pastor and she did secretarial work.
A daughter, Julia Renee Reed of Southgate, couldn't keep from crying as she spoke about her mother, but she's certain her mother is happy.
"She always sang the song, 'My foot's on the Rock, and my mind's made up.'
"From the beginning, their minds were made up to meet in heaven, and they did."
Rev. E. Irene Young, 73, died early Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.
Rev. Young was born in Burnside. Her father and stepmother both were ministers, said her son, George R. Young of Latonia.
Young said his parents first opened a church on Colerain Avenue in Cincinnati in 1963.
A couple of years later they moved the church to Eighth Street in Covington, where they stayed until 1971.
Then, they moved the church back to Ohio, to Camp Washington.
Finally, in 1976, they opened the church at its present site on Garrard Street in Covington.
Other survivors include a daughter, Edna L. Caldwell of Latonia; her stepmother, Julia Bell Gadd of Florence; brothers, Billy "Jr." Bell and Henry A. Bell, both of Hebron, Charles B. Bell of Kentucky; sisters, E. Christina Daulton and Deborah Flets, both of Hebron, and Imolene Snelling of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of God Trinity Assembly in Covington.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home in Covington, and from 10 a.m. until the time services Friday at the church.
Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Ethel Edna Rhodes Bryson, 90, of Independence, died Tuesday at Carmel Manor nursing home, Fort Thomas. She was a retired bookkeeper with Arnamack and a member of Florence Christian Church. Her husband, LeRoy Bryson, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Gordon A. Bryson of Independence; a brother, Harold O. Rhodes of Anderson, N.C.; a sister, Laverne Heuser of Hebron; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Bessie Carter, 97, of Cincinnati, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley Hall Nursing Home, Cincinnati.

Elmer L. Caskey, 75, of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at his home. He was a former president of Trojan Manufacturing Co. in Piqua, Ohio, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church, the Troy, Ohio, Masonic Lodge and Flow Blue International Collector's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Caskey; sons, William Richard Caskey of Topanga, Calif., Stephen Gilliam of Niceville, Fla., Kevin Brian Caskey of Cynthiana, Fred Ferrell and Billy Ferrell, both of Cincinnati, and Brett Ferrell of Brazil; a brother, Herman Elmo Caskey of Cincinnati; a sister, Faye Schreiner of Enon, Ohio; and several grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana.

William Fred Cottengim, 58, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. He was an employee of the Kenton County Boys and Girls Club.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Darleen Cottengim of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Alberta L. Remke Hausman, 95, of Fort Mitchell, died Tuesday at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills. She was a retired corporate secretary with W. F. Hausman Paper Co. in Cincinnati and a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Her husband, William F. Hausman, died in 1965.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Madonna Manor Nursing Home, Villa Hills. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Sharon "Sherry" Rose King, 45, of California, died Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a customer service manager for Wal-Mart.
Survivors include her husband, Kipert King; a son, Andy King of California; a daughter, April King of California; her mother, Ann Haubner of California; brothers, Robert Haubner, William Haubner and Ronald Haubner, all of California; and sisters, Ruth See and Sandra Zschau, both of Alexandria, and Ethel Huck of California.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 tonight at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, California. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria Funeral Home. Mildred "Millie" Kolkmeyer, 75, of Cincinnati, died Monday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Western Hills campus, Cincinnati. She was a secretary with Elder High School in Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, William Kolkmeyer; a son, Bill Kolkmeyer of Cincinnati; daughters, Carol Wright of Villa Hills and Kathy Randolph of Cincinnati; a brother, Lou Albers of Cincinnati; sisters, Shirley Houser, Mary Lou Hisch and Vera Meyer, all of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

George "Butch" F. Kreidler III, 51, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Covington, died Saturday at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla. He was an electrician and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Tyanna Kreidler of Tampa, Fla.; his mother, Allie Kreidler of Florence; brothers, Joseph Kreidler of Independence, Mark Kreidler of Florence, Jeff Kreidler of Erlanger and Brian Kreidler of Fort Wright; a sister, Sherri Kreidler of Independence; and a grandson.

Joann Helen Nordman Krey, 65, of Burlington, died Monday at her home. She was a retired employee of FirStar Bank, a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, and a former member of the Florence Rotary Club. A son, Kevin R. Krey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Cray; sons, Keith R. Krey of Frankfort and Kent R. Krey of Erlanger; daughters, Karen L. Zavitz of Lexington, Kimberly A. Silbar of Jacksonville, Fla., Kelly J. Cronenberg of Washington, D.C., and Kerri R. Mona Lisa Lafferty, 72, of Sparta, died Monday at Vencor Hospital, Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of Sparta Baptist Church.

Jerry Walter "Di Di" McNulty, 63, of Florence, died Monday in Florence. He was a retired director of human resources with Seagram's Distillery, Lawrenceburg, Ind., and a Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Church, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Jane McNulty; a daughter, Melissa Osterbur of Florence; sisters, Jean Shook and Lillian Carroll, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Arthur C. "Bus" Northcutt, 93, of Erlanger, died at 9:37 p.m. Sunday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia.
He was a retired locksmith with Mosler Lock and Safe Co. in Covington and Hamilton, Ohio, a past master of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge No. 345, and a member of Indra Consistory Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason and the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. His wife, Anna A. Wegford, died in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan A. Eldridge of Erlanger; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Nellie K. Peretti, 98, of Highland Heights, died Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. She was a waitress with Wiggins Restaurant, a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church and a former member of Erlanger Baptist Church. Her husband, Joseph A. Peretti, and a daughter, Jane Riegler, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Anne Parman of Barrington, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Frances Peretti Antrobus of Lugoff, S.C.; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

William Elmer Richards, 74, of Florence, died at 7 a.m. Monday at his home.
He was a retired floor covering installer and salesman with Independent Linoleum and Carpet Co. in Florence and Pferrman Floor Covering Co., Cold Spring, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, a former church trustee and a member of Verona Masonic Lodge. His first wife, Marcella Satchwill Richards, died in 1970. His second wife, Viola Hopperton Richards, died in 1992. A daughter, Dr. Kawanna Simpson, died in 1995.
Survivors include sons, Tony Richards of Verona, Bem A. Richards of Walton and Douglas E. Richards of Florence; a stepson, Robert E. Smith Sr. of Warsaw; a daughter, Ramona McConnell of Denver; a stepdaughter, Janice Wren of Warsaw; a brother, Charles C. Winnie E. Schroder, 89, of Fort Mitchell, died Thursday at her home. A daughter, Mary Lee Schroder Moeves, died in 1996.
