Augusta's Robert Perkins, enjoyed garden
Robert C. Perkins was a quiet man who enjoyed working in his garden and fixing cars.
He also took care of his family, said his brother-in-law, Harold Perkins of Augusta.
"He was a pretty good guy. He liked working on his car and flowers and things," Harold Perkins said. "I've known him since 1948. He grew up in Bracken County."
Robert Perkins, 68, of Augusta, died Monday at his home. He was a machine operator with Clopay Corp.

Harold Perkins' sister, Evelyn, in the late 1950s. She died in 1994. It was a coincidence that they had the same last name before their marriage.
"He had a good sense of humor. He laughed and joked a lot," Harold Perkins said of his brother-in-law.
Mr. Perkins is also survived by a son, Jeffrey A. Perkins of Augusta; and sisters, Agnes Bonar, Thelma Ulrich and Betty Habermehl, all of Augusta, Louise Appleman of North Carolina and Frances Ernst of Germantown.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219; or American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
Larry Baker, 50, of Erlanger, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
Arrangements are pending at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Independence.
Hazel Bowen, 85, of Elsmere, died Monday at Meadows Nursing Home, Forest Park, Ohio. She was a homemaker. Her husband, York C. Bowen III, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Melvin Bowen of Erlanger, George Bowen of Florence and York C. Bowen IV of Austin, Texas; daughters, Diane Hirtzel of Depew, N.Y., and Donna Schanding of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Babe Skidmore of Harlan; a sister, Eloise Skidmore of Lexington; and 11 grandchildren.
No services are planned. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Edith M. Brown, 64, of Verona, died Monday at her home. She was a retired employee of Duro Bag Co., a part-time worker with the Dairy Queen restaurant in Walton and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Verona.
Survivors include daughters, Belinda Brumley of Verona and Sharon Baker of Morning View; a brother, Jacob Dean of Erlanger; sisters, Patricia Tackett of Walton and Louise Alphin of Florence; and one grandson.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visita tion will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
Martha Butler, 91, of Fort Wright, died Tuesday at St. Charles Care Center, Fort Wright.

Estelle Christy, 66, of Walton, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

Gloria M. Combess, 73, of Covington, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Linda Ferris of St. Augustine, Fla., Kathy Hageman of Independence and Carol Bridewell of Taylor Mill; a son, Richard Combess of Richmond; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn cemetery Chapel, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Kowalk Funeral Home, Rose Hill Chapel in Hamilton, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
Clellon Crosthwaite, 91, of Cynthiana, died Monday at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. He was a painter and a member of Boyers Chapel United Methodist Church, Harrison County.
His wife, Alma Frances Crosthwaite, and daughters, Donna Faye Crosthwaite and Glenda Moses, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Pat Spegal and Evelyn Middleton, both of Cynthiana, and Marcia Mulcahy of Lexington; a sister, Theresa Skinner of Harrison County; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.
Jeffrey Faulkner, 42, of Williamstown died Tuesday at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County in Williamstown after an apparent Heart attack.

Estill Davis Fulton, 76, of Mays Lick, died Monday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Shannon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cecil Gifford Fulton; a son, Larry Davis Fulton of Maysville; sisters, Louise Cracraft of Mount Olivet, Chester Workman of Brooksville and Aleta Ogden of Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Marvin Fulton and William Fulton, both of Maysville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph Gosney, 84, of Alexandria, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport.

Virginia Dell Jackson, 76, of Southgate, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a former employee of the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, and a waitress with the Lookout House restaurant.
Survivors include daughters, Darlene Riddell of Southgate and Yvonna Goodman of Newport; a sister, Peggy Kelly of Newport; a brother, Eddie Jackson of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Johns Hill Cemetery, Wilder.
David Michael Lee, 54, of Fort Thomas, died July 21 at the Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights.
Survivors include brothers, James Lee of Michigan, Lawrence Lee of Florida, George Lee of Kentucky, and Louie Lee of Colorado; and sister Patricia Lee of Fort Thomas.

LaVerne E. Lommel, 82, of Covington, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Benedict Church, Covington.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Lommel; daughters, Carolyn L. Baugh of Richmond and Mary Lou Hansen of Fort Wright; a brother, Gordon Hirsch of Erlanger; one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Roger B. Morris Sr., 28, of Covington, died at 2:19 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a roofer with Parrett Roofing Co., Covington, and a member of Landmark Baptist Temple, Cincinnati.

Morris Jr. and Brandon Morris, both of Covington; daughters, Jade Love Morris of Covington, Chantel Morris and Heather Scholler, both of Newport; a stepson, Jeremiah Reynolds of Covington; his father, Roger C. Harry Anthony "Hank" Wuellner IV, 31, of Covington, was found dead Sunday in the Licking River. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.
Survivors include his parents, Vanetta L. and Harry A. Wuellner III of Villa Hills; brothers, Steven Wuellner of Ludlow, Michael Wuellner of Erlanger, Joseph Wuellner of Florence and David Wuellner of Villa Hills; and grandparents, Ginny and Harry Wuellner Jr. of Villa Hills.
