Lillian Martin, piano teacher
Throughout her long life, Lillian C. Martin helped hundreds of children learn how to play the piano.
Miss Martin taught music for more than 20 years for Cincinnati Public Schools.
She also spent more than 50 years giving private piano lessons to children in Greater Cincinnati.
"She loved children and every child in her family was her baby, " said a niece, Norma Beiry of Fort Mitchell. "She taught everyone in our family how to play the piano the minute they could reach the keyboard."
Miss Martin, 91, of Latonia, died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home in Covington.
She had been a member of First Christian Church in Covington since 1923 and spent 60 years as a member of the church choir and Christian Women's Fellowship.
Miss Martin was honored by the church with a plaque for her choir service.
"She was born on a farm in Indiana and had five sisters. Music was her life, " Mrs. Beiry said. "She sang at my wedding. She was a gentle soul. She didn't like the spotlight."
Miss Martin is also survived by her sister, May Baker of Fort Wright.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington and after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Frances Allen, 89, of Falmouth died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Ed gewood.

Geneva Laxton Aytes, of Ludlow, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday at her residence.

Pauline Berry, 82, of Corinth, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Grant County. She was a homemaker and a member of Hinton Christian Church, Corinth. A son, Alvan Scott Berry, died in 1967.
Survivors include her husband, Alvan Berry of Corinth; a son, Timothy Berry of Waynesboro, Pa .; and two granddaughters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home, Corinth. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Raven Creek Cemetery, Corinth.
Lyda Farris Burns, 90, formerly of Taylor Mill, died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday at Barbara Parke Nursing Home, Middletown, Ohio.
She was a retired cafeteria worker for Taylor Mill Elementary School and a member of Decoursey Baptist Church, Fairview. Her husband, Benjamin R. Burns, died in 1983.
Survivors include sons, Ralph "R.C." Burns of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Elwood Burns of Kans as City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Sister Patricia Ann Carroll, 88, of Louisville and formerly of Covington, died Oct. 17 at Nazareth Home, Louisville. She was a retired teacher and speech pathologist, served at Presentation Academy, Spalding University, St. Joseph Infirmary, Audubon Hospital and St. Agnes Convent, and was a member of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.
Survivors include her brother, John Carroll of Florence; several nephews and a niece.
Mass of Christian burial was held in Maria Hall at Nazareth Home. Burial was in Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery, Nazareth. Memorials are suggested to Mission of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, P.O. Box 9, Nazareth, Ky. 40048.
Donald Lee Hanson, 54, of Newport, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday at his home. He was a m usician and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Stroud of Newport; brothers, Charles King and Darrell Stroud, both of Flagler Beach, Fla.; and sisters, Joyce Howard and Debbie Gross, both of Newport.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Gerald Hatfield, 91, of Kenton County, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.

Everette "Jud" Kindred, 71, of Florence, died at 1:32 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a retired shipping/receiving clerk with Lasco Industries and a retired Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Florence United Methodist Church and the Air Force Sergeant's Association.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn A. Kindred of Florence; a son, John T. Kindred of Florenc e; daughters, Scotty L. Reif of Oakley, Ohio, Terry A. Kindred of Tampa, Fla. and Ginger M. Scwab of Elsmere; a brother, Clayton Kindred of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Beatrice Tipton of Cynthiana, and Dorothy Saunders and Katherine Taul, both of Mount Sterling; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Janet M. Martin, 68, of Crestview Hills, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a retired reservationist for Delta Airlines and a volunteer for Ambassadors at Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Survivors include several cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Robert Montgomery, 74, of Covington, died at 8:35 a.m. Oct. 17 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.
He was retired car salesman for Fuller Ford, Cincinnati.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Joseph Palladino, 86, of Alexandria, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a retired mechanic for Coors Dairy.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mailey Palladino of Alexandria; sons, Henry Palladino of Silver Grove, and Joseph Palladino and Clifford Palladino, both of Alexandria; daughters, Mary Day and Alice Wagner, both of Alexandria; a sister, Jeanette Mirka of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Tho mas.
Florence Thiem Pellillo, 89, formerly of Covington, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Health Care Center, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Carl Pellillo, died in 1968.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Sutkamp of Fort Wright; a son, Carl Pellillo of Burlingto n; a sister, Lorraine Hilgefort of Erlanger; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Roberta Roberts, 66, of Latonia, died at 4:59 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Rosemarie Smith, 94, of Fort Thomas, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas.
She was a private duty practical nurse and a member of the St. Thomas Rosary Society of St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Her husband, Morris Smith Sr., preceded her in death. A son, Morris Smith Jr., and a daughter, Mary Ellen Niehaus, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Lloyd Smith of Melbourne, Robert Smith of Van Nuys, Calif., and Edward Smith of Oldmar, Fla.; daughters, Patricia Franzen of Wilder, Joan Makras of Dayton and Margaret Hall of Cincinnati; 30 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

James E. Stacey Sr., 82, of West Union, Ohio, died Sept. 17 at Adams County Hospital, West Union.

Melvin M. Thomas, 68, of Crittenden, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence . He was retired from Kinnard Body Works, Erlanger. His wife, Anna Baker Thomas, died in 1987. A daughter, Glenda Campbell, died in 1990.
Survivors include sons, John Thomas of Burlington, Danny Thomas of Butler, and James Thomas, Terry Thomas and Chris Thomas, all of Florence; a daughter, Bobbi Adams of Joliet, Ill.; a stepson, Mike Bowlin of Corinth; a stepdaughter, Shelly Darlington of Walton; a sister, Margaret Hadden of California; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from from 6 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Briarfield Cemetery, Orlando.
Woodrow Ronald Treadway, 51, of Dry Ridge, died Monday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. He was a maintenance worker for AQW, Walton.
Survivors include a son, Winford Ronald Treadway of Dry Ridge; a brother, Jerry W. Treadway of Walton; and sisters, Brenda Robinson of Independence, Barbara Jill Warner of Garland, Texas, and Betty Joan Williams and Beverly Ann Treadway, both of Port Richey, Fla.
