Bob Ailstock loved to fish, camp
John Robert "Bob" Ailstock Jr. of Erlanger was good with people throughout his life.
The 77-year-old man died Tuesday at Lakeside Health Care Nursing Home in Highland Heights.
"He had a beautiful personality. He was well-liked and very friendly," said his wife, Dorothy Jansing Ailstock.
"At the nursing home, everybody came to see him. The nurses all cried when he died."
Born and reared in Dayton, Mr. Ailstock worked 25 years in Oakley, Ohio, for Trailmobile, which made trucks. He retired from HVC Chemical Co. of Cincinnati, which made bleach and chlorine.
Mr. Ailstock was a member of the Henry Barnes Masonic Lodge in Dayton.
"He loved fishing, camping - just any outdoor sport," said Mrs. Ailstock, who was married
to Mr. Ailstock for 57 years.
Other survivors include daughters, Joyce Ailstock of Erlanger and Janet Nie of Covington; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:10 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Church in Florence.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum in Erlanger.

Virginia Lee Armstrong, 70, of Covington, died Tuesday at her home. She was a cook with Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Mitchell, and a member of the choir at Our Savior Church, Covington.
Survivors include a daughter, Miriam Armstrong of Covington; sons, James T. Penman and Floyd Grace Jr., both of Covington; a sister, Ella Holiday of Covington; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Linden Grove Cemetery, Covington. Catchen Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Geneva M. Brewster, 72, of Independence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Gilbert "Red" Brewster, and a son, Robert Brewster, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Carl Carter of Independence; a grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Family Care, 7162 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237.
Catherine E. Finley Buten, 87, of Fort Thomas, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Edward W. Buten, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Edward W. Buten and Thomas F. Buten, both of Fort Thomas; sisters, Marie Fessler and Phyllis Milius, both of Newport, and Rose Enslen of Fort Thomas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
John William "Bill" Callen, 74, of Piner, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Daniel, 70, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a retired waitress with Freeway Restaurant, Corinth.
Survivors include sons, Billy "Butch" Daniel and Ronnie Daniel, both of Corinth; a daughter, Anna "Sally" Ruff of Independence; a stepdaughter, Hazel Leatherwood of Lupton, Tenn.; sisters, Cora Griffin and Grace Deck, both of Covington, Ruby Brackett of Burlington, Betty Rector of Union and JoAnn Daniel of Burlington; and a brother, Jake Freeman of Burlington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Belleview Baptist Cemetery.
Lallie M. Delph, 81, of Petersburg, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church, Burlington. Her husband, Edward A. Delph, died in 1974.
Survivors include sons, David Delph of Gallatin, Tenn., and Howard Delph of Petersburg; daughters, Frances Blackburn of Petersburg and Janet Brunner of Burlington; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. David T. Franks, 72, of North Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Newport, died Tuesday at his residence.

Garnet Gohs, 84, of Cincinnati, formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday at Hillebrand Nursing Center of Cincinnati. She was a homemaker, a retired volunteer with St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas, and a member of the St. Anthony Altar Society and Senior Citizens of Bellevue-Dayton. Her husband, Carl Gohs, died in 1975.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Gilroy and Marilyn Ruzick, both of Cincinnati; a son, Thomas Gohs of Cincinnati; a sister, Mary Hoffman of Highland Heights; a brother, Donald Miller of Cincinnati; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sally C. Hadden, 43, of Newport, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati, of injuries suffered in an auto accident. She was a data processing clerk with the Internal Revenue Service, Covington.
Survivors include her stepfather, Melvin Krechting of Newport; brothers, Dana Hadden of Liberty, Ind., Patrick Hadden of Kentucky and Stephen Krechting of Louisiana; and sisters, Lois Krechting of Newport and Melody Marshall of Lakeland, Fla.

Alexis Nicole Hertzfeldt, 2 months, daughter of Michael and Rachel Hertzfeldt of Latonia, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Children's Hospital, Cincinnati.
Other survivors include a brother, Darryl Wayne Hertzfeldt of Latonia; and grandparents, Cynthia and Edward Hertzfeldt of Hixton, Wis., and Darlene and Ronnie Couch of Latonia.

Frances Youtsey Hinnau, 73, of Villa Hills, died Wednesday at her home.

Darlene Missy Littleton, 34, of Newport, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a sales clerk with Kmart.
Survivors include her father, Cecil Littleton of Covington; brothers, Russ Littleton of Mays Lick, Mike Littleton of Centrailia, Ill., Terry Littleton of Brooksville and Kenneth Littleton of Falmouth; sisters, Judy Gibson of Centrailia, Renea Bailey of Brown County, Ohio, Christi Littleton of Covington, Bonnie Jacob of Foster, Cheri Dryer of California; and grandfather, Russell E. Covey of Latonia.

Mary Catherine Slattery, 88, of Maysville, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a retired nurse for Hayswood Hospital in Maysville, and a member of St. Patrick Church, Maysville. She was a member of the Charleston Bottoms Homemakers, the Kentucky LPN Association and the Altar Society at St. Patrick Church.
Survivors include a brother, Tom Slattery of Maysville.

Sister Mary Lina Wood, C.D.P., 87, of Melbourne, died at 10:50 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Home in Melbourne. She was a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence for 65 years, and a teacher with elementary schools in Kentucky and Ohio.
