Leila Bowen, loved all children
Leila L. Bowen often looked out for neighborhood children.
Mrs. Bowen grew up in Covington and enjoyed taking care of children. In fact, she became a foster parent who could take care of seven children at a time, said a son, Dennis M. Bowen of Erlanger.
And even when she wasn't officially being a foster parent, she invited neighborhood children to her house for snacks, her son said.
"She was incredibly generous. When I was growing up, I often had my friends over to eat and watch television. She always wanted to make sure the children had something to do," Bowen said.
She was quiet except when it came to children, her son said. Then she would speak up with joy.
"She loved every one of them," Bowen said.
