Thelma Frakes - 'a nice lady'
Thelma Faye Turner Frakes was an Erlanger resident and homemaker.
"She had her own strong opinions, and she was just a nice lady," said her husband, Ray Frakes.
Mrs. Frakes died Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. She was 77.
Mrs. Frakes was born and reared in Campbell County.
She worked for a telephone company and also a Cincinnati business that made jet engines - now General Electric - before marrying Ray Frakes in 1959.
Mrs. Frakes was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Latonia.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Morris, and a daughter, Brenda Morris Choshnitzke.
Besides Mr. Frakes, survivors include a daughter, Karen Morris Whaley of Florence; a sister, Juani ta McClanahan of Butler; four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highlands cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Joy M. Baker, 39, of Fort Thomas, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include parents, Charles and Elnora Baker of Fort Thomas; and a sister, Jill Wood of Fort Thomas.

Keith Owen Brockman Sr., 71, of Latonia, died Thursday at his home. He was a retired union organizer and business agent for the AFL-CIO. Survivors include his wife, Dolly Chapman Brockman of Latonia; sons, Keith Brockman Jr. of Brooksville and Caleb Chester Brockman of Elora, Tenn.; daughter, Nancy K. Brockman of Huntland, Tenn.; stepsons, Forester Luns ford of Evansville, Ind., and Joe Lunsford of Winchester, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Arzella Lunsford of London; brothers, Glen Brockman of St. Augustine, Fla., and Kenneth Brockman, Gary Brockman and Scott Brockman, all of Florence; sisters, Gloria Brockman of Las Vegas, Nev., Joann West of Falmouth, Shirley Christy, Langda Martin and Helen West, all of Florence; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

William A. Burkhouse, 50, of Burlington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a Realtor with Remax Affiliates in Fort Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Burkhouse; a son, Eric Burkhouse of Holland, Texas; a daughter, Rachel Burkhouse of Holland; a stepdaughter, Amanda Napier of Burlington; his father, Walter Burkhouse of New Bedford, Pa.; brothers, Charles Burkhouse and Wilbur Burkhouse, both of the state of California; and five grandchildren.

Mary Charlene "Char" Callen, 37, of Erlanger, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a home- maker and a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church, White Oak, Ohio.

Orman Wilhoit Conrad Sr., 85, of Falmouth, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Allender Conrad; sons, O. W. Conrad and Dale Conrad, both of Falmouth, and John Conrad of Manila, Philippines; brothers, Allen Conrad of Florence and Louis Conrad Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla.; sisters, Louise Ball of California and Mildred Anderson of Pembroke; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Shirley Owens Cutlip, 33, of Falmouth, died Thursday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.

Marvin Dotson, 63, of Sardis, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was a retired employee of Emerson Power Transmission.

Dora Smith, 91, formerly of Latonia, died Friday at Daly Park Nursing Home, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker.
