William Harding, tool maker
William C. Harding, a retired tool maker with General Motors, died Thursday at Florence Park Care Center. He was 85.
Mr. Harding was born in Oakdale, Tenn., and later moved with his family to Ludlow. When he was 7, the family moved again to Park Hills, where he lived the rest of his life.
Mr. Harding loved Park Hills, said Marcella Summers Harding, his wife of 60 years.
"He loved . . . the people, the history, " she said. "His house was one of the first built out there."
For the past few years, Mr. Harding had lived at the Florence Park Care Center, where he would play cards with the other residents. He also had a great sense of humor, his wife said.
"They're going to miss him, " Mrs. Harding said.
A member of Summit Hills Country Club, Mr. Harding was an avid golfer. "Those were his two favorite recreations, " Mrs. Harding said. He was also a member of St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright and Florence BPOE No. 314.
Other survivors include a brother, George Edward Harding of Corbin.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Pike Street Clinic for the Homeless, 343 Pike St., Covington, Ky. 41011. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Gregory J. Bowling, 43, of Dry Ridge, died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a carpenter and a Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Jacob Bowling; daughters, Ashley Bowling and Amber Bowling, both at home; his parents, Robert G. and Dorothy Fortner Bowling of Dry Ridge; and brothers, Gary Bowling and Jim Bowling, both of Dry Ridge.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to Bowling Education Fund, in care of Bank of Kentucky, P.O. Box 400, Dry Ridge, Ky. 41035.
Clyde E. Davis, 79, of Burlington, died Tuesday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. He was an engineer for the C&O; Railroad and a Navy veteran of War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Davis of Burlington; sons, Clyde E. "Sam" Davis Jr. and Terry Davis, both of Russell; daughters, Phyllis Richie of Russell and Betty Carr of Ohio; a step-daughter, Debra Frakes of Pennsylvania; brother, Jim Davis of Oklahoma; sisters, Pauline Price, Elene Sebastian, Bettie Siefker and Ethel Mae Shroeder, all of Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Mr. Davis bequeathed his body to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 644 Linn St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45203.
Elizabeth Hartke Gerwe, 89, of Villa Hills, died Thursday at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills. She was a homemaker, a member of Mother of God Church Ladies Society and an active volunteer with The Point. Her husband, George Gerwe, died in 1988.
Survivors include a sister, Freda Enda of Villa Hills; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Eva Coffee Honeycutt, 73, of Bellevue, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Alvis Honeycutt, died in 1982.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Scharber of Fort Thomas and Lisa Fee of Alexandria; sisters, Ollie Nienhaus and Dorothy Martin, both of Independence, and Geneva Mullins of Dayton; and four granddaughters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Ruth Lister, 73, of Ludlow, died Thursday at Florence Park Care Center.
Arrangements are pending at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.
Clara B. Baker McEntire, 54, of Florence, died Wednesday at her home.
She was a retired cafeteria worker with Beechgrove Elementary School and a member of New Banklick Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Charles David McEntire of Corinth, Kevin McEntire of Great Lakes, Ill., and William Dillon of Cincinnati; daughters, Donna Wilke of Fort Campbell, Linda Mardis of Dry Ridge and Teresa McEntire of Taylor Mill; brothers, Rick Baker of Walton, Bill Baker of Grants Lick and Floyd Baker of Alexandria; sisters, Geraldine Bidwell of Florence, Shirley Williams of Falmouth and Jeannie of Cynthiana; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph "Elmer" Moorman, 74, of Carrollton, died Wednesday at Green Valley Health Care center in Carrollton. He was owner of Fair Store in Carrollton for 19 years, and was an employee of the Carrollton Kroger grocery store and City Meat Market. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Carrollton, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and held several offices. He was a Democratic Party precinct chairman and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lea Krumpelman Moorman; a daughter, Patricia Vallender of Beaverton, Mich.; a son, Michael Joseph Moorman of Louisville; a brother, John M. Moorman of Carrollton; a sister, Frances E. Rue of Hamilton, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Carrollton.
Gloria Murray, 78, of Southgate, died at 7:32 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired office manager with Colwell Construction Co., Oklahoma City, Okla.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Murray; a daughter, Molly Buten of Taylor Mill; a sister, Marjorie Roberson of Oklahoma City; brothers, William P. Gebhart of Seabrook, Texas, and Adrian T. Gebhart of Detroit; and two grandchildren.

Wesley C. Stigall, 85, of Erlanger, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a retired millwright with General Motors, Cincinnati, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Steely Stigall; a son, Ed Stigall of Erlanger; a daughter, Sandra Hughes of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Robert Stigall of Covington, Benny Stigall of Cincinnati and Buster Stigall of Somerset; sisters, Loraine Stigall and Irene Stigall, both of Somerset, and Maxine Waters of Science Hill; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Veronica E. Strinko, 75, of Newport, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport.
She was a homemaker and a retired clerk with Western Union. A daughter, Mary Strinko, died earlier this year.
Survivors include her husband, Peter Strinko; daughters, Audrey Dube of Newport and Martha Ruben of Cincinnati; sons, Thomas Strinko of Cincinnati and Anthony Strinko of Alexandria; a sister, Sister Mary Gregory Ann, S.N.D. of Covington; and seven grandchildren.

Dewey "Wolfie" Wolfe, 60, of Taylor Mill, died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a disabled truck driver with Shippers Express Co., Cincinnati, a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 100 and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. A daughter, Jackie Fields, died in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Beagle Wolfe; sons, Billy Wolfe of Covington and David Wolfe of Covington; a daughter, Connie Riddle of Camp Springs; a brother, Herbert Wolfe of Paris; sisters, Imogene Bowman of Berea, Annie Bee Whitehead, Georgia Caldwell and Bonnie Henson, all of Manchester; and seven grandchildren.
