Ex-policeman Keith Schneider
Keith Schneider, a former police officer, was trying to start a club to give teen-agers in Bellevue a place to spend time.
"He had a heart for kids," said his sister-in-law, Mary Anne Schneider of Villa Hills. "He wanted to give them an alternative to drugs and gangs and empower them to be their own person and think their own thoughts. He wanted them in a more positive venue."
Mr. Schneider, 37, of Bellevue, died Sept. 18 at his home.
He was a security officer with the Gap and a member of Sons of the American Legion Post No. 203 in Latonia. He was working on starting club for teens at the American Legion post.
Mr. Schneider was a former Bellevue police officer and an emergency medical technician with several Northern Kentucky departments.
Mrs. Schneider said her brother-in-law was intelligent, had a keen sense of humor and could fit in any crowd.
"He could just about walk in any circle and fit in," Mrs. Schneider said.
Other survivors include his parents, Louis and Daisy Schneider of Southgate; brothers, Edward Schneider of Lancaster, Pa., and Kevin Schneider of Villa Hills; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Sons of the American Legion Post No. 203, P. O. Box 15274, Covington, Ky. 41015.

Fred Cleveland, 79, of Demossville, died Tuesday at her home. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Wilmington Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Spegal Cleveland; a brother, Charles Cleveland of Covington; and nephews.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Wilmington Baptist Cemetery.

Violette D. Fogle Massey Gallagher, 87, of Falmouth, died Tuesday at her home. She was a seamstress, working in a factory making parachutes during World War II and making alterations as an independent contractor.
She was also a personal attendant to Henry Gallenstein of Gallenstein Brothers, Cincinnati. She attended Falmouth Christian Church. A son, Raymond Thomas Massey, died in 1996.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Gallagher; a son, Jack Wayne Massey of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery, Robertson County. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
Audrey R. Graven, 58, of Ludlow, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Assembly of God, Cincinnati.
Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Fisk of Florence; brothers, Robert Reed of Fort Thomas and George Reed of Fort Thomas; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at First Christian Assembly of God.
Ms. Graven donated her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Robert L. Houston Sr., 74, of Alexandria, died at 3:10 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired chip puller with the Ford Motor Co., Cincinnati.
He also was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Highland Heights and Campbell County VFW Post No. 3205, Alexandria.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Houston; sons, Robert Houston Jr. of Batavia and Kenneth Houston of Fort Thomas; a daughter, Shelia Pfefferman of Alexandria; sisters, Ruth Costello and Thelma Houston, both of New Jersey; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Nancy B. Humes, 74, of Williamstown, died at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice Unit, Covington.
Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Lucy Mullins, 94, of Latonia, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday at Village Care Center, Erlanger.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sandhill Baptist Church, Rockcastle County. Her husband, Levi Mullins, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Merle Mullins of Burlington and Bill Mullins of Villa Hills; a daughter, Kathleen Thomas of Latonia; brothers, Henry Holt and Willy Holt, both of Livingston, and Virgil Holt of Covington; sisters, Della Arnold of Mount Vernon and Bessie Bustle of Covington; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Albert E. Scott, 80, of Elsmere, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired inspector with General Electric, Cincinnati.

Mildred "Millie" Scudder, 74, of Cincinnati, died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday at Greystone Nursing Home in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Cincinnati Association for the Blind.
Survivors include sons, Dave Scudder of Independence, Tony Scudder of Seattle, Gary Scudder of Erlanger and Brian Scudder of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughters, Theresa Summers of Plano, Texas, Linda Scudder of Covington and Jeannie Mansour of Erlanger; a brother, William Ballinger Jr. of Covington; sisters, Helen Cook of Park Hills, Mary Ballinger of Cincinnati and Loretta Mulligan of Vancouver, Wash.; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Anna Elizabeth Tolbert, 88, of Latonia, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home in Latonia. She was a retired cashier and waitress with Lily's Candy Store, Covington, a former teacher and a member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene in Covington.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Thompson of Latonia; a sister, Lucille Juett of Latonia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.

Judith Ann Zemter, 57, of Newport, died Friday at her home. She was a deli worker with IGA in Newport.
